  2. Hi Wart, Yea' leave it to the Dagos and the Frogs, and the Russians claimed that they invented "sex" (that was during the Nikita daze!!) But at least the Americans invented "SKYDIVING" "MUFFDIVING" and a couple of other types of "DIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Got that!!!!!!!!????? DUDE????? PS. Why do all these DZ.Com ladies have such great smiles??????? PPS. 'Been around enough DZ's over the last 41 years to know the answer, Do you??? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

Co-ed naked Skydives because it's too hot at altitude to wear clothes in the airplane!!! 5. Refer to #1. 6. Summer makes "Cold Beer" just so outstanding!! 7. Refer to #1. 8. Going fishing, drinking beer and checking out the Chicks waterskiing in their "T" bottom bikini's!! 9. Refer to #1 and #8!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10. Follow the trend and add your own!!! 4. Hi Karri, I think the answer is a post or two down. I remember this guy and this girl practicing a "Mr. Bill" exit at the mock up at Perris one spring day some years ago. They were just wearing T-shirts, shorts and their rigs. He got in the door facing out in the crouched position hanging on to the floater bar. She got in with her back to the door, hanging on to the floater bar and then,"WRAPPED HER LEGGS AROUND HIS MID SECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" WHAT FUN!!!!!!!!!!!! They did this out of the airplane too!!! (The thing was that she was having too much fun wrapping her leggs {they started at her ankles and went all the way up to her ass!!!!} around him and I don't think he minded that!!) PS. When all this "Mr. Bill" stuff started at the DZ, since my name was "Bill," Pat Swovelin started saying,"Ohhhhh Nooooo Mr. Bill!!!" whenever I came around. The handel "stuck" and to this day the really old farts know me as "Mr. Bill!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  5. Hi Bug, Don't have the video you may be thinking of but I have all kinds of "Great" AFF-I and more videos from my early daze at New Deminsions flite school at Scare-Us-Valley in the bad old daze!! If you would really like to see those, just let me know and we'll make arrangements to send you come copies of the VHS (remember those??) They might be a bit grainy as they are 20 years old!!!! 6. Hi Spider, If you are into it, do your Aff. If you are a total aviation geek, maybe do a tandem. I was in the first "open AFF Instructor, Jumpmaster (by invitation from USPA) certification course at Perris Valley in the spring of 1982. Besides myself, among others were Pat and Jerry Swovelin, Bob Burher, Mike Wheeler, Nance Grutman (former Western Conference Director) Don Rumble and others. Bob Buhrer and Jerry Swovlen started "New Deminsions Flite School" at Perris right after that and I had the pleasure of working with them as an Instructor and JM. This was before "Tandem" was certified. Tandem came along a couple of years later and made it's way into the main stream. In the beginning, we had great success taking people from "ZERO" to AFF-I (no problem!!) One thing later with the advent of Tandem, it gives the student with no prior aviation knowledge a introduction to the aeroenviornment that will challenge them on that first AFF-I jump. So, Tandem is a good thing. However, if someone has some hours flying airplanes (eg. some hours in a cessna 150 or more!! or time flying a hang glider or even time flying model airplanes!!) than I think that bypassing the tandem jump and going straight for AFF-I is O.K.! 7. Hi Joy?, Don't really know where you're coming from?? Are you a city geek who never saw a gun unless it was on a cop or a gang banger?? I grew up in Louisiana (rural) in the 50's. Our parents gave us shot guns instead of BB guns (BB guns could put your eye out!!) (Local joke of the times!!) The deal was during hunting season we had to put food on the table!! During the summer we had to bring in the fish too!! (That's how we ate!!) Now, everyone is jumping on this "Gun Control" (BLAMING 'GUNS FOR COLUMBINE IS LIKE BLAMING SPOONS FOR ROSIE O'DONNEL BEING FAT!!!!!!) (PISS OFF A LIBERAL, BUY A GUN!!!!!)band wagon, O.K. Well, go right ahead!! I like guns, sure. I above all else thanks to my parents, Boy Scout Leaders, the local PD, hunters at Deer Camp on the Tangipahoa River, my Woodmen of the World training, and Civil Air Patrol Marksman Training have given me a great "RESPECT" for guns and their importance in our world!!!! GOT THAT??? So, yeah, I like guns. I own a few. I shoot them at tin cans. I collect them. And above all else, they are no substitute for my properly functioning penis!! (Unlike some believe that guns are a replacement for a male's malfunctioning penis!!!!) So there!! Just you remember, before there was,"Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll!!" there was,"Alcohol, Tobaco and 'FIREARMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'." SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  8. Hi DOG, So, take some time off,.. go fishing!!! WTH (What The Hell) I've been in the sport for 40+ yrs and a couple of times, (Viet Nam 68') and (Viet Nam 70') just to name a few curtailed my skydiving activities much to my chagrin!! But I put up with it and beared it!! On the other hand, you might need some time off just to figure out what's happening!! No problem. Either hang on to your gear or enough money to get new gear when you come back. (If you have a good rig, do the proper storage thing and stash it!!) Time off is O.K., it gives you a good perspective on where you are going!! You don't have to "Quit" skydiving, just take a few months off!! See how the other half lives and be glad you are a "SKYDIVER!!!!!!".........I AM!!!!! P.S. So maybe take a couple of weeks off. Just one day, show up and make a solo jump, last out of the plane from high up. Salute the pilot , fall out and just dig it! Don't have to turn any points or impress any body!! Just you and the earth!! It is O.K. to take some time off. You will be back! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out

