  6. I hate that!!! Flannel sheets are the BOMB DIGGITTY!!!!!! Oh man I gotta go with mailin here. I love that feeling when you first climb in bed and the sheets and pillows are cold. It drives me nuts when I get upstairs and my wife has warmed them up on me. I prefer she let me warm them up for her! Other things I am thankful for The laugh of my children when we play together. The look in my wife's eyes when she gets inspired. The smell of chocolate chip cookies in the oven. That distinct smell of the air at 14000 feet. The sound the ocean makes as the tide rolls in and the smell of salt in the air. The feeling you get when you are in a town you have never been to before. The smile on my daughter's face when I tell her how beautiful she is. The feeling I get when a package arrives addressed to me. The feeling you get when you finish a good book. The warmth of the sun and the touch of the air when you stand outside with your eyes closed. The joy of discovery or when something that has you stumped finally clicks. The new book smell and the scent of old books. The touch of supple leather. The scent of a woman's hair. The touch of my wife's hand on my face when she thinks I am asleep. I could go on, but these are the things that immediately come to mind.
  7. IMAGINATION. Imagination leads to wonder and wonder leads to knowledge. Imagination is free of constraints and allows one to search in places that others might never look for answers. It leads to great discoveries and inventions. Knowledge tends to puff up ego and retards true inspiration. Knowledge is also something that can be gained and learned but imagination is a gift.
  8. You're hormone therapy is finished and we get to see the results?
  9. I think you need to relocate to a state where the law is a little more sane. Remind me to drive around not throught PA from now on. THat sate is wicked.
  10. Yeah around 11:30 this morning in Columbus, it started to flurry and ice. WTF? IT's freakin the end of April! I hate Ohio.
  11. Looks like quite a few of us have been taught well. Yay!!!!
  12. Question, how do you install updated software in the Neptune?
  13. Holy crap that is one helluva wing loading!
  14. SFTU dude! Never mind, I wont be there, so what do I care! lol Okay, I am confused. Do youlike Jimmy Buffet and you think I ragged on him? Or do youhate Jimmy Buffet and you think I would suggest him? Persoanlly, I like Jimmy Buffet. So bite me.
  15. I voted democrat one year. But it was ok cuz he didn't win. BWAHAHAHAAAAAA!
  16. I'm not sure what that would be, but I certainly do not mean I would give them advice on what to do in a certain situation. And I would never give any advice to a person on student status. I have no place talking there at all. I mean if someone with less jumps than me, say they have 26 and just got their A were to ask me what the landing pattern is because they never jumped there, I can point them to the winds heading and the arial photo and show them the 1000 foot area could I not? Or is that even too much to tell someone? How could this be wrong answering that type of question? Certainly if it led to more complicated questions I would, without hesitation, direct them to a much higher authority. Is my thinking really wrong here?
  17. That's nothing, in 79 we had a blizzard in Ft. Lauderdale Fl! You want to talk about a problem! we got about 1/16 inch of accumulation on vehicles and it made the streets damp. The whole city shut down for 10 minutes! Whew what a rough winter that was
  18. I have not given up anything that I consider not worth giving up. If I get to the point that my obssession starts to cost me the relationships I have with my wife, kids or God, or begins to affect my ability to pay my bills and provide for my family then it will be too costly for me to participate in this sport. Anything less than that really does not matter because I am only talking about things or relationships with people that are fleeting. I only have one truly close friend outside of those mentioned above and he started skydiving less than a week after I did so no worries there.
  19. I can see this happening. I am always afraid that my enthusiasm will come across as advice when I am talking to people, especially those newer than me. When someone with less jumps than me asks me (as happened this weekend) for advice, I tell them who on the dropzone they should talk to. I am learning slowly who is the best to ask about certain disciplines and I send the person best qualified and if I am unsure who to send them to, I send them to the DZO. I make it very clear that I am unqualified to give the advice they are looking for. Now if they ask me about landing pattern or what a breaked turn is or something simple like that, I answer their question because that is something I learned. I see no harm there.
  20. Yeah but where cuz I here it is pretty nasty in Cleveland right now . . .
