  1. My DZ has at the very least, has I'd say about 12 regular wingsuit fliers (likely more) with myself set to join the flock sometime soon after the middle of April when my GTi arrives. And several of these regulars are also people who practice the true black art with their wingsuits (also one of my long term goals). Plus Birdwoman is in the process of setting up the Rocky Mountain Birdman School. So look for even more wingsuit fliers to come out of CO after this summer. I guess the flock will only get bigger. 2. Being male, I'm obviously never going to know what a female experiences during sex. But I do feel that we men are flawed. Yes our sexual arousal is intense, but it doesn't last. Once the gun has fired (the chemical reaction between the seamen and the penis head), we men must sit back and wait for our bodies to recover while women are able to experience these multiple orgazisms. Which one is better? Who knows ... who cares ... just as long as we all get along. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. This is the biggest reasons why we as skydivers don't get that falling feeling. Plus, I had a very interesting experience last Sunday while doing a hop n' pop using a demo PD143R canopy. You see the flaps on our King Air airplane experienced some issues (the flaps were temporarily stuck in a down deployed position) on an earlier load and after apparently fixing the problem we were airborne again. But the pilot didn't want to slow the airplane down for the hop n' pop skydivers (just in case the flaps got stuck again with a plane full of skydivers). So jump run for the hop n' pop skydivers was somewhere in the 150 knots range and I actually had to wait for myself to slow down after jumping before I deployed this demo reserve canopy (packed as a main). All I can say is that, it's a neat feeling to wait for yourself to slow down in the air. Oh and my demo reserve opening was terminal and while it didn't slam me, it was abrupt. 4. I wouldn't say that you'd be confused as twin sisters, but I see a resemblance between you and skycat. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Cool pics. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. If you're talking about that late night in Rantoul when I ran into you at the trailer park, yes you were definitely lost. But at least you weren't seen getting involved in a golf cart incident like a certain skymonkey (as well as several other high profile PST people). 7. All the cool single skychicks. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. I'm sorry, but some (not all) religious people are just dumb when it comes to their blind faith. This crap about skydiving being evil and a sin is just an example of how stupid some (not all) religious people can be. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. I give the DZ two thumbs up for their efforts on Safety Day. They (rightfully) put a huge emphasis on canopy control, but plenty of other topics were discussed as well. And I got to make three demo jumps on a PD143 Reserve canopy (packed as a main) and it was ultra cool to be able to fly the exact same reserve canopy which is in both of my rigs. And hopefully nobody will want to jump this demo reserve canopy again next week as it would be nice to take it up again. My accuracy was decent on this canopy (I hit the peas), but it sure does come down fast vertically compared to the 9 cell main canopies I am used to. 10. Yes that was a disturbing scene. But it doesn't last long and it's one of those "This can happen in real lile, so let's not sugar coat it" scenes. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. I watched Deliverance last night for the first time in a long long time and I just wanted to comment on what a great movie it is. In a time when Hollywood seems to pump up predominately garbage movies, it was refreshing to watch such a great movie from the 70s with it's suspense, intrigue and beautiful scenery (I never knew north Georgia could be so picturesque). Oh and the "Dueling Banjos" scene near the beginning of the movie was fantastic if you like that sort of back woods music (with the inbred kid hill-billy banjo player). The next time you're at the video store, think about passing on the latest Hollywood garbage shoot'em up movie and rent this movie instead (if you've never seen it or haven't seen it for a long while). That's all ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. I could think of better things to smoke. I know, I have a crush on all of the cuties here on DZ.COM!!! I'm out of here for a while folks. Be safe out there if you're jumping this weekend. It looks like I may get to jump tomorrow after all and may do my 600th on the sunset load? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Cora is a hottie. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. Oh but Shelley isn't a skydiver. Plus I haven't talked to her for years. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. I'm still in it. Put a cap in my ass and all will be well. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. Well she asked who I had a crush on didn't she? Okay I now have a crush on ChaosKitty ... or do I? Hmmm ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. Christy Brinkley and a big crush on Shelley Watters (this cutie one grade younger than me). I briefly dated Shelley in high school and ironically attempted to have a long term relationship with her back in '98 when I first moved to Colorado and she was in Ontario. But it didn't last more than several months. I guess not only the distance hurt our relationship, but I think I am a little too wild for her. 18. LOL ... I can't believe I'm going to say this, but when are they going to ban pens and pencils in the schools? They can be used as weapons right? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Hopefully you are not confusing me with the people who want criminal charges pressed against Bertuzzi. I feel that the NHL did the right thing (suspending Bertuzzi for what should be the same amount of time that Moore is out of action). But no way do I feel that criminal actions should be persued. I still say the Dave Brown/Thomas Sandstrom incident was worse than this. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. I would like to add another point here. If the victim has suffered a head, neck, back or femur injury. Please do NOT move the victim unless their immediate life is at risk (remembering the first priority of first aid). The head, neck, back and femur injuries, the victim needs to be placed on a backboard and the proceedure for doing this is not all that obvious to the untrained eye. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Absolutely ... Here are the six priorities of first aid: 1) Prevention of further injury This applies to the victim as well as the rescuers. Get the victim out of harms way, but only after the rescuers are not in harms way (no point having new victims). 2) Airway Make sure the victim's airway is not blocked. 3) Breathing Make sure the victim is breathing. 4) Circulation Make sure the victim's blood is circulating and apply pressure to any open wounds. 5) Fractures Immobilize any bone fractures the victim may have. 6) Everything else Address all the other injuries the victim may have (including recognizing and monitoring the victim going into shock). 22. Colorado while not the best place to skydive, is a pretty darn cool state what with all of it's recreational activies and predominately good weather. Got to run to lunch ... later ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. Well I'm only kidding (you know that flirting thing-a-ma-bob), but when are you planning on moving to CO? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. I attended this Bryan Burke seminar during the Holiday boogie and I highly recommend that everyone at some point in their jumping careers to listen to what he has to say. He's got a certain dry view towards this sport (stuff like, if you don't like the long spot, it'll only get worse the more you think about it). But the man is a brilliant person to listen and talk to (after my reserve ride at the boogie, I had the privilage of having about a 20 minute one-on-one talk with him as we watched the jumping action and learned a lot in that time) . Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. Obviously a doctor or a EMT would be more qualified than someone like myself. But as a former ski patroller (I used to patrol up in Lake Louise Alberta from '89-'92) I have had to deal with several femur accidents (the worst femur accident being some guy who wrapped himself around a snow making hydrant and broke his femur in two places). And I was trained to put the victim on a backboard, monitor their condition (shock and all that other fun stuff ... NOT) and call for either an ambulance or a chopper depending on the victims condition. Placing the victim on a backboard properly is not a trivial task to teach people in the field during an incident. So I would say that unless the DZ is properly equiped with the appropriate first aid equipment and trained personnel, the best thing to do is call for an EMT monitor the victims condition and be prepared for the worst (every adult should know CPR).
