At Picton i'm not sure why we even have radios, they barely get used except for "Jason, follow the yellow (or white) arrow please" if there's more than one AFF on a load. We use big swiveling arrows on the ground controlled by a target assistant, once you get in close and you see the TA pick up the batons you just mirror the TA's baton movements.... Not sure how a deaf AFF student would get ground schooled here but i'm sure it's been done. Once you're in the air it really doesn't matter too much I should think. (unless i'm missing something)

Already spoken to my boss about it before I finished AFF... He was really keen on it, so the first new rig I buy will have company logos on the canopy, etc.... I don't mind, we've got good colours

Doing my AFF at the moment and for us (in Australia) its Horizon-Ground-Alti. I've always taken the opportunity to really look at the ground while doing circle of awareness checks, just to get a feel for what that height looks like, especially when it comes down to pull time. My last jump I went lower than I had before and I really noticed the difference, hard to explain but it felt like things were speeding up the lower i got.

Pick a fixed width and height and stick with it
