  1. I know I don't post on here but once a year, but Lee is going to be missed by more people then can possibly be imagined. I've known him for many years, and his wedding was still probably the best wedding I have ever been to. I'll miss you lee. ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  2. so besides HS who else have they invested in? I mean I know that NHL contract was a much better bet then XM and their crazy MLB and college sports packages and you may be right on the fact that they are tops because they were first, but they still have 3 million plus subscribers vs sirius's like 300,000... I think they said they needed some 1.5 million new customers in the next 5 years to cover HS contract.. u can bet XM will own sirius unless HS REALLY boosts their sales ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  3. Shimell is right, when u activate or refresh the unit u have to leave it on. if u turn it off, it resets activation. sometimes its hard to get that outta the tech support. activate it, and leave it on until you not only get some channels, but until the channel guide is filled out. I've activated plenty, and never had trouble if u dont turn it off. when you call in to activate it make sure it is on, and leave it on until the ENTIRE channel guide is loaded usually takes 5-10 mins ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...

  8. which ones? the ones that have posted on this board that dont actually work in tallahasse, or the ones that the chicago tribune supposedly talked to? cause im in the "hotel industry" and everyone I know in it have had people screaming at us all week for kicking these poor homeless people out. we have had media people pretending to be refugees, to see if they could get a room, and trying to find someone to say no, then it ends up all over the news. so when u got people trying to trick u so they can have a story, people yelling at you to ur face and on the phone for being insensitive to the homeless, when its not really the case. its a little hard not to take it personally. ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  9. most people have gone home. just about the only people that are still here are from new orleans. everyone else has gone home to try an clean up/ see what happened. unfortunatly you cant even get into most of NO, so those poeple have had to stay, but that amounts to about 4 people per hotel hell I had atleast 10 people today come in and offer their rooms for them, after they already drove into town. but we already had everyone taken care of, so it wasnt needed. like i said before this was just a bad rumor that was started. it is nothing more then that. ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  10. well hell i can tell u where there are about 60 rooms set aside for this weekend and more specifically for monday, cause that was the only day people were worrying about. i can tell u that the hilton, both cabot lodges, all 3 hamptons, homewood sweets, the double tree raddison, both courtyards, fairfield inn and residence inn, most of the major hotels in tally have taken care of their guests. i can tell u that first hand. there are a bunch of not so majors that i cant answer for like the days inns, la quintas etc. but as i said before i know of about 60 rooms set aside for evacuees and only them, so that people arent getting kicked out. and of all those hotels i listed i dont even think COMBINED there are 60 evacuees in the hotels. trust me people arent sleeping on cots.and if they are there are some people not doing their jobs, and some people not looking around. cause their are rooms set aside, again its because of some very nice people that gave up their rooms for this weekend, but everyone in tally is taken care of. trust me I talk to these people everyday, and have helped organize some of these rooms being held. if their is someone sleeping on a cot in a bunk house somewhere, that is because of choice not force ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  11. see bold above ^ hmm ok gee at that rate it'll take less then 20 weeks to even out! ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  12. you know whats funny about the media... its most of the time they got the story wrong.. I work at a hotel in tallahassee, and had umpteen calls about these "poor evacuees we were kicking out" we didnt kick anybody out! neither did the hampton in question. this was a bad rumor started by an old fuck that didnt bother to listen and a young manager that didnt express himself right. I know the manager at the hampton that you all seem to dispise(sp?). he was asked about having an evacuees reservation extended a week before the game, and the manager said, "well we are sold out that week end, but we are working on it and we'll see what we can do" I know this because I SPOKE TO HIM, and the front desk staff that was on duty. Im good friends with them. the guy got all pissed off and starting saying he was being kicked out! its bullshit. there are hardly any evacuees in tally anymore! many people were kind enough to cancel their rooms, but that particular hampton only needed to find 4 rooms! just 4 for people that needed to extend and they did. it has been made out to seem like our hotels are full of them, and really most have gone home. ALL VOLUNTERY! so stop blasting our hotels, because we have taken care of them, and have kicked no one out. yes we did need help by some people with rooms, but I dont know of 1 hotel in tally that kicked anyone out! stop believing everything u see in the news ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  13. thank you, I agree. I'm so tired of hearing well in so in so we pay 150 a gallon! I know the price in the US is low, but when the price doubles, i dont care if its 30 cents a gallon or 10 dollers a gallon, its still double what u budget. I do feel sorry for everyone that their gas is that expensive, but their government has set it up that way as a deterent to driving... we havent, ever. so we are set up as a society to be relient on vehicles. and when that cost doubles, its a strain! ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  14. FINALLY some real solutions! ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
  15. outta curiosity, who decides what a fair and resonable profit is? cause personally I know people that are selling FSU-Miami tickets for this weekends game for 300 bucks. and people ARE paying that... but the ticket only cost 45... seems to me if people are paying it, its fair and resonable. Now I don't think gas is a different story because we as a society are so dependent on gas and oil( which is our own fault) and I dont agree with bill statements of change ur life that'll teach 'em. But I cant blame companies for charging more if people are willing to pay it. especially if these "rumors" are true. What if gas stations really dont get gas.. and they shut their doors for a day or more. everyone is quick to bitch about not getting their gas, but how bout I shut ur company down for sometime against ur will giving u nothing to sell, but still with bills to pay. bet u'd wished u charged a bit more for ur product earlier that year. Its a supply and demand thing, and if supply is down and demand is up, prices will go up. its up to the company as to what to charge, and its up to the consumer as to what to pay... You did good Jay by shopping around, didnt pay the 5 dollar +, but if people are willing to pay it dont fault the company for charging it. cause fact is ur not "forced" to shop there. I do think people are forced to by gas (again our own fault but none the less) but as long as there are still companies selling at "fair market price" what ever the hell that is.... its just basic capitalism ---- -God, you are the perfect amount of dumb...
