I have two, one main, one reserve, both rounds. On the main, I hit a clearing in the woods maybe 20 feet across, snagged a branch, which broke, so I made it to the ground. Bad spot, high winds. Had maybe 50 jumps. For the reserve, I landed in the pines, stopped with feet maybe 3 feet off the ground. It is surprisingly difficult to get out of your harness without falling, even when it's only 3 feet.

Well, that's going to depend on where you live, and whether you're really vegetarian or just don't eat animals. If you're not vegan, then Indian restaurants offer a lot of choices. If you don't mind a little animal in the broth/sauce, then there are a lot of dishes at Chinese and Thai restaurants. If you are vegan, gets a lot tougher. You can specify no chicken broth at Chinese places. There are also salad bars most everywhere. Ethiopian restaurants usually have some dishes. Sometimes you can get a truly Vegan burrito.

I wear my prescription glasses, usually under goggles or Z1. They are wrap around, so I can wear them for freefall, but my eyes get dried out, and teary during trackoff. Hop/pop would be no problem. I wear gloves, even when I don't wear a jumpsuit.

I don't see the purpose of this person jumping without a helmet. They should, however, understand that it is no big deal. They should be able to remove their helmet under canopy (or in freefall) if necessary. Helmets of the type most skydivers wear are good for light incidental hits, like someones foot in your face in 4-way, and not much else.

Are there official requirements for license holders? I went 18 months one time without jumping, and just went back to skydiving. Probably started with a two-way. I had maybe 800 jumps at the time. RB shows up maybe 3-4 times a year for a day of jumping, we go up and do 8 to 14-ways with him.

Mid winter, I'd go for somewhere warmer with more sure clear weather, if I were travelling anyway - Eloy comes to mind. I'm local to Lodi, and there's been plenty of good days for jumping this winter.

Good for you! Are you also able to snivel onto the loads in mid-July? I'll be out for those, but not on the May ones.

We don't have a start of season. Things are slower during the rainy/cool winter, but there's jumping straight through.

I put 900 jumps on my first set of 825 lines on my Stiletto 135. Nothing was worn, but I probably should have replaced them at about 200 jumps sooner for trim. I load mine at 1.31, about the same as for you. I wouldn't be amazed to hear that heavier loaded canopies were more sensitive to trim, and would need replacing sooner. After relining, flare was better and openings were more snivelly, like when it was new.

I'd give it at least 24 hours, more if practical. I'm older and wiser than I used to be (mostly older).

If you were at Eloy, that DZ is at 1500' MSL. When I go there, I can tell that I'm jumping at a higher DZ, and it's not the temperature. I agree that it's not another size for the temperature change from place to place, as my 50MSL home DZ gets to 105 in the summer. Maybe an effective size change from winter to summer...

Maybe someone can chime in about wing loading differences between low alititude airports, where most of us jump, and Colorado where you are. How much larger of a canopy do you need at 5000' MSL than at 50 feet MSL? I've read that the Jedei is more ground hungry than the Samurai, but I've only jumped the Samurai. Samurai definately dives more than a Stiletto or a Katana.
