For SURE, i would NOT consider just some old ANYBODY.... with a plane. It's NOT that simple. You need an EXPERIENCED jump pilot... NOT someone who "will try to OPEN the door AND try to keep the plane level and ON heading " while your guy struggles to get OUT the door, and likely BLOWS the spot, while doing so.. Just HOW well versed in our Sport IS your fiance'?? I'd say. concentrate on the wedding,, and not some showboat skydive... jus' sayin' ... jmy

Never had a manual but basically..... 1. stake the apex down. 2. find someone pretty , to "hold tension" 3. 4 line check it. 4. Shake it . Flake it, Assure that the apex lines and the steering lines are all in the center and NO panel OR Part of a panel is "grabbing " any of those lines. At this point you can get all fussy fussy about it, and " Lay it down and Christmas Tree " it and then fold it all Back together, in 3rds..... OR Else Just sleeve that bad Boy. !! And Thank,,, your "tension Holder" as you set the lines and canopy onto the ground.. and AT Least.... MAKE an ATTEMPT to get her phone # ... 5. Do up the suspension lines assuring that the first two bights, lock the sleeve, ( or if you were "progressive " the P.O.D. Or d bag ) closed. 6. finish stowing Allll the lines 7. S fold the sleeve or place the P O D onto the pack tray. 8. coil and stow the apex lines 9. Undo the bungees on the sides of the container ComPress the Pilot Chute,, ( MA 1 or A 3 ) on top of the sleeve and pull the sides together ,on TOP of the PC Cap.. Mate up the container sides Grommets over Cones. PIN a CENTER cone with the BOTTOM pin from the ripcord. 10. Dress out the top flaps mating up the pin and cone arrangement and pin THAT with it's proper pin.... 11. dress out the bottom flap and mate up the grommets and cone and THEN while keeping your knee ON the center cone, Pull the bottom pin out,,, replace with the correct pin, and put the bottom pin into THE BOTTOM Cone.. 12. tidy up anything sticking out... HOOK UP the bungees,,, put the ripcord handle into the pocket on the main lift web, grab your reserve container......jumpsuit, Para-Boots, Bell Helmet, and Altimaster 1 and Head to Manifest.... They "were guaranteed, to land "...NOT necessarily WHERE you wanted,,,, and not necessarily gently,,, BUT you WOULD Land !!! also pretty damn much guaranteed to OPEN...( at least in MY experience ) i made 25 or so, jumps on a cheapo 28 footer...WON an accuracy meet (novice class) with a 28' LOPO, when i had 19 Jumps!!!! hahaha. then made 4 or 5 on a Para Commander until i had a chance to try a French Papillon..!!!

How about the smell of Ben-Gay...ointment ?? after a full weekend of " feet & knees together " "eyes on the horizon ".. I'm into my 5th decade now. Never missed making jumps in each of the included years...1972 to the present... 42 years of jumping. over 61 years on this planet...Better than 66 % of my lifetime...

Allow or Disallow whomever you want...it's your kingdom. It's a shame that you don't have ANY willingness to Instruct this newbie, instead of Bashing him... I have run that NY State Thruway 5 or 6 times a year, since 1971. I always had heard of DZs in the mohawk valley duanesburg and saratoga areas... but never jumped at any of them, since what i heard ,,,, wasn't always so flattering..If you're a product of that area.. then you're helping to make my point.. The Buffalo/Rochester crowd (Frontier ) hosted an annual summertime boogie ( DC 3, then years Later CASAs and Otters ) at a county airport 3 miles from the thruway, exit 48 yet i can't recall any large or even small contingent from those DZs...visiting... Because i was usually heading PAST that area, to either visit Family in Putnam County, or to jump turbines at The Ranch.. and since i hadn't ever Met jumpers from that area, i always just " kept on truckin' " your post here along with another recent thread about injury and Staff concerns at another DZ,,, certainly will NOT have me in any hurry to stop by. sorry jmy A 3914 D12122

it's a tough subject, with lots of variables... one of my brothers came up with a interesting idea, many years ago... Invent a machine that can artificially AGE a person. Instead of "housing prisoners for years and years AND instead of "executing " them,,,,, in one 60 minute "session" the Perpetrator is Aged,, whatever number of years their sentence dictates.. Become convicted, and within one month that person enters this chamber and is AGED 5, 10 , 20, or 30 YEARS.... and then departs the machine, THAT many years OLDER... IF they were 30 years old at the time of the crime,,, then instantly, they have forfeited those crucial, and valuable years, which they THOUGHT they would HAVE to enjoy... Sentences of "Life" would automatically require the machine to bring that person to the age of 100. IF they emerge from THAT,,,, and are still alive...so be it.. LIFE for them will NEVER be the same,,,,, AS is the case for many victims..... A young person who "receives" 10 or 15 years...and suddenly has blown right THROUGH their 30s or 40s might just very well RE-Think any attempts at recidivism,,,, and hopefully would reconsider continuing criminal behavior, Such people will absolutely Regret past behavior...and not repeat it. One of our Primary incentives in this world is the idea that we CAN live a long and hopefully happy life, as long as we adhere to "sensible socially determined ways of behavior ". Take THAT away from people, and make it clear to the "general public" that such procedures WILL occur to Anyone who chooses a criminal way of life... With THIS approach, (which is NOT a Joke )... there IS no "executing, of Anyone" there is waaay less cost and effort to incarcerate people for what often amounts to decades and decades , Prison operational costs are reduced and perhaps eliminated, and there could be a cottage industry in Mass producing and operating such Aging centers... so this is a "semi-serious" suggestion. Science very likely HAS the technology to implement it. and should do so,, Before Star Date 2100... ( so now you Know that my Bro, came up with the idea,,, after many many sessions, watching Dr. Bones McCoy CURE people with the wave of a handheld rejuvenator..) He figures why can't it work , as an aging device...and I Agree with him... That is All.... jmy

Re : CASA i was on the left rear floater slot of a pre-gripped launch where one of the out facing jumpers ( the guy gripped to ME ) somehow got his right legstrap "caught" on part of "the static line retrieval system ". and so when WE went.... HE didn't it tumbled a 6 way base. I dropped My grips but the guy on my right shoulder hung on...and backlooped.. so i dislocated my right shoulder... good story.. but i have to get out the door, to a bachelor party..twenty minutes AGO !!!

What WAS the exit altitude??? You run into self centered people Every Where..... Every day......Not surprising I suppose,, to find That On a Dropzone..... You have your Good Ones,,,, and you Have you Not-So-Good Ones.... Horsing around with a Tandem Client should always be discouraged and Groping, ANY of them,,, seems to me, like grounds for dismissal seems like a classic case Of "shooting the messenger "

If someones' declared wishes, are to be, " a little here a little there, some tossed upon the wind, some sprinkled at geographic places of significance, maybe a small amount saved in the perpetual care of loved ones "...then it seems to me to be a noble gesture and one which can only be accomplished with the help of Family & Friends... the last time I jumped a Back Up Shoot...it was a 28 foot 7TU..and it was decades ago... I DO however, try to wear a helmet on every jump.. it holds my audible.
