I am stuck with the holiday duty this time. Thanksgiving can be slow in the ER, or absolutely hellacious. Usually it gets worse as the day goes on when families see Grandma, who is alwasy looking bad, but they decide she needs checked out in the ER right now. And the belly pain from gall bladder attacks after all the rich food. And the start of the holiday season depression crisis attacks. I had a FX for about 100 jumps. It worked fine, but was not user friendly to access functions. And, I had difficulty hearing it in freefall. It would be nice if it had adjustable volumes. I dropped mine, and sent it to Italy for service. They emailed me that they received it, but in 2 months, never emailed whether or not it was repairable, and never responded to multiple queries about it's status. I bought a ProTrack, and like it much better.

My Skytronics has crapped out, and I am looking for a new audible. I love the recording capabilities of the Skytronics for logging freefall time, speeds, opening altitudes etc. Does the Solo or Optima record and dive info, or only act as an audible. I started classes and AFF at my home DZ, but didn't finish in the fall due to weather. I went to Lake Wales in the winter and they finished my training. They just wanted the logbook and notes from my previous instructor, spent some time making sure I was up to date, and took off from there. It was no problem. Hey Froggish, my question is are you going to jump with him??? That's what got me started at age 51. My daughter had to go on her 18th birthday, I took her to a DZ, decided what the heck, I'll try it once. ""Indeed an evil drug. Lots of ODs occured after someone was clean for sometime, then went shooting up the same amount they used to while at the peak of dependence. Heroin addiction is never curable, even when someone is clean for years. I've lost a couple of friends to it, and wouldn't be surprised if I lose a couple more sooner or later. He met an old girlfriend, she had also been clean for a year, and they both shot up, probably at their old dose, and both were found dead in their room on Easter Sunday.
