Do We Owe HH Pimp Fees?

Ah yes, it was finally shut down, by HH we used to have quite a laugh back then and on Erno Kankoien (sp) chat site. Those were fun days, and IIRC we all paid HH plenty beer for our frolicks. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Spotify Music Service

I tried Spotify for a while but prefer Napster, it has a better choice and is cheaper here for the paid for accounts. I used to enjoy LastFM as well, but gave it up when they shutdown the free service. I access these mostly through my Squeezebox streaming systems Okay, that'll do for my very occasional posting, see you again some time.....

    VCR - Mini DV

"but when i plug the scart into my video" Stumpy, not all scarts are created equally, most common ones are one way with the signal going from the composite end to the scart. The one that came withyour camera may well be this type. You may need to get either a scart with an In/Out switch on it, or one with six composite leads. Unless your VHS machine has an S-video output you will be stuck with low quality video feed via the composite conns. Check out the vivanco site for suitable pictures. http://www.vivanco-direct.com/acatalog/Online_Catalog_Budget_Cables_Connectors_6.html -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Pandora.com

Match it up with a Squeezebox.....http://www.slimdevices.comand you have whole house personalised WiFi radio stations. Access to your MP3s is a bit of a side benefit. The sound from a Squeezebox is awsome compared to running off a shitty PC soundcard and the usual speakers. Only problem is you need a US zip code to activate the account, I used Beverly Hills 90210. Its been working for about a month now. This set up blows Sonos and Phillips out of the water in terms of bangs per buck for wireless access to the choonz on the pooter... Cooltopia have just released a NAS which means you don't even need the pooter switched on! I have a NAS (QNAP TS101) talking to a wireless router, and a sprinkling of squeezeboxes around the house, they are great. The missus even likes it.

    Music gurus, I need educating!

"What/who have I missed? " Sign up to Pandora and set up some of your favourites, then listen to them sending you similar choonz. www.pandora.com I got a free 90 day trial with my Squeezebox, http://www.slimdevices.com/ and its very, very, very cool. All you need is a valid US zip code, I used 90210. Squeezbox is way better than an I-pod for in-house choonz, not much use for jogging though. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. H4Xing the Video iPod with RockBox

"Are you the owner of an MP3 player that has silly DRM (Digital Rights Management) restrictions?" Been through all that pain with early Sony MP3 players, put me right off the idea of an i-pod. As an aside have any of you guys come across the Squeezebox MP3 player? I just got one and am loving having my 90GB or so of music available throughout the house, over the wireless net, quality is none too shabby either. http://www.slimdevices.com/ Me likeee

    PAL vs NTSC Video Format

Don't convert the disc, convert your DVD player. Not only is the disc PAL, it will also be region coded for the European market. Google 'region hack' for info, most region hacks enable Pal/NTSC changeover. Otherwise you may be looking at DVD ripping software, again a quick google will let you know what is out there, assuming you have access to a DVD burner. -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Have you ever...

Everything apart from stolen a car, never done that, I even coloured in with crayons just last night, and I enjoyed it (not as much as the Minime though) Like Jim, most of that other stuff all happened a longtime ago.

    How do you pronounce "Titanium"?

"Humphry Davy the English chemist isolated it in 1808 and NAMED it" He could have called it after himslef, or at least considered Humpem, or even Dayum -------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. How do you pronounce "Titanium"?

I'm currently installing about 30 million US dollars of the stuff. I call it "horriblyexpensivestuffthattakesfiteenweekstoarriveandisabitchtoworkwith" Other people call it "lightandstrongandresistanttochemicalattack" I've heard both pronunciations, but personally use the "maybeIcangetsomecheapiscescrewsoutofthisdeal" version.
