  1. happy birthday!! great place to be i am not wearing any right now... just felt like sitting free and fancy
  2. LOL...when they take a look at the two teenagers hanging around me, I don't think a sexy suit is going to help much! We are definitely planning on taking lessons. Since it's the end of the season and we will be there during the week, they have a price of $38/day for a lesson, rental and lift ticket. Is that a good price? thats a really good price! Lift tickets alone can cost $50 plus a day in Vail. Also -- enjoy the apres-ski -- hot toddies in a hot tub :-)
  3. Oooo... I am jealous. Where are you going? I only ski (although I want to learn to snowboard)but from friends who have done both, they say that once you learn to snowboard, you don't want to go back to skiing. And while snowboarding is really tough at first, after you get the hang of it (1-2 days) there is a really quick learning curve. Skiing can be very challenging even after years of skiing. But its definitely fun too. Oh -- also when you bite it on skis it can be a bit more dangerous than snowboarding. I would definitely start with lessons for the first few days -- it really helps to learn the basics and get the right technique down. You could all take group lessons together with a private instructor or the kids could go off to the kid school. have a blast!
  4. It's a mayo related salad dressing. Kind of a flavored version of mayo. Miracle Whip thats interesting (or maybe not ) that you like both MW and mayonaise. Its usually a love/hate relationship with one or the other. I love mayo but cannot stand the taste of MW.
  5. Whenever I go to Chicago (which has been way too long) I go for a good slice of Chicago pizza -- giordanos or carmen's (in Evanston). There is nothing better.. makes me fat and happy!
  6. Shoot i really wanted to watch that last night... i LOVED the book growing up. So beautiful. IMHO books are always so much better than movies so I hope you find the book as wonderful as I did!
  7. This is so sad... what a tragedy. THoughts and prayers to you and her family and friends...
  8. thoughts and prayers to the you and her family.
  9. i am confused... why did she give you her number AND her friend's cell phone number? Are they a package deal?
  10. YOu know, I loved Disneyworld as a kid -- and I am sure will take my kids there someday, but if you sit and think about it, doesn't it all seem sort of cultish and bizarre? Especially in those neighborhoods where people can live on Disneyworld property-- but its almost like the book "Wrinkle in Time" where all the homes have to look a certain way, keep the yard a certain way, etc. Also kind of like that movie Pleasantville. maybe its just me?
  11. y'all are so lucky. I have to wear boring conservative suits to work... business dress during the week. Occasionally we have business casual. And you can tell a man heads up our office as the dress code says that women must wear stockings and no open toed shoes. I always ignore that rule except in the dead of winter when my legs look like casper. In fact, most of the women ignore the rule and wear sandals and such in the summer. I think all men should have to wear pantyhose for a day -- then we can see how long they actually keep that rule in place!
  12. 1. fly planes 2. be a dancer -- whether it be a ballerina or a stripper pole dancer or belly dancer... i just love watching dancers' body movements and muscles and the amazing things they can do with their bodies.
  13. Wow, talk about routine... that poor woman.. where's the creativity? The spontaneity? 10 minutes?????? Guess its better than nothing
  14. I applaud them Glad they are fully enjoying each other. Don't worry, you will have your day too I am sure
  15. So, what is your answer? In the spirit of fairness, I will give you the same nakedly honest answer I gave him... I wish I had a time machine to take me back to the day AFTER I got engaged, so I wouldn't fuck things up this time. Of course, that might just be a "period of my life" thing, I am in the midst of a divorce and all of the b%$$#@&$ that goes with it. Just being truthful. sorry to hear that ... good luck to you. I know all about regrets and wishing you could turn things back and fix what could have been. I always think things happen for a reason -- but maybe that's just my survival mentality speaking or else I would always live in the past. But I do hope your birthday is a happy one
  16. What's a one and only? P- my one and only love
  17. to walk on the beach at sunset hand and hand with my one and only...
  18. Vanilla Wafers don't go in millk! Way too soggy and bland. Instead they go in vanilla pudding with bananas -- the world's greatest dessert!!! YUMMY
  19. I am with you on that one! I always have a dilema when dunking oreos though. Can't decide if I want to make my fingers cold and fully submerge the cookie or just barely grab the corner and still have a crunchy part and risk it breaking and falling in the cup when you go to eat it. Now that i think about it.. i have the same issues.. i hate when the oreo becomes too soft and falls in -- then you have to fish around for your mushy oreo and it ruins the milk. I like just a bit of milk saturation so it still maintains the crunchiness. whew.. who knew there was such an art to eating oreos!!
  20. i agree with you! Oreos are the BEST. A very very close second is Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies!!!
  21. my brother-in-law did Body for LIfe and he had great results after about a month. He first lost a lot of weight and then after, he started to gain muscle mass and definition. Looks hard to do because of the strict eating regimen but i think it sounds like you are the right track!
  22. That's fine with me. Fiat's $10B in debt is a drop in the bucket against its current and potential revenue value (over $63B). Their sales growth has been somewhat steady and positive. Meanwhile, GM has been in negative growth for some time. . ummm... i dont' know what you are reading, but Fiat has been in decline and hasn't made a profit in awhile -- in fact, its has not met its sales projections in a few years and is looking to partner again with another auto company to help it in its restructuring and development. In fact, its own company head says it could only have 2 years left before bankruptcy. This $2 billion from GM gives it some more time to restructure and try to turn around. And GM actually had profits of $2 billion this past year. It continues to have growth however not as much as its competitors Toyota and Nissan. The reason that GM is suffering is not because of a lack of quality (in fact it has scored at the top in quality standards) but because of its huge legacy costs and the trade inequities that Japan has. ( I do financial analysis/research for an investment consulting company) I actually don't even have a car at the moment!!
  23. it sounds like you bent over backwards to try and correct the situation. I don't know how much more i would do. I think the fact that you called twice and talked to someone is more than 90% of people would do. You sound like a good egg. Maybe next time you go to Walmart you can tell the manager and explain what happened -- keep your receipt. And see what the manager says. Also make sure it didn't come out of the new cashier's paycheck? I have no idea how that works... not that it matters, but I seriously DOUBT Walmart is hurting from it -- jsut matters if it affects the new cashier and your own conscious.
