  6. Been there.. done that... Glad to hear you are ok.. everybody should pay attention to this and reiterate it to the newer and older WS'ers... this is totally unnecessary but does happen. HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

  8. I just wanted to give props to the Aerodyne customer service department. They know how to treat people right. I was having problems with cocking my pilot chute, after one of their reps took a look at it with me @ Z-hills he concurred that something was wrong with it... Within a few weeks I had a brand new pilot chute, bridle, and even D-bag at no cost to me. I must say it is great to see a company stand behind their product. I highly recommend their equipment and I will be their customer for as long as I skydive. Thanks again Aerodyne! Daniel Roquette Puerto Rico HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

  12. I would put one in a carry on type bag like the airline employees use and throw the other one on my back as my "personal Item"... If I am not mistaken you are allowed one carry on and one personal item... I do not feel comfortable checking in 5k worth of equipment when the airlines only dish out 1k+- for lost baggage. just my $.02 HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733

  14. hey WWarped.. you want to see some crystal clear evidence of the hypocrisy mentioned in this thread. well here it is man: http://www.egwingsuits.com/forum/index.php?topic=31.0 read it then you can comment on the hypocrisy. This is Utah's personal experience. If you want Miles' you just have to look for it but I guarantee you will find it because it is the utter truth. Or better yet give the man a call. 15. Skydive LV sucks... The DZ in mesquite rocks... Brad the DZO is a really cool guy and deserves to get all of Skydive LV's business. How and why does the USPA allow them to be part of the association when the DZ does not let USPA members jump there? Rats who dont allow upjumpers should not run a DZ. Down with the rats and lies. up with mesquite. Live and direct from Puerto Rico.. Dan PS... we have way better weather then LV. HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  16. He's doing his job. Him jumping after the students would just complicate things. The ONLY thing the instructor should be paying attention to is the safety and education of the students, in that order. Tom might have his reasons for walking off.. My FJC instructor jumped after the students every time. I watched very closely every time to see a properly executed BASE jump was made. It really helped me realize some of my mistakes and how a pro does it. Its correct and more important a SAFE example for me to follow. Other than that I have to agree with the few other brave souls on the forum who disagree with an FJC on ESPN regardless of who is the instructor. Maybe by next time this year their can be a long line of FJC prospects to throw off the bridge... then the year after a bunch of mass produced students standing on top of objects all over the world. Then.......... what is the point of involving the media? I have always believed BASE should be on the dl. BASE is not for everyone..... though everyone does seem to watch ESPN. Maybe some have forgotten how many illegal jumps are made in this world. Less BASE in the media = less paranoia from security at objects. Dan HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  17. I only have one thing to say about this old fart thread.. Johny Muff was the bomb... He lived life to the fullest and was cool regardless who he hung out with. MUFF MUFF MUFF... oh yeah.. Kevin you are pretty cool too... hahaha Come back down to the island for some WS action out of the 182!!! HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  18. hahha what does tony know!!! that was funny... he has more experience than a bunch of us put together. My best friend flies a sabre2 135 loaded at about 1.4 I fly a pilot 190 at about 1.4 We are both very happy with our canopies. I think both or for that fact most of the canopies on your list are excellent at a proper WL for WS. It is a personal choice on this one... HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  19. I totally agree with you Jeb on everything except this last statement. I think that looking for the best option to avoig oing in is a trait most BASE jumpers have though all should have. HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  20. an AAD is supposed to be like a sure thing in an emergency. I almost bought a vigil but bought Cypress2 and am happy with my decision. Cypress has the most saves that I know of and a track record for this type of device is the decision maker for me. The newer ones ie. Vigil and Argus have already had one or multiple recalls.... Do you want something like that in your rig as your last alternative to saving your life... when you go splat somebody will just say.. oh.. you didnt get the last service bulletin for you xyz AAD... Or just save the AAD cash for more jumps.... HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  21. Yeah... I am def. going to get mine tacked... Had you seen how my steering line was totally wrapped around the ring... and not moving one bit... you'd feel the same way. Thank god I kept a cool head and had the alti to deal with the problem. I had to climb up the riser and reach above the steering line to give it slack so I could undo the wrap... and yes; the entire time the canopy was spinning very fast. I'd like to hear if new Aerodyne rigs that are sold assembled are having this done. If not I would highly recommend them to do so. HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  22. I jump Icon. I got it because they were the only ones that had a demo rig that fit me at the WFFC 05. I had previously been jumping a Jav. Odesy that was too big for me. The Icon fit me perfect and I got a super deal. I have had a few issues with my rig.... D-bag stitching came apart in less than 100 jumps. Aerodyne made me a new one for free. I have also had some issues with their soft links as of late. Cocking my extra long pilot chute is also tedious... you need to have a PHD in packing to know how to do it. but overall i am happy with my rig. It has served me well and is very comfortable. I would buy another one.... Isn't that the most important question.... HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  23. You guys got it right.. I am talking about the metal rings on the slinks. I am going to have to see if I can get that done down here. Rigging is very limited in Puerto Rico. But as someone posted earilier; this is a problem and I think it should be adressed ASAP. I bought my rig complete from aerodyne and paid for assemble; why didn't the slinks already come tacked down? shouldn't this be mandatory... I almost had to cut away because of this! HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
  24. I had an incident this past weekend where the steering line got wrapped around the small metal ring that link the risers to the steering lines. I have been told that they should be tacked down inside the riser so they are completely out of view. I have always tried to hide the rings within the risers when I pack but it seems they do not always stay there. my rig: aerodyne icon, pilot, smart would tacking these rings in the center of the risers solve this problem? 25. Why is a skydiving WS jump being discussed in this forum? Yeah.. It was close.. but if they had both agreed on the flybye previously I do not see the great danger in performing this kind of stunt... It's done all the time on WS jumps. My friends have similar footage; I have similar footage... Flybye another WS no big deal.. Flybye a TM without previous consent is not in the same book.. Regardless I think this is the wrong place to discuss it. HISPA 72 ----- "Muff Brother" 3733
