  1. Exercise, exercise, exercise! A tired dog is a happy dog, and a happy dog is a happy owner. I have an almost 5 year old lab, 50 lbs of pure concentrated energy. And she was worse when she was a puppy. Basically we got into a routine -- 6 am, breakfast, 6:30 go to the dog park and run around for an hour, then a chew toy to distract her and out the door I go. SHe finishes her chew toy and goes to sleep all day. First thing I do when I get home is go take her for more exercise. It works out, because she's tired enough to just sleep and snuggle, and is happy because she gets attention and play time. I'm happy because I don't have a spazzy pooch jumping all over me. And you can totally tell when she's bored. I was sick the last few days and she didn't get enough exercise, so she raided the trash and kept bugging me. The yappy spazz dogs are the ones that don't get enough attention or love. Yeah, they require a lot of time and energy, but they'll give it back tenfold. If you aren't sure you can give your all to a dog, don't get one until you're sure you're ready. It's not fair to either of you, and you'll both be unhappy. 2. This reminds me of a joke (not meant as a personal attack): A guy notices a really hot blonde sitting at the bar. He walks up to her and says, "Would you fuck me for a million dollars?" She looks him up and down, then says, "Yeah, I guess so." He then says, "Well, would you fuck me for one dollar?" "Hell no! What do you think I am, a prostitute?" "We've already established that. Now we're just negotiating." 6. I don't think that's possible. And it doesn't just apply to religious matters. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  7. Sorry, but you don't get to overrule the rights of people who are licensed by their states to carry firearms. If you don't like it, tough - take the issue up with your legislators. Just because they carry a gun, does not make you unsafe. The problem you have is in your own head, with your incorrect perception of licensed gun carriers, and your fellow citizens. It must be hell going through life thinking of everyone else in that manner. Does that description fit yourself too? Oh for cryingoutloud. If you want to attack me, do it in PMs. *eagerly waits in vain* Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  8. Now we just need to get rid of the rest of those corrupt bastards. A good start, but let's finish this thing. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams

  10. This doesn't apply to good scientists, who learned the lessons they were hopefully taught. I made these sort of mistakes as an undergrad. And got a C in Organic Chemistry for it. Twice. I certainly hope I've learned my lessons. *starts praying* Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  11. Fuck the vegans, if they can't see a good thing when it's covered in caramel. My brother is dating a vegan. Nice girl, but holy shit. I thought I was picky. 14. I think we should give them a cookie and a medal. Then tell them it's not their fault that they're so confused and misguided -- society is to blame. Perhaps medication will fix their thieving tendencies, we mustn't let the opportunity to help be wasted. Then we kick the shit out of them. If only there were a way to make them ineligible to jump anywhere.... not all dz's are uspa. 15. I'm more worried about the simian that seems to think punching people is an acceptable greeting. I'm glad he seems to have moved on. I have a female friend who had a devastating encounter with this p.o.s. I have tried to warn my friends (of both sexes) about him, but everyone seems to just accept and even like him. If you want details in an effort to keep your own dz safe, PM me. 17. Did you put the TM through the wringer? There's an extremely funny video of some SDC TMs doing their practice jumps. The passengers, TMs themselves, do everything from swim out the door to sitflying. 18. I certainly hope you're coming to SDC. There's nothing else in Ottawa worth driving that long. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
  19. You must make them exactly the way my mom does. Holy yum. Mine is leek and potato soup. The key is white pepper and thyme. I just ate and now I'm hungry again. Damn you people! 21. It doesn't have a hook on the bridle that if installed incorrectly can cause a total. Is it possible to install a non-skyhook RSL so that it can cause a total? 22. I believe that people are ignorant, stupid, and quick to anger.* Adding guns to the mix just doesn't sound smart to me. You can quote statistics till you're blue in the face, but I have never heard an argument that makes sense. You claim the Constitutional right to bear arms -- fine. Just don't bear the arms near me. I have the right to feel safe walking down the street, and I shouldn't have to be packing to feel that way. I live in a place where that is still true, and I hope it stays that way. *This is not a personal attack, just my opinion Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. --Douglas Adams
