  2. the US-led occupation of Iraq as a money-making scheme for companies making weapons or aiding reconstruction efforts - specifically naming the American firm Halliburton, AP said." Osama's just pissed because he didn't have any stock options.
  3. In a way yes, jump 13 I went to another DZ to pick up a jumpsuit. I'd been there the previous week and made a skydive. I buy my jumpsuit and the DZO says too me if you want to make a jump have someone show you how to pack that chute you jumped last week its laying on the floor. So I flat pack this main with some help and get it ready to put it in the container and the DZO grabs my helper to go get the fuel truck. Meanwhile another kind sole steps up and offers to put the main in the container and does so, this is the part I remember best because at this DZ I'm at they like ROL deployment for some reason. So I watch this guy put the pin in the closeing loop and than he folds the PC and stuffs it in the leg pouch, the excess bridal he than shoves up under the flap of the container. Good to Go. I get on a load with three other guys and we plan a four way skydive, well the four way went to shit right from the start, but I did manage to hook up with one of the guys. And since I had no idea how to track the plan was for me to pull at my normal altitude 4000 maybe 4500. I pitch the hackey and nothing happens, I try to look and I can't see my PC, I'm going slightly head down and I look at my altimeter and I'm at three grand, the thought runs thru my brain I'm gonna die. I pull silver and saddle out at 2000. I land ok off DZ and a kind sole helps me find the free bag and the handle. Did I not cock the PC or was the bridle stuck under the flap? I'll never know, so in a roundabout way I have packed a mal and it was a total. I'll just add its very exciting when your parachute doesn't function as you expect it to. blue skies jerry
  4. You might want to direct your post at Bodypilot90 he brought Hitler up, not me I was just making a funny. And while I think there are some pathological aspects to GWB (greed, lying ) comes to mind, I don't think he'll be killing six million jews anytime soon, however he's got eight months left to rack up the Iraqis. blue skies jerry
  5. That attachment is disgusting..... I think its funny as hell. Perhaps bodypilot90 enjoyed it. I might have made the same comparison when S H marched into Kuwait, however thats not the case today. think about it. blue skies jerry
  6. would you have also stood by when Hiltler was killing thousands? ______________________________________________________________ Same shit different asshole. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked Richard Nixon you'll love George w Bush
  7. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Wendy was this a union or non-union job? I should say in the construction industrie, fireing on a whim is normal, (one man layoff) the guy either cuts it or he doesn't. And a lot of employers shop their employees, offer a weeks worth of work to check you out. blues jerry
  8. You don't have to care, work hard, or be especially skilled to get and hold a union job Dude you need a reality check. I don't know which union your talking about, it isn't mine. I spent 5 years and 12000 hours to get my journeyman rateing and spend 25 to 60 hours a year on my own time to keep and maintain my state licends. The sparky in the post above me summed it up pretty good. We wouldn't exist if didn't do it better than the rat bastards out there, they can thank us for keeping their wages up at the same time, lord knows there are enough people who can be convinced to work for nothing. --------------------------------------------------------------- Unions had their place.. once. Now they are helping to fuck up America's economy as our goods cost more to pay for the union slugs producing them. Any questions? Unions have their place today also, for example lets look at Walmart. Notoirous for screwing their employees. Common Walmart pratice is to limit their employees to less than 40 hours a week, so they don't have to provide benefits, these people have to turn to public assitance for health benefits. As a tax payer I end up picking up the slack for Walmart. Now who is the slug here? I'd like to see all the Walmart employees go Union and force those ass holes to pay a family wage, and don't tell me they can't afford it. Hello, people earning a decent wage is good for the economy. rant off
  9. I might add a little tid bit to some of these good replies, I notice a lot of the pros doing streching excercises at the start of the day. It only makes sense to warm up your major muscles before jumping or praticing your PLFs. Hope this helps. blue skies jerry
  10. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1019090#1019090 has the copyshortcut thing always been there?
  11. ON my total mal I paid for the repack and would have been charged for the free bag and handel had I not found them. As far as trying to fix things because I would have to pay..........never entered my mind as I was screaming thru my hard deck. At my home DZ they charge 18.00 a pop for rental. (not where i had my mal) I don't know what they do in the case of lost gear, but I suspect their glad you're alive. I've seen the DZO launch a 182 time after time to try and locate choped gear theirs or not. To answer your post anyone who packs rental gear at my DZ does so with the blessing of the DZO. He's assuming the risk, If you pack it your assuming the risk, its just that simple. blue skies jerry
  12. I got one DOM 12-02, I'd sell it for that. blues jerry
  13. Terminal sedation and euthanasia aren't the same thing, but they both allow a person to be relieved of pain, to let go. People who are involved in hospice might say they are one and the same for all intents and purposes. In Oregon 42 lethal prescriptions have been written since the death with dignity act and about 30 have been used. The people who are allowed prescriptions are generally pretty squared away. I believe it's a good thing for those who would choose it and no harm no foul to the rest of us. blue skies jerry
  14. Hey give those guys a break, I'm sure they would enjoy a dateable inflatable better. blues jerry
  15. Steave around the northwest sleads are the way to go and considered the 4x4 of the boating seen. The rig you are looking at would be a great river boat and could go in as little as 4-6 inches of water at speed. In most cases prop boats are faster in outboard flavors, a 16 ft boat would be ok for two people. The statement made about chop is pretty much true, 1 ft of chop can equal a rough ride. OTOH a flat bottom boat is more stable when you are standing up and is more comfortable to fish out of. blue skies jerry
  16. Dude I want some of those drugs.

  18. Here in Portland 2 cops shot a retarded woman 22 times when she didn't drop her plastic squirt gun. The local uproar called for the cops to be charged with abuse of a corps. In another incident 2 cops take down a guy at a convenience market and the guy is choked to death. So their buddys in the locker room come out selling T-shirts with the slogan Smoke -em Don't Choke-em on the front and the mayor of Portland about had a cow. The cops are a riot around here. blues Jerry
  19. Jeff, If you like to surf you will love the saber2. I've jumped both platforms and have a saber2 190. The biggest difference is the flar, the saber2 likes a 2 stage flar. Pat works has written a nice artical that is posted here on dropzone. Have fun. blue skies jerry

  22. I'm going to go for silver with nothing out. AFIK this is the only mal that does not require a cutaway. And its always argued both ways depending on who you talk to. This is the statement I made in a previous comment. Its still good. Trying to fix a high speed mal could make things a whole lot worse, not to mention you're burning altitude fast. The comment I made about being aware enough to fix the problem only applies to me and this one instance and should have been left out. 3) just pull the reserve. blues jerry
  23. I'm not a bitch , I'm a hoe. Isn't that something that women do? blues
  24. It's like if you saw a rapist pouncing on a woman in an alley. Would you try to saunter by with a "look-I'M-not-raping-a-woman-why-don't-you-be-like-me" kind of demeanor or would you say that intervention is called-for? For some, who are not interested in behaving in an acceptable manner, setting a good example will be ignored. - ---Jeffrey ----------------------------------------------------------------- Subtute the word Halburton with rapist and Iraq with women, and you pretty much get the picture. blues
