  1. "I'm too busy being a kid to have one...."
  2. Just do the smart thing, and throw them into the Cracks of Doom!
  3. I didn't do it. Nobody saw me do it. Can't prove anything. And just where dd my cookies get to?
  4. Nothing, if she's doing her Kegels...
  5. The point being, that these same "authorities" define what a crime is. Today it's murder, theft and rape; tomorrow it's "thoughtcrime." Those of us opposed to the idea of national ID are, among other things, trying to preserve the possibility of acting against a future government that decides we exist for it, not the other way around. ...Or is that day already here?
  6. It's part of his charm... OK, then YOU make a quark joke! My favorite is Weird Al's spoof of James Brown's "Living in America" (from Rocky III, I think). It's called "Living With A Hernia", and I howl EVERY time!
  7. And you had to love: "I saw the Pam Anderson-Tommy Lee sex video...last time I saw a pussy pounded like that was Clay Aiken getting beat by Ruben Studdard on American Idol."
  8. Sorry, didn't mean to intrude...I saw the title and assumed you were calling me. Carry on.
  9. "The I.R.S. : the agency that handicaps the hired" "Warning: your government has determined that freedom is hazardous to your health"

    fuck work

Darn, and I thought it was a "Help Wanted" ad...
  11. PM sent, and thanks for the announcement...I love Jamie's stuff!
  12. If you haven't done so already, check out http://www.beginnerandbeyond.com for help getting started. They're the successor to the late, lamented beginnerbikes.com, and full of folks anxious to help.
  13. And neither do any of the others. They merely take cognizance of SOME of the rights free people enjoy. Some of the most important ones are enumerated within the first eight amendments; the Ninth and Tenth are there to say "we can't list all your rights here, so anything we haven't said the federal government can do, it can't do!" "Mr Franklin, what kind of government do we have?" "A Republic, madam, if you can keep it." Guess what? We couldn't... More on topic, a free society would take no notice of whether I carry a weapon or not. They would be concerned only about what I do with it. Prior restraint is slavery disguised.
  14. Good on anyone that can protect some of what they have from the fedgoons. May I grow up to be one of them! Better yet, may we all grow up one day and starve the bloated government at all levels of its lifeblood and only power: our money.
  15. The optimist believes we live in the best of all possible worlds. The pessimist fears that this is true!
  16. Preach it, brother! You're laying THE TRUTH out there now!
  17. Better watch out, AirMail...look what the Cylons did to the Colonials Hell yes, I'd go. Tomorrow. Later today. Whenever.
  18. So what's that stand for these days? "Bad British Comedy"?
  19. Too true, that. You would have to have been raised in a culture that specifically rejected the idea that a person is merely one cog in the wheel of State, another small cell of the body politic, useless and meaningless of itself. Subject (in all meanings of the word) to the whim of royalty or government. On the other hand, if you had been raised where a person is a value in and for himself, you might be more receptive to the idea of personal freedom, and the means for individuals to protect that freedom. Please be patient...most of this nation is desperately trying to catch up to you. Only a few still cling to that outdated individualism...
  20. See that? That's why we have a Second Amendment and a inherent distrust of government...for the days when they decide what's "sensible" and "allowed". Instead of being a limited servant of the people who elected him, this bozo and those of his ilk would make themselves the rulers of us all. "Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of power. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters." --Daniel Webster
  21. Jaye, pick up the remote and tune to anything BUT the Olympics...there must be one or two channels that contain no references....
  22. You're right, a MAN would prefer being wanted to being needed...unfortunately, there are boys everywhere, and they can be hard to tell from men until you're in too deep.
  23. OK, so all the surgical cases done at UNC Hospitals here in Chapel Hill are input into an integrated, computerized system. This system shows OR availability, orders supplies, drives the billing office...basically, everything depends on it. Still with me? At about 10:30 AM, we're supposed to send the schedule to get anesthesia teams assigned for the next day (today, that's Monday), then put them into the system and disseminate the schedule to the end users. Only at 9:30, the whole system went Tango Uniform. When it "recovered", it had reversed all the changes made this morning, and no one could make new changes. No ETA on a fix. In the meantime, we had to cobble together a half-assed schedule in Excel, and get that out. I was supposed to be at work until 3:30 this afternoon; I got to leave at 4:00...to go to Duke Hospital at Durham to go to work! Once there, it was the usual Friday evening disaster...the day shift was in the usual hurry to go, and didn't bother to tell me half the stuff that was going on. I'm just hoping they got everthing at least somewhat right, but history's against me.... I do this to make money for my rig, so I can start jumping again--it better be as good as I remember!
  24. [replyWhat is their major malfunction, privates? Wouldn't malfunctioning privates be their problem?
