  1. Alanis Morissette (Dogma) Although I think I'd have to vote for Morgan Freeman. I haven't seen Evan Almighty yet though...
  2. I had some pretty messed up and vivid dreams when I was on Lariam (anti-malarial). I had to stop taking it.
  3. If you go to the setup menu there is an option that you can use to calculate and adjust for the Lag with HDTV's ..at least on the PS2 version there is...
  4. Fun game! I like the songlist a lot better than the previous games too. I'm not sure if I like the new 'boss' modes though. I just wrapped up the game in medium, but hard is kicking my butt. I was also disappointed to learn that I can't play online with my PS2 version of the game
  5. I was having some hard openings on my spectre, in a wings container, just like the one you're jumping when I first got the rig...not every time, but from time to time it would really slam open. I got the same advice that AggieDave posted at the beginning of the thread: make sure the slider is all the way against the stops. I did that and havent had a hard opening since. For me, the important key was to control the slider at every step of the process: when you coccon the canopy, when you fold it, and when you put it in the bag. Push it up against the stops and hold it there every time. I've found the canopy to open well, regardless of how sloppily I packed it, so long as I always pay attention to keeping the slider against the stops.

    Snow Chains

Yeah, I used to drive busses that had those things on them. When they worked, they were better then just tires, but not as good as chanis. They have a tendancy to get iced up and stop working correctly and from time to time would make a terrible racket. They require a lot of maintenence to work at all. Chains are a huge pain in the ass...I would still look at getting good, studded snow tires for most driving (theyu aren't soo bad on dry pavement...), and using chains as only a 'last resot' You're looking at around 20 minutes chain up and chain down time every time you have to use 'em.
  7. QuoteThey key, IMO, is breatheable windstoper. Goretex like fabric arent breatheble enough for me when doing areobic activities. I just got one of thosehttp://www.coloradocyclist.com/product/item/DESXKTNF, and I think I'll like it, if our temps ever fall below the 80s! Quote ^^ What he said. Gore Windstopper is amazing stuff. I have a great pair of cycling gloves that is gorewindstopper and leather. There are also some low-bulk tops and pants that you can get...they keep you warm but don't add a lot of drag for cycling.
  8. eh, looks pretty rough compared to our typical camp scenes. Rafts can carry thousands of pounds
  9. Congrats! I just sat through the Colorado Swearing In with my girlfriend last week. I hope your swearing in was less boring then her's was! Good Luck on getting a good job!
  10. Regardless of the situation, I'd consider it cheating if you wouldn't tell your S.O....
  11. If you are only looking at the MS flight simulator range of products, obviouslly the most recent is the best. I have Flight Simulator X and like it, but I have heard good things about other products out there, X-Plane and such. FS X is actually pretty good for working on instrument stuff. It won't really help too much as far as actually learning to fly the plane, but it can really help you get comfortable with working with the charts, maneuvering in patterns, and understanding how IFR works.
  12. We managed to keep regular water ice in coolers for 12 days while rafting the Grand Canyon this summer during record heat of 120 degrees. We employed a number of tricks to do this. First, we froze the ice directly into the bottom of the coolers. The ice was not frozen all at once, but 'layered' every day. This helps keep the ice from cracking, which will cause it to melt significantly faster. You need access to a walk in freezer to do this... Second, we drained the coolers every morning. Getting rid of the water out, prevents ice from melting. The water is warmer than freezing - get rid of it. Third, we had a higherarchy of coolers as we went through the trip. The meat cooler was the highest priority. All the meat was deep frozen in advance, and that cooler was only opened once a day, in the mornings, and anything we needed for the day was removed to 'warmer' cooler, that we opened as we needed. Every time we opened a cooler, we had a plan for what we wanted, knew where to look, and only kept it open for a few seconds. Fourth, we consolidated the coolers as they emptied out and the ice got thin. Coolers work a lot better when they are full. Air is warm and will melt ice quickly. Dry ice is, in my experience, not effective for a number of reasons. It can crack the inside lining of coolers unless well insulated. Adding this insulation reduces the space that the ice can actually be used for. It also tends to 'steam off' rather quickly. I think dry ice would be good in a cooler that doesnt get opened until several days into the trip, but if it is a cooler that gets opened and closed a lot, it might be a problem. Oh and I've got some pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them...

    Red Sox

The Rockies can take on the sox. They played a series at Fenway back in June and won 2 out of 3. They need to step it up though. That, by far, was the worst playing I've seen from that ballclub in the postseason.
  14. Knowing what you do, I have a feeling that whatever you are proposing that involves the perris jet could be very very interesting. Do tell if and when you can...

    Red Sox

That was ridiculous. The Rockes looked nothing like the team that swept the divisional and league series games. And the Red Sox looked great out there. Looks like th 8 days off hurt. Hopefully they can pull it back together tonight!

  17. You're welcome It's a fun site to play around with huh?
  18. That sucks. I've been there before. In the future, get Bitpim (it's free). Get the $15 usb cable (my phone came with one). Download your phone book to your computer and keep it as a backup. Good Luck
  19. Go arounds happen. They are rare for large commercial airports where 95% of the planes are IFR and are sequenced well ahead of time. They happen a lot more often when there is VFR traffic coming and going at will. In this case where VFR mixes with IFR, sometimes the sequencing doesnt work out. I've seen it happen a few times where 737's have had to go around after trying to get into a non-towered airport because some 172 pilot turned onto final in front of him. Of course it's a lot more expensive and time consuming for a 737 to go around then for the 172 pilot.
  20. Nope, I didn't have tickets to the game, but we were already downtown and decided to stay and watch the game at a bar. After the game we went down to Coors Field. Good times!
  21. I just got back from downtown Denver. What a crazy night! This is gonna be fun!
  22. I still think using a router for NAT would help...anything to keep the IP of the computer itself off the IP it is on now. All you'd have to do is plug it in in place of the hub and make sure the IP gets changed to 192.168.something. A router shouldnt cost any more then $30 or so.

    Jury Duty

Be careful, I actually know of someone who got charged with contempt of court for being too outlandish with that one.
