    My odd dog

that is SO funny. ITs amazng that dogs can do that -- my dog does that with his heartworm medicine -- i hide it in peanut butter and then hide it in canned dog food so that its immersed in the liquid part. But he still is able to eat around it and lick all the peanute butter off and leave it in the bowl! During my dog's first year of life, he chewed at least 7 pairs of my heels... a VERY expensive year for me.
  2. It is really difficult to find comparative information on Rx prices in the US because for the most part people don't care as their insurance covers most of the costs except for copays/coinsurance. And its the insurance companies that are getting the discounts for you through volume purchasing and rebates. If you don't have insurance, my advice is for you to go online to the different pharmacy chains, or even ask them, to see what the prices are that they charge. Plus ask if you can purchase a drug discount card. In addition, pharmaceutical benefit managers like Medco, Express Scripts, and Caremark also have discount cards you can purchase so you can get lower prices. Often though you have to be of a certain income because its for people that cannot afford health insurance. It really is a pity because if people had more information on drug prices they could do more comparison shopping. But for the most part, most people don't care as they have their insurance paying for the bulk of it. And its those that aren't covered that pay the most.
  3. what about a chocolate sauce? I have done the chocolate sauce thing before -- sounds fun and yummy (mmm) but let me tell you, its really messy and sticky. Plus dried chocolate sauce looks disgusting. I think whipped cream and strawberries is the way to go.
  4. Actually, Fiat is the one that is the inefficient, debt-laden company with absolutely no worth in the market. It has $10 billion dollars in debt and GM paid Fiat to avoid a long legal battle where Fiat was going to force GM to fully acquire its company. GM did not want to and paid $2 billion in a settlement to avoid having to take all of the company. Originally it only wanted a small part of the company so that it could have access to its deisel engines.
  5. I would love to live on the beach and in warm weather 365 days of the year 0- and just travel to cold places for the change of seasons. So, southern California sound quite nice. As does living on a boat and going from island to island...
  6. Thats who I got too... And he actually is who I do lust after the most... Especially after that movie he was in with Renee Russo a few years ago (can't remember the name)... yummy.. pant... pant. But I have to say my other fav is Johnny Depp. He just seems like he would be so interesting to go out with. Plus he is so sexy.

    Why?

No! If you are a woman and you bring a shirt in just to get laundered and starched, they will charge you more (unless sneak it in with guys shirts) At least in my experience...
  8. i would add: spiral notebooks (hard to write) vegetable peelers soup ladles trying to learn any sport is more difficult and find equipment

    Why?

Speaking of men and women's shirts... here is another question... Why do dry cleaners charge $5 per shirt for women and $1 a shirt (or 99 cents) for men? They are pretty much the same except that the women's shirt is usually smaller. Makes me mad!!!
  10. chicken (since its the Year of the Rooster) and Fish (no meat for Catholics on Ash Wednesday) and ashes
  11. On an empty stomach, it takes two drinks and/or 2-3 shots. tequila is a killer but I LOVE the taste and warm feeling as it goes down. In college i had many a forgotten night from everclear and red punch/grape drink. To this day,I don't like fruity drinks. Ugh

  13. I think its a little ridiculous to comment on you being 2-3 minutes late... but it also depends on what your job entails. Are you in customer services where folks are waiting for you? Do you have to answer phones starting at 8:30? In that case it does make a difference. And if its all the time, that is a different story too. My advice would be to apologize and say that you will make sure that you are not late again. And then try leaving earlier than usual to get to your office. Also, maybe if you are running late, you can give her a call personally and let her know the situation and thus running late -- sometimes (especially women) understand family matters more often than not. That is what i do. I do think she is being way anal though -- particularly if you are performing well and getting all your work done. But thats the nature of the beast when you work for someone else. p.s. keep tabs on her time - is she ever late?
  14. Whenever i donate blood I always watch everything except the moments before they stick the needle in. I don't know why because i have donated so many times before so I KNOW its not really going to hurt. I might sound kind of weird, but does anyone kind of enjoy giving blood? I kind of like it for some reason... its kind of neat watching your blood fill a bag and knowing you are helping someone.
  15. i can't think that far ahead. But someplace warm I hope
  16. Hey I have been in LA and had serious problems with reception even in certain highly congested areas. Being LA I am sure they did something wrong when building cell phone towers since its such a poorly planned city.
  17. NO WAY!!! it is great, so many great scenes "and now your 6oclock news with Ron Bergundy and Tits Magee" "Sky Rockets in Flight....Afternoon Delight" "I love Lamp" AND TONS MORE Anchorman is the most bizarre movie i have seen in a long time (can't believe i paid $10 to see it). While watching it I thought it was so bad that it actually became comical/ funny. But I have to say that the lines are CLASSIC
  18. I like skeletons; they make me laugh.
  19. awww.. poor little guy...he's so sad and pathetic looking that he is adorable.. my cat would be going crazy if I bathed him. Thank God for groomers.
  20. is Cabrini Green still in bad shape? I thought they razed the buildings and put in mixed income townhomes? Or is only part of it like that? Have they torn down all the Taylor Homes yet? I used to live in CHicago about 10 years ago... what a GREAT city.. if it wasn't for those darn winters!!!
  21. IF you want to lose weight and keep it off I would do it the traditional way -- cut out all snacking, cut your portions in half and eat healthier (i.e. fishes, lean meats, vegetables, fruits), and exercise. I seriously lose weight when I do the simple things of cutting out snacks and cutting my portions Atkins/South Beach work very well but once you switch back to your normal diet (of eating carbs and such) the weight often comes back. Also, my mom often does weight watchers a week before she wants to lose 5 lbs for some event that requires her to "look good" Just some thoughts....
  22. AAARGH! Its soooooo cold. My toes have yet to dethaw!!!!!
  23. If I were you I would pay the long-term loan as why pay 9% for years and years? If you continue at that rate you will be paying sooo much over the 30 year period. I personally think that federal grant loan program shouldn't have 30 year loans as that is not financially good long term. Second, I would see if you can consolidate your other credit cards onto a single credit card with a lower rate. OR even see if you can take out a bigger loan with a lower rate to pay those off. I did this once when I had two credit cards at high rates and my bank loan was much lower. Just some thoughts.
  24. What about Cheney calling someone an "asshole" (or something like that) on camera... The VP should be held to a higher standard than Chevy Chase... I agree with Typicalfish that both sides are not innocent of this type of behavior but I do have to say that I think that Chevy Chase's behavior was abhorrent. He was on stage at the Kennedy Center in public where you would expect decorum and manners to matter just a bit more. He didn't just make one comment but continued with a litany of rude and tasteless comments. The VP's verbal comment was not the most appropriate thing either but he was not in public -- but was talking to another colleague and their PERSONAL conversation got heated and overheard by a few others. Conversations among colleagues -- (even Senators) get heated, as we all know. I have said a few things in the heat of the moment to my colleagues. But he did not have a planned speech before hundreds of people. Just my take.
