  1. Have used the mini cricket 130 2 times. Once in Eloy mid summer heat. Opened very fast, solid on heading, good body position, PLF landing. Came up about 2 feet shy of the pea pit. Less lift in the heat of summer. Took a wrap on the steering lines did some test flare to get the least descent rate. Second ride in Dallas springtime. Cooler air than summer in Eloy. Had a baglock type mal.Messed with it, picked up speed, lost altitude awareness, cutaway while standing upright, pulled reserve immediatelly, fell onto my back as the reserve deployed, pilot chute bridle and freebag deployed over left shoulder, freebag hit my head and spun on the way up resulting in a few line twist. Doing my best to keep the risers even as i kicked out of line twist, the mini cricket stayed above my head and did not spiral. Could have landed on a dirt road but chose a moderately muddy field near a dirt road just in case the reaper had more in store for me. Flared without a wrap stood me up softly. My suggestion is to go with the recommended weight limit for the cricket series reserve. I would'nt go with the tso'd weight limit. These reserves are very tough. I heard from a Master rigger who had tested the racer sport and tandem using the cricket. I forget the enormous amount of weight and speed that they used.
  2. $55 to $75 per month. Where do i sign up? I currently have coverage. Would like to have better 'major accident' insurance plan. Mr.Eric, could you please email me with info.? please?
  3. Each type of turn is a trick. Each trick is a toy in my toybox of tricks deliverable on any skydive. Given that the variables such as clear airspace, comfortable with landing area, time and space allow them. For a turn to become a trick it must be tried and true and comfortable to perform. Try 90's enough, it becomes comfortable and then becomes a trick. Landing a straight in appraoch using double front risers to gain speed and descent, letting off fronts then applying the brakes to plane out bleed off airspeed and the final shutdown, should also be a 'trick' in your toybox prior to going for higher speed landings. Nevertheless, I like combo's. A combo is more than one event(turn) to gain speed along with setting up for the final throw.
  4. Life in swell. Swell is here,it's got size,it's got power! Tomorrow I will live in swell at seaside reef just after high tide. Crew'n up for big swell monday, would you like to go?
  5. right time of the year for some big south swells to start making the Wedge pump. Is summertime in SoCal
  6. Is eleven really that high a number of skydivers?
  7. Good think'n. And ladies, rescent pics please. Past boogie pics could be an easy give away!
  8. Like tongue. Because i can hold the switch housing with my teeth, smile laugh and scream, and depress the switch with my tongue at any given moment. Some tongue switches work better than others of the same make.
  9. What are you most talented at of 3 things biting, blowing,or tongue'n?
  10. I've never seen the wedge pump'n. Would really like to go there, say next week after the swell has kicked my butt for a couple of days.I'll more than likely surf sandiego county between Solana Beach (seaside reef) up to San Clemente (old mans&the point). Looking forward to surfing 'the point' when the faces are 9-12 feet walling lines reeling and connecting with the inside from over 400 yards out again. Jumping in San diego saturday. Surf trip sunday, monday, teusday, wednesday. I could be in your area teus.or wed. (running rocks)The greatest excercise is when you enjoy how and where you are as well as having some adrenaline topping it off! I seem to be drawn to the sports where'paying the price' is ever present. The price I will hopefully not have to pay much of is 'the wave tax'. I'm hoping to have atleast an 80% success rate in the big swell.meaning that wave for wave only 20% will be the 'no shit, there I was, thought i was going to die' feelings. Wash up on the beach, rest, and paddle back out for more.
  11. Thanks man! Having vision is a wonderful thing to possess. Good choice in colors! Enjoy your flights!
  12. HeheheheheHahahahaha. Now that was funny. Sorry your color blind Fitz. Good choice in my opinion dude.
  13. Da wedge be happn'n dis sun.mon.teus. ya. Big Swell hit'n near ya. i be in it, south of ya if ya wanna go then post here. Bring camera if ya hav'nt the balls to go out in it it'll be freak'n powerful to watch! Ya you could see some of my headown tricks combined with surfing. Some o' dem lips can really throw a man. Last big swell, went from the bottom to the lip at about 12 foot face to be flung in front of the face flying headown into shallow sandy reef to be pinned to the ocean floor for everlasting moments whilst being run over by the large wave to then stand up in kneedeep water to run for my life as another freight train of a wave was rearing up to swallow me whole once again. Love'n every moment! How this story helps with the young freeflyer? uhh, never give up on your passion!

    FF vs. Swimming

In a medium such as water. In some ways 360's can be way fast. such as wiping out once a fat wave of the ocean has slammed into you, much like beginning freeflying. disorientation, spinning, caught in a moment of unknowingness. Ok, in still water it is way different.Slow
  15. My experience has been, non-crossbrace canopies front riser pressure becomes lighter with the smaller wings, weight adds other factors too. Large wing heavy pressure, small wing less heavy pressure. crossbrace canopies load highly no matter once a 270 is completed with front riser input.
  16. Highly visible for my own safety, easier to recover if it does'nt blend with terrain and trash.
  17. For sure DZO's have varios strategies for business. Like to see DZo's interaction with their customers and a true smile. When i observe a DZo enjoying themselves on their dz it makes me smile and feel good to be there. What i've learned about DZo's in general, there are several good ones. There have been asshole DZo's (1 deceased in Co.), i've dealt with and no lomger deal with them. This holds true to asshole skydivers/people. There are way more nice ones to deal with than are assholes. i enjoy the people in skydiving, not the assholes.
  18. (But a boyfriend/FJI combination is fucking wrong.) sorry, slightly off subject:Do you think this is true for riggers servicing of the girlfriends skydiving gear? One step further : rigger servicing ex-girlfriends skydiving gear?
  19. You're crazy dude. Just read davelepka's post over and over again, cuz he's right!
  20. I like that kinda wisdom John, thanks! Haaack Tooooie!
  21. Surprising enough there are way less fatalities due to separation between groups. Are you looking for a clear/bulletproof answer on how to judge separation? One way that I know has worked well is having an jumprun coordinator in the aircraft(call'm what you want, you get the idea)hav'nt seen this method done in years. Mr.Mullins has done well with taking full responsibilty as the pilot in command. Todays young skydivers not only scare me when they go out after me, also have very little experience in spotting. Billvon's /2 may work well. I'll give that thought as i judge separation between my group and the next. Seems each day has it's very own perfect scenario for separation. Usually the amount of time between groups is said among jumpers and sometimes by manifest, usually after a jumper complains about the separation given on their previous jump. Please help me to understand, just what is the latest strategy for separation? Was time, 45 degrees, what is the proper use of terms regarding separation to tell jumpers?
  22. Why keep count anyway? Does doing a skydiver multiple times count as 1 each? Another ? How many times in a day have you done the EFS ritual? E may be before or after F, F may be before or after S etc.. All 3 must be completed before beginning again to really count as one complete EFS experience! Some skydiving rituals are really fun!
