  1. I personally prefer aperture priority. I tend to use f8 and let the camera work out the shutter speed. I use 200 film for tandems and 100 for everything else. I have tried shutter priority at 1/500th and it was OK but i just prefered aperture priority http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  2. I have been asked to video 8 way at night. Any tips on lighting etc? http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  3. Take a look at www.tonysuits.com They do about every wing type going! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  4. All of them. Precision have now replaced the canopy http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  5. I meant lay the 108 down next to the 103 and it looks a lot bigger than 5% bigger http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  6. All i KNOW is this; 4 cutaways on a Xaos 21 loaded at 2.1:1 with javelin risers with plastic inserts. No problems at all http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  7. If you want to video RW then get a camera suit. Don' fall victim to the 'whats cool' argument.People don't know what u were wearing when they watch your footage! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  8. No other sony cam resets that i have seen. If you haven't already bought one then try before you buy! My Sony cameras lose their settings if i leave the battery off for about 5 minutes - infact this is what i do when i get a moisture warning! Leave the battery off for 10 minutes and the camera 'forgets' there is a problem! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  9. I have a Xaos 21 - 108 and a Ve 103. The Xaos seems a LOT bigger then the Velocity. http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  10. Attention all Brits - buy your kit from Air Supply! Thats a great price for the uk! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  11. Yeah but everythings a rip off in the UK.PD Reserves are quoted at £790 with a big british dealer - they are about $850 or less in the US http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  12. I don't use it but there was a thread on here a while ago where people were saying it suffers badly with image stability like the TRV890 / 900 http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  13. I noticed this a while ago. The kenko 0.5 is like a sony 0.7! Because the Kenko isn't particulalry wide its great for 4 way video. You can really fill the frame and be incredibly steep. http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  14. You'll still need to take the bracket off the cam to swap tapes with a stroboframe. http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  15. Use the time between now and when you jump to totally familiarise yourself with your new camera. Don't have to ask others how YOUR camera works on the way to altitude! Practice turning it off & on with helmet on, on the ground until its automatic. btw, never had a problem with my cameras at down to minus 25 (i jump in the UK!) I agree about the extended waranty keep your head still!! Have fun! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  16. Have a look at www.speedgraphic.co.uk They are solid in my experience, and they do specialist plates for certain 35mm slrs - i wouldn't recommend relying on the cork that comes with it. The standard 35mm anti twist plate works with my still cameras (Nikon F801s) AND camcorders (trv10, pc10). If you are using a pc type camera i would still recommend bracing it against something although i know people who don't and haven't had any problems. http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  17. BTW, i would suggest having a bungy cord going over the top of your cameras - but you don't need to. http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  18. Yes you can do what u want to. I have used the stroboframe with TRV10, PC7/10, Nikon F801s, (and various flashguns) with no problems at all. However rather than have to turn the mount thro 90 when you change, i would sugesst having a bracket on the stills in such a way that you don't need to. Have fun! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  19. I appreciate that but isn't the idea of using spandex that if you have a prem pack opening it is easier to get the pilot chute out thereby avoiding a horseshoe? http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  20. Why would u want to do this? Is this now considered to be safer? http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  21. I was talking to a major european manufacturer about 18 months ago and he told me that he felt that chest rings promote off heading openings (his rigs now come with chest rings - the customer is always right i guess). On a positive note - they must make repair work on the harness easier. http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  22. I think with your experience its a case of demoing as many as you can. I did a lot of jumps with a stiletto 135 and camera (220 - 230lbs out the door) and never had a problem. I like the Spectre but don't have many jumps on one - a very experienced friend has one and generally likes it but tells me he doesn't like it when its bumpy - it doesn't handle it as well as his stiletto he says. Try and demo a sabre 2. I haven't heard a bad word about them yet. Have fun!! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  23. Precision have replaced my canopy - as per previous post. When the tested it it was opening off to the right everytime - they'vr been fantastic sorting this out for me! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  24. Thought you all may be interested to know that after test jumping my canopy Precision have offered me a new one because of a tendancy to turn right on opening. They have been very helpful with this problem. Thanks to PA and thanks to all who posted! http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
  25. Do your tandem masters always face into the sun so the sun is behind you? http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
