  1. Have you thought about doing a tandem to get back in the air? It might just remind you why you love this sport. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  2. The pic second from the bottom is best. How the hell did those guys get so dirty? And the pig that did all the work looks happy as a pig in shit. Or more like a pig in rocket, which isn't nearly as good a phrase. How about this: The pig looks as happy as a pig in shit rocket. it's friday at 8 and i'm bored out of my shit rocket. Don't forget tounge. Or is that broken too? Didn't anyone tell him "no low turns"? Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  5. walked into that one. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  6. And that's exactly why VRW is going to be so good for this sport. It forces freeflyers to plan the jump and jump the plan, which some are really not good at. But I think it will seperate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak -- people who don't want to be serious don't have to participate. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  7. That's hysterical. I guess Tom and Val suck in more ways than one. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  8. Agreed. If you're chastising yourself when you get on the ground, you're going to hurt your performance and not have fun. Breathe, relax, and remember we all suck at this. Some of us just suck less due to experience. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  9. "Yeah, dude, last night I opened that boat." Sounds kind of dirty. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  10. You don't think the sunglasses would work well? I'm all for small high quality cameras, but those glasses would make a neat toy. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  11. These look pretty sweet. Anyone tried using them? The resolution looks pretty low, but if you're just a screw around fun jumper who wants a video log, they might work really well. Talk about removing snag hazard! Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  12. Or snaptastic. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  13. I tell people I have 5 altimeters. Two audibles, one analog, and two visual (my eyes!) Lots of experienced people are fairly device dependent, and forget that they can (or should be able to) just look at the ground and know about how high they are. To the original poster: forget the neato watch and even neptunes at this point. Go dork-style with the huge analog. All the coolest skydiving nerds wear one. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  14. Apparently you are not familiar with the onion. Click around on other "stories", you'll see it's all satire. How can you not know about the Onion? They've had bestselling books out for years now! 15. No, that's the wrong cult. We use jello shots around here. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  16. Try this. It's about halfway down the page. The direct link doesn't work, or maybe I'm just doing it wrong. edit: yep. i'm an idiot. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  17. www.yahoo.com Look on the right side under "in the news". A short video of the testing and use of a "skyboard". Looks like the same thing that was in the bond movie. They say 35 sec of flight from 10k, and shows the ejection of the jumper and the skyboard landing under its own canopy. Seems like a lot of extra danger is introduced with an uncontrolled canopy, and you can get the same amount of freefall without it. Is the idea that people who aren't comfortable with wingsuits will use this? Or is it just a toy for the movie people? Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  18. Apparently the dimensions need to be totally exact. Mr. Booth said at the SDC spring expo last year that errors on the order of fractions of an inch make the skyhook useless. I applaud him for wanting to make sure it's done right. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  19. I'm most likely coming to Dublin and would love to fly for a pickup team. I'm not great, but I've spent a season doing 4-way combat, so at least I know when to duck. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  20. There's nothing wrong with waiting. Two of my best friends are over 25 and still haven't done the deed. Just waiting for the right woman. Or maybe I just hang out with losers. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  21. Can I help? I'll bet you've got some treasures in those old boxes. You have such great stories in your head, I can hardly imagine the pics! Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  22. Skydiving is the best thing I've ever done for my mental health. There's no pill or potion or drug made that can make me feel the way I do after a day of jumping. And 4-way combat is definitely an all-over workout. I'll bet being an instructor tires you out pretty well, too. Muscling people into place while fighting a 120 mph wind is not easy. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  23. Sounds like my plan, in reverse. Been skydiving for a couple of years, but I got the chance to take the stick in a cessna 207 a few weeks ago, and now I want to get my pilot's license. So long, money. Buh-bye. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  24. Would that be a nunber? Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  25. She's rich, she's beautiful, she's got HUGE.... tracts of land! Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
