  1. Well he "seems" to be willing. He says he should pay more. In practice he is not willing. He's a typical elite - (donning mind reading helmet here) he thinks that sending money to charities of HIS CHOICE is equivalent to making others send money to the government. ==> his false assumption is that the government will spend like he does and that his model is the correct one. Arrogance at its worst. "if only we could force all the wrong people to give it all to the government where it would get spent like I would - the right people" ... 3. We've had 3 suits this year change hands and they fit perfectly without mods. Today, one came into my wife's shop and the only thing needing changing was extending the booties - a simple change and pretty cheap since he was getting the leather replaced. However, "off the shelf" can imply a non-custom fit though explicitly it doesn't at all. So, a good suit needs a custom fit - lucky if you find it off the shelf or off of other jumpers, but usually needs to be tailored. Pretty simple for one of two posters to just acknowledge the actual point instead of pissing on each other - especially since they were agreeing with other's basic gist in the end. ... The comparison is just an example of HIS bias as well - hypocrit - So it's ok for him to determine what's "appropriate" but not ok for the SA. so he and the Salvation Army are both out of line - maybe the parents can decide what kind of toys their kids can have - what a radical idea ... 22. +1 since religion is a subjective and absolutely personal choice and, by definition has no relation to fact (see 'faith' definition) I find it completely pointless for anyone to have a "fervor" or "crusading spirit" on the subject either way beyond their own personal experience I'll stay strongly in the camp of "don't know, don't care, doesn't matter". "Oh, bill, but it does matter, look how much damage the churches have done over history" - Organized religion isn't about religion or faith, it's just a political control organization like any other with a proven technique (but the ignorant can be exploited in other ways in the vacuum of any religion) - I'm neither more or less threatened by a 'church' than any other political movement design to enslave masses to subjective and undefined concepts (create your own list here). If we weren't being terrorized by religious fanatics, then we'd be terrorized by enviro fanatics, or financial fanatics, people will find a cause to allow them to express their weaknesses in violent ways - I think the cause is secondary. That's not religion or faith, that's just power structures. Look how much damage the two parties have done, look how much damage "causes" have done. etc. ... this is also what I see - Hunters are the non-hypocritical environmentalists - they actually understand conservation and mean it and not just spout off on it in an unmeaningful way to to make points with the others sitting at the expresso shop. I would hunt for self defense - you ever see a cow or chicken staring at a school bus? You just KNOW they'd kill and eat everyone on board if they could just purchase ammo and tenderizer. ... 25. absolutely good point I had a student I was coaching (post AFF at the time) 3 years ago - most of his belly work, I was in a sit staying with him. If I'd have had him AFF, I would have needed 20-30 pounds of lead and my tightest suit. He showed up last year with a bit more experience. He wore the suit my wife made him (double layers, biggest grippers, full size booties.....) and a much more relax posture. People could fly with him on their bellies much better. He flew at my 4way comp speed. time and experience teaches a lot of fall rate control - so does being comfy after a couple hundred jumps. ...
