  2. I don't think there will be anymore produced in the foreseeable future. (I spent some time with the designer in January) -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  3. Very good point and something I hadn't considered....makes the 11" Air very appealing. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  4. TK - for an old IBM guy you are sure rockin' the Macs these days! 12gb ram....very nice! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  5. Sounds great! How much free space do you have left after installing Office? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  6. How much ram and storage did you get? My co-worker got the 11" with 2gb ram and 64 gb storage. She is thrilled with hers as well....and I keep looking at them online debating whether to get one or not. What are the main things you use it for? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  7. Get a copy of Mac for Dummies...it'll explain how to do screenshots and many other tasks. Alternatively, open the Grab application which is in the Utlities folder inside your Applications folder. It will allow you to make several types of screen capture. Here are some keyboard shortcuts to use as well. It will save as a tiff file I think. Just open using preview and save as a jpg. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  8. I have done that. When I get home from work I will do it again just to double check. But I kept getting a "do you want to replace..." JT - My guess is that you will get that message again if any of the files in the folder you are dragging from has the same file name as any files in the destination folder. Godd luck buddy, Murray -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  9. Good for him! I enjoy seeing stuff like that. Got to be a huge confidence builder. I was hoping Vancouver would lose. Detroit blew a 3-goal lead but managed to win in over-time. I guess, you've heard... Detroit is trying to get Nabakov!? Ozzie is supposed to be out till March after hernia surgery. They can't keep using back-ups. Chuck Nabakov....there goes Detroit's Cup chances. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  10. It really is incredible to read this. Thanks to the OP for posting. What a feat of survival by the flight crew and all the ground support staff. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  11. Yes, that was quite a win! As much as I was pissed off last night, I'm glad that other countries are starting to win the WJC. The US with 2 recent wins and now Russia, it's good to spread it around a bit. I think it makes for a much better quality of hockey. As for last night, I think that Canada has 20 good minutes, not 40 like everyone else is saying. They looked weak in the 2nd - even though they did score. Their power play was sloppy and they let themselves get drawn into focusing on making the big hit instead of what kept them dominate in the first period. You could see Russia literally take the game from them. I agree with you. I had managed to see the game against the Finns where they came back from 3-1 in the third to win. They started being a bit tentative with the puck in the second, weren't winning the individual battles and the Russians were getting room to move. What is remarkable about the Russian kids is that they did this three games in a row. Full marks to them. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  12. You are so right. Look how many Americans have won the Art Ross Trophy over the years. Done Googling it yet?[/reply http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Art_Ross_Trophy look again.... those are mostly US teams US Teams consisting of a majority of Canadian players. Find another thread to troll. I have to get ready to watch Canada play the Russians for Gold tomorrow at the World Junior while the US plays for Bronze. 13. ????? I guess you didn't see the last Winter Olympics. Tonight's beatdown of Team USA by Canada in the World Junior semifinal game was a thing of beauty. If not for Jack Campbell of the US, the score might have easily been 8 or 9 to 1 instead of 4-1. He really was outstanding in net. Canada absolutely dominated. US were the favourites coming into the tournament and I was completely astounded by how thoroughly Canada dominated tonight's game. TSN Announcer Bob McKenzie said it was maybe the best game Canada has ever played in the history of the tournament. Canada plays for the gold against Russia. This is our tenth consecutive gold medal game. FYI - The US has never won consecutive medals at the World Juniors. Canada's record at the World Juniors against the USA is 30-6-3. Go Canada!!! Wednesday 7pm ET Canada Russia for the Gold! -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

  15. Unfortunately, living in Canada, that is too close to the truth. A friend of mine who owns a store that specializes in knives, swords and other edged weapons has to keep on top of all the various laws regarding their use and sale. I asked him once about keeping a blade near the bed for use in a situation like you described. He said that by keeping it there it would be taken that I had planned to use it and its use was therefore premeditated. Not good for me. He suggested keeping a hammer there with some picture hanging materials. I don't like the situation up here. Don't let it get like that down there. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  16. I am excited about the games to be played to decide who makes the playoffs eg - Jets-Bears, Eagles-Packers, Saints-Falcons this weekend. There are still a lot of teams still alive so these last couple of weekends can be very interesting if any upsets happen, etc. I hope the Chargers can make it but they need help so I will be playing attention to the Chiefs games as well and hoping there is an upset in one of them. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  17. Good for you for trying again. Best wishes for success this time. I quit 27years ago after smoking for 16years and it was an excellent decision. All the best!!!!! Murray
  18. Mark, I read all three books a few months ago. Couldn't put them down and read each one cover to cover. Watched the first movie a while ago. It was good. I thought about getting the second movie but had kind of decided not to until you started this thread....so a few hours ago I bought "Played with Fire" on iTunes and just finished watching it. Really enjoyed this movie a lot more than the first. While watching it, I figured out why you think Lisbeth rocks: She uses a Mac! Really a pity Stieg Larsson died right after he delivered the manuscripts. Lisbeth is such a great character and it would have been interesting to see what he would have dreamt up for her next. Cheers, Murray
  19. Whatever iPad you get, get one with 3g so you get the GPS and ability to buy a month by month data plan. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  20. The tradeoff would be the resulting rejection issues/graft versus host disease....which can kill you as well. My wife had a stem cell transplant for leukemia 5 years ago and has only in the past week been taken off her last immunosuppression drug. She recently lost a friend and fellow leukemia patient to GVHD. Going off on a related tangent....I was wondering the other day if it would be possible to have your own stem cells harvested and then frozen for possible future use...similar to what you can do with cord blood when your kids are borne? After seeing what my wife went through, I'd be willing to pay to have stem cells harvested and preserved. They sometimes do transplant your own stem cells for leukemia (autologous transplant) but only in certain circumstances is it possible. Anybody know? -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  21. The much-rumored Verizon iPhone should become real or stay a rumor by year end or shortly thereafter if you can wait that long and are interested in an iPhone. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  22. Good for you on shooting film. I am sorry I got rid of my 35mm Nikons. My vote is for Velvia as well. I loved it for skydiving shots as the blue was awesome. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  23. Carey Price has been paying real well for the Canadiens. I thought he was going to have a rough season but he has played very well. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
  24. If you do that, get the Canon S95. I have the S90 which has the same lens and it is a great little camera...especially in low light due to the fast lens (f 2.0) and the sensor that they optimized for low noise. read about it at kenrockwell.com. -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey

    Smart phone?

People actually make phone calls with their phones? Apparently, not so much on AT&T -- Murray "No tyranny is so irksome as petty tyranny: the officious demands of policemen, government clerks, and electromechanical gadgets." - Edward Abbey
