  1. just grab a gath or even a protec & bolt an aluminum l-plate to it. Watch out for the lens assembly ... thats the weakest part of of a pc7.
  2. I have a xfire139 with about 500 jumps on it. Get on the rear risers & weight shift to keep it sweet. Mine will search a bit while in the snivel but I am always within 20 degrees of heading. You just gotta fly thru the opening. Why psycho pack?... it will just snivel more. I get 1000 to 1200 foot openings with an open nose, stabiliser back propack.
  3. I use a pc7 as a full time tandem camera. My unit has done about 500 jumps without too much drama... a good solid camera. BUT... it is old skool, no effects, doesnt handle poor lighting as well as newer units. The weak points are the lens assembly and two sets of wires - one in the control cover and the set that links the flip out screen. Do get a cage of some sort, use the screen as little as possible, and leave tapes in the unit as much as possible,ie;dont change tapes unnecessarily. good luck blue skys

    Coe-D

My 1st canopy was a coe-d 170. zp top f111 bottom. they tend to open fast & firm. Loaded @ about 1:1 its a good 1st chute or demo or casual crw or whatever. Good allrounder.
  5. Yes, I was flat & stable when I pitched... maybe if I was in a light track or backsliding the pc would have been dragged out of the burble.... maybe not.
  6. Freefly suit. Never had pc problems before, 20" zp with +/- 500 jumps, still in good condition. Just one of those things...
  7. Thanks to all. The TMs know their camerawork & do what they can to help get good shots. It sux being stuck with old skool cam but it was the biz when I got it... gotta upgrade 1 day. again ... thanx.
  8. I use a pc7 for tandem video & find the picyure a lot darker than other cameras on the dz.Particularly shooting from below the tandem. The tandem is just shadow unless I am high or close(less than 2 feet). Anyone got settings that work well on a pc7? I think I have tried almost every combination.
  9. Yeah, the whole thing is on vid,but because I wear a left side mount its not as detailed as it could be. When we pulled the mess apart we found the initial piont of entanglement was main riser to reserve riser... when I chopped the main riser must have popped the tuck flap & been flapping in the breeze looking for something to wrap.
  10. Yes I tried to get air to the pc, looking over both shoulders & up. Yes it was a kill line pc & yes it was cocked(I check this 3 times in every pack job & again before putting on the rig). The container is a Talon 2.
  11. 7 th December,a tandem camera jump, my 5th of the day. Uneventful freefall, pitched @ around 3500 feet, nothing. I believe my pc was trapped in my burble. Couldnt see it or feel it or find my bridle. Cut away and maybe 1 1/2 seconds delay then deploy reserve. Nice quick, soft reserve opening
  12. I jump a xfire @ 1.4 & cant say a bad thing about it...soft staged openings that are easy to fly if it looks like twisting.I have managed to get a few line twists but the canopy still flew ok... no big windup & easy kickout. Even at my light loading landings are fun,the xfire wants to swoop!
  13. I carry 2 knives... my main is a Jack on my jumpsuit, right thigh,.. my reserve is a little finger loop type on the left of my chest strap. I have that mounted for a pull-down extraction 'cos I have seen a nostril sliced by one !