  10. Hi 'licious, Raeford NC is not really a "Big" Dz but it has a really great Bar!! Aviators Grill and Pub has Beer, Whiskey, Wine, Food and now and then Entertainment!! The "Super Bowl Sunday Party" is always a Blast!! Wednesday is "$1.00 Beer night" and I think the Pool tourney. is on Mon. night. "Drop in!!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  11. Hi MSC, Well when it comes to "B" movies, like where's the dividing line?? Low Budget? Low Rent? Low Class? As far as Low Budget I would have to vote for Charlie Parker's rendition of "Twilight Zone" Only trouble is it never made it to the theaters and only some Old Fart Perris Geeks remember it!! Ask Kate Cooper if she's still at the DZ!! Otherwise my favorite "B" movie would have to be "The Gypsy Moths" with Burt and Deb. When it came out it was on the "A" list but time takes its toll!!! "And' as for the Porno side of the coin, you gotta see "Flesh Gordon!!" Anyone remember the "Pussycat Theaters??" That was before VHS!!!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  12. Hi JTV, Oh that's easy, It's Pat Swovelin!!! His Porsche license plate (CA) said,"SKYGOD"........do i have to say more?? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  13. Hi S-N-F, Well, after 41 years (continuous) I'm still here! My bones creek a lot when I move but I can still reach my BOC pilot chute!! So I guess I'm comitted eh? As for the initial "Jump Buzz" to wear off? Well, there was always the next "objective!!" Getting more altitude, doing RW, getting in on a 2-man, a 3-man and more (few women around back then who could do RW around ourDZ!!) there was always the next best "Hot Setup!!" ( the most advanced rig of the day) and there was always new people from far off lands who just "dropped in" for a few skydives, a couple of brews and tell some tall tales!! It has been a great time and far from over yet!!!!!!!!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  14. Hi 312, Night Tandems eh?? Sure, but why?? First jump night AFF??? How about that too!?? Get my drift? Well maybe if you posed the question, you can't see the answer and I'm not the one to try to explain it to you!! BSBD SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  15. Hi D.K., At 120 M.P.H. constantly be aware of objects moving at speeds significantly slower than you are......like the earth, for one. Also beware of the door!! Lots of bruises, broken bones and ripped off flesh can be attributed to this skydiving device!! Most uninitiated skydivers will worry about the parachute "NOT" opening!! That's the least of your worrys in that respect, it's the "Hard Openings" that get your attention, (know what I mean???) PS, Been at this sport for 40+ yrs, 3 screws in my right ankle (31MAR73) and lots of bruises, cuts, abrasions and you-name-it!! Like I told the cops at my last auto accident when Whilly Ray (Drunk as a skunk) took out me and my Chevy S-10 (turned me and it up-side-down and totaled it!!) ,"Like dude, if I'm no more tore up than I would be making 4 10-man speed stars, than I'm O.K.!!!!" You had to have been there in the old daze of small door Beech 18's to know where I'm comming from!!!! As Derral Defratis would say,"Ohhhhh the pain, the terrible terrible pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" But he'd still make the next load!! Will you????????????????????????? SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  16. Hi High!!< I like em' both, that way nobody can bitch and you have a choice!! I like when Skip had the L-O-N-G bar and grab handles on N26MA (what a jewel of a jump ship!!) I don't remember howmany people we got outside but the number was over 15!!!!!! (one hand, one foot!!!) And still room to pour a drink!!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  17. Hi D-Hall, I have 2 eyeballs that have given me fits since I've turned 40!! I've been able to do "just reading glasses" for a number of years than in 2001, it got to the point where I needed the bi-focal kind and I am thankful for the "lineless bifocal" variety!! My eyes weren't "that bad" or so I thought and for a while i just put up with skydiving without them!! Recently though, Iwent ahead and bought a pair of those "Bug Eye" type goggles that fit over your glasses and all is well on the eastern front!!!!!! I accept that my eyes will never be what they were when I was 20 years old!!! However, I'm glad that I can see and my eyes are not worse than they are!!! One thing that I can say is,"Protect your eyes!!" On a nonchalant 4-way exit on the 28th of Oct 1984, i got wacked in the right eye by my compadre's elbow. On the following Wednesday, the 31st. of Oct, I went for my usual eye exam for my glasses. All was well but the pressure (glacoma) check in my right eye was over 30 mm/hg.!! (left eye was fine only 16 mm/hg ) so the red flag went up!! That was 21 years ago and thank God I can still see!!!!! I see an Opthalmoligist every 6 mos and am currently on 2 different eye drops for glaucoma, xalatan 0.005% and Betoptic S 0.25% in my right eye!! Left eye is fine!! The bottom line is that "I can see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Shut one or both eyes and go skydive!!!!! Any way, thanks for letting me rant for a while, but please protect your eyes!! They are so precious and vulnerable!!