  1. Congrats! I know how hard the waiting must have been... Cross your fingers for my girlfriend, she finds out if she passed the bar this friday...
  2. okay, try archiving or deleting some of the messages in your inbox...apparently this happens to outlook when the .pst file gets really big, and making it a little smaller can help get it out of there. If that doesn't work...that's all I got
  3. I've had that problem before. It's a pain in the ass. What finally worked for me was moving it from the outbox to another directory, then deleting it from that directory. good luck...
  4. It's called chip-seal. It sounds like there might have been something wrong with the emusified asphalt they used, as it should not come up after about 15 minutes if it is done correctly. A quick internet search said that "go-jo" hand cleaner works well to get rid of it. You might still want to call your street dept...if the chip seal is coming up, they didn't get their money's worth...
  5. You aerospace engineers always get to work on the coolest stuff! Many of my friends at CU were Aerospace and I was always jealous of what they were doing, meanwhile I was testing concrete in the dungeon of the engineering building. Good luck!
  6. You mean like this? I spent a few days there last summer. One piece of advice: hiking on basalt in the grand canyon in the middle of the summer in flip flops is not really a good idea.
  7. Trekking poles aren't nessecarily a 'must have' but they can really help you balance and save your knees on steep terrain. Bring a good first aid kit - including moleskin for blisters and such. On that note, don't bring a shiny new pair of boots on a long hike like this one. If you just bought new boots and need to wear them, wear them around for a few hours at a time for a number of days before going. Otherwise, you'll be getting blisters on the first day. Invest in a good backpacking stove - propane is way too heavy for practical use on a longer trips. A lot of people swear by jet boils, and I love mine, but it doesn't like to work when it gets really cold. For summer backpacking use, a jetboil should be fine. Just make sure you bring enough fuel. If you are cooking something other then water, jet boils have a tendancy to burn stuff to the bottom really quickly if you don't stir them a lot. Cooking can be as easy or as difficult as you want to make it. I have seen people bring full 5-course dinners backpacking. I tend to go as simple as possible because I know I'll be exhausted by the time I'm making dinner. Pasta is always a good choice. There are dehdrated backpacking foods that cook up quickly too.

*Bump* Woot Off today for you woot people!
  10. ? What do you think this is skydiving?? People should owe you for this one! Of course, buying for your instructor is always a nice thing to do. Now here's a question - do you owe for the first time dropping jumpers as a pilot?
  11. Microsoft also has an unsupported program called Virtual CD Rom Control Panel that I have used before successfully http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916902
  12. Yeah, moving everything is a huge pain in the ass and it's not as many uniquely different places as it sounds like. Within that 16, 6 are in Boulder, Colorado, 4 are in Canon City, Colorado, and 3 are in Lakewood, Colorado. In fact, the only one outside of Colorado is Fayetteville, West Virginia. I'm ready for the next move to be the last one for a long time.
  13. For a government application, I recently had to reconstruct the last 10 years of my life. In between college, working as a whitewater raft guide / ski bum, and getting a "real" job, I've lived in 16 different places for at least 3 months at a time in the last ten years. Anyone else move a lot?
  14. I definatly second that, if you haven't already had it done. I used to hate running - it was soo painful. Finally, I went into a running store, had a gait analysis done and the shoes I got as a result make running significantly less painful.
  15. After this weekend, i'm now current again in both skydiving and flying. I'd kind of let both of those slip a little while I was busy doing other stuff over the summer. It's good to be back in the air again!
  16. Congrats! I know you've been working on it for awhile now! Are you going to start working on your instrument or are you satisfied with the private for now?
  17. Union and Alameda - most of the gas stations around there are in the $2.90 range. There is a safeway at Mississippi and Alameda that was $2.89 plus the three cent discount last I filled up. Edit to add: according to denvergasprices.com you can find gas as cheap as $2.65 in Denver.
  18. Geez must be expensive up north and south. Where I live (Lakewood), I've been paying $2.85.
  19. If you do end up on the big island to go night diving with the mantas I recomend Jack's Diving Locker I've had really good experiences with them. If you have extra time on the big island be sure visit Volcanos NP and the Waipio valley...both are amazing.
  20. If you make it out to the big island I can reccomend some great diving out there. The night diving with the manta rays is one of the coolest dives I have ever done.... Unfortunatly, I've never been diving on Oahu, so I have no idea where to go there.
  21. I'm there...relatively new at it, but It's definatly addicting. http://colorado.facebook.com/profile.php?id=10228728
  22. Reef actually manufactures a flip flop with a beer opener in the sole. I'm just not so sure I want the bottom of my shoe touching the top of a beer I am about to drink.
  23. At my house, a beer bottle opener was never around when we needed one. We finally had the idea to attach one to the dog's collar. Now whenever we need a beer, we just call the dog over. It's the beer opener that comes to you
