  1. It's good to see someone remembering me!
  2. The bravery and courage he showed should be applauded. Thank you for reminding me of the best of craigslist. Now I have something to do with all this insomnia! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  3. Or gear related questions Or packing Or good gear checks Or determining exit order Or KNOWING WHEN TO SIT DOWN. Shouldn't our AFF-I courses be designed to test a candidate's knowledge on that? Someone having the minimum freefall requirement doesn't guarantee they have that knowledge, and I'm sure we're all very familiar with the young, hipster kid with 400 jumps who has never looked out of a plane before and always pays a packer. When the young, hipster kid gets his AFF-I rating, however, everyone celebrates even though he flies like crap and his teaching skills leave little to be desired. To put things in another safety perspective, who would you rather have on someone's first release dive? Weekend warrior or tunnelrat? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  4. You will learn more freefall skills in 60 minutes of tunnel than you will in 60 skydives. You will learn zero parachute/spotting skills in 60 minutes of tunnel. Whatever your tunnel/skydiving balance is is up to you. Some skydivers have never been in a tunnel, and some tunnelrats have never been skydiving. I prefer to spend money on the things that I want to spend money on, and if people think I spend too much time tunnelling or skydiving, then they can go f*** themselves. 5. An update - The Plan Commission is holding a meeting in regards to this on Thursday, July 14 at 7 pm. The address is 414 Main St., Hobart, IN. More info (stolen from the facebook event) below: There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  6. I'm trying not to get too excited since it probably won't happen, but I am so freaking thrilled to see the possibility of a tunnel going up actually hitting a newspaper: http://posttrib.suntimes.com/news/lake/5851799-418/indoor-skydiving-go-carts-proposed-in-hobart.html EDIT: I would like to add that I will not ditch SVCO and the awesome coaches there for this tunnel. It will only enhance my flying while in Denver. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  7. It's really important to establish blame when trying to understand the bigger picture The US military logged over 60,000 civilian deaths in the Iraq war. I'm not sure how much blame can be placed on an 18-year old kid whose entire family has been blown up by the US wanting to get revenge on the US. When you kill 60,000 civilians, trying to pass the blame on to someone else as justification doesn't actually mean you were right in doing so. 9. I have no idea. Her sister and I go back and forth on whether or not we will be going. Our cousin has already backed out (let's just say, our family isn't shy about not being overly supportive of this marriage.) There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  10. I'm even more delighted that people remember me for what I once was! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  11. All he has is debt! AD, glad someone around here remembers me! Bill, I think you're right. If I talk to her simply addressing the potential outcomes she may not have thought of, that's pretty much all I can do. Squeak, no she is fine to make her own decisions, but the brain injury prevents her from being able to physically do things. Mary, you are right on. She needs a lawyer, and she probably hasn't thought of that. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  12. It's been awhile since I've used dz.com as a sounding board, but I'm stuck on what to do, and the wedding date is right around the corner. Long story short - a family member started dating someone weeks after her ex-husband moved out. She was blissfully happy until she found out that the new guy she was dating cheated on her just six months in. She cried to me a lot about it, and when she asked me what I would do in her situation, I told her, "Dump the bastard." She was about to kick him out (he and his kids moved in to her house), and then (to solve the dilemma he was in) he proposed!!! She accepted and seems to be having delusions of a happy life ever since. Since the proposal, I told him that I would personally rip his balls off if he ever cheated on her again. She's going to marry him, and there's nothing I can do about it. She has a major brain injury, can't work and lives on a very tight income. She has a very beautiful house, and I'm worried that she'll lose the little she has because of this disaster she's running into. If I tell her again that she should dump him, I risk her never speaking to me again. If I tell her that she's making a mistake, maybe there's a small chance that she'll rethink marrying him. What to do? There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  13. I'm 31, and I'm much less of a nutjob now than I was 10 years ago. Overall, things seem to get better. I hope by 41 I finally have my shit together. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  14. Maybe you should just give up? Sounds like you put a lot of effort into being unhappy with dating. It's probably just not your thing, which is perfectly fine. But, it seems silly to keep trying it if it's not working for you. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  15. I wouldn't want to end up like your friend either because it sounds like he's a lying a**hole who is playing the victim card for ending up in the situation in which he put himself in. "poor me!" F*** that. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  16. Yeah, the beatings should wait until after she bakes it wrong. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  17. I put the movie in the netflix queue about two seconds after finishing the first book in the series. I'm already well into the second book. Addicting! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

  19. I think when you go for the hottest person in the room, "you pay your money, you take your chances." When you go for the person you are compatible with, and they happen to be hot, you'll probably find them to be less "messed up." There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

    Dexter

I don't get addicted to many shows, but I am hooked on Dexter. Unfortunately, I thought this season was such a let down. I am getting tired of all of the subplots. I don't care who Deb sleeps with (and I'm hoping that she is killed off early next season.) I don't care about Bautista's marriage issues. Quinn's veneers really drive me loony. I think Julia Stiles was an ok special guest, and she was given the unfortunate spot of appearing after John Lithgow's amazing performance. The show keeps losing more and more of its dark humor that got me hooked initially. I hope next season is more Dexter and less other stuff. 22. I think this is probably the best invention ever. http://www.amazon.com/AutoExec-WM-01-Wheelmate-Steering-Wheel/dp/B000IZGIA8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8& (Read the reviews and look at the pictures for additional features of the product.) There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
  23. I like the sign, "My arm is tired." The rally sounded like a good time.
  24. Byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyytch! Thanks for the jumps over the years.
  25. Add this to the list of things that make Bill and I different! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