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  18. Hi GFD, Well, you go girl!! If the cypress makes you feel good about skydiving than by all means, "Do It!!" BUT!!!!, don't use it as a crutch for your own abilities!!! My feelings are that you should not "NEED" a cypress to Skydive!! It is only there for "backup!!" I have been jumping for over 40 years with the "cypress" that resides between my left and right ear!! When that one becomes "unreliable," I'm cashin' in my chips (period!) SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  19. Hi Larry!!!!!!!!!!!!, LOL My sentiments exactly!! I still like flying in the standard RW stable position and I like to do tip-toe landings into the wind!! (No wind and I have to slide a bit) I guess it's time for me to make a visit for Air Trash Daze and we'll have to pull off a couple of "Deli Dives!!" Talking about "Backward" Skydiving, remember Gary Cobb and his BCRW "Backward CReW!!??" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  20. Greetings DOG, Well if you really want to see someone go in then go in yourself!! Don't expect some other jumper to be your entertainment!!! Fatalities may be a tragic aspect of our sport, BUT "ALL OF THEM CAN BE AVOIDED!!!!!!!" This includes your own!!!!! After being around this sport for 41 years, yes I have had the not so nice occassion to be around at a bounce (several) a lot of broken bones and other injuries (many) and fortunately a lot of good skydives. I don't know why you posted this crazy idea? I hope it is a joke or an attempt to see what people would say?? If your post is what you really think then I can truly say I'd like to know what you been smokin' because no one in their right mind would want to see someone bounce!! I've been at several and it is something I'd just as well not have been at!! I'm no better off for it and in some ways I think maybe just the opposite. SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  21. Hi John Brasher!!, Just going thru old posts looking for some info and I read yours and the part about,"Douris'es devilish grin!!" Oh Yes!! and how well I remember!! If there was ever a "Got'ya!!" Grin that's it. Also it could be as suttle as a handgrenade (with the pin pulled!!) Next time you're at the bar with Gary, "Ask him for a BatCardinal Demo!!!!!!!!!!" I did it perfect but he called me anyway because I didn't "Slosh enough beer all over the place!!!" (That's one of the rules!!) SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  22. Hi a-d, I go with Sparky on the rules. "Add Bell helmets, Pioneer suits, French or combat boots, Gutter Gear, (wh PC's or Cheapo's) and Base Pin have to weigh at least 225lbs. (No Gear-naked!!) That would give you at least a quarter-ton BASE!! The old daze at Otay, that was Lorenzo Lizaraga and Keith Cassarth!!!! SPEED!! Was the name of the game, none of this fly your position in the line up!! Occasionally, Art and his at that time Girlfriend Sylvia would be in the back of the bus and I'd her her say to him right before the count,"BURN YA'!!!!!" and out we'd go!! (I was usually in the middle of the line up back then) Sylvia would burn Art to the star and man would he be pissed for the rest of th day!!! To add insult to injury, someone would usually say,"Hey Art, 'ya let a chick burn 'ya hahahahhaha!" Where were you in '72??? Or was it 73?? The 70's were a blur and don't even ask what the 60's looked like?? Anyone remember jumping thru a "Purple Haze?? As far as rules go, (I don't know if they post any but the history is there) go to www.airtrash.com and log on to Blast from the past and read about the beginning of RW by Pat Works SCS-1, it says it all!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  23. Hi Ray, Spotting is no problem, just toss a wind drift indicator (WDI) like in the old daze. I think you can get them thru "Scare-a-gear!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  24. Hi Dvr, Yes I had a "English Racer" that's the 2 wheeled 3-speed kind!! It also had a pouch slung under the seat with a tool kit in it and an air pump mounted on the front horizontal bar. I rode it till it fell apart. I not only remember $0.25/ gal gas, I used to buy it. to add to the collection: 1. $3.50 to 7500'. 2. $5.00 to 12,500'. 3. Everybody wore either combat boots or French "Paraboots". 4. Everybody jumped a Pioneer double zipper jump suit or was in the process of getting one!! SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
  25. Hi Jen, Just like you and your husband, "Been there, done that and got the 'T' shirt!!" Amazing how the people who bitch and say you are selfish are really the selfish ones!! They only wish they had the balls to live their poor miserable lives like you do!!! Rock on! Like fine whiskey, it takes TIME!!!!!! Enjoy your life. It's like the sign I saw in front of a realestate office, it said, "Get Lots while you are young!!!" SCR-2034, SCS-680 III%, Deli-out
