Zlew 0 #4 September 26, 2013 as i remember- he has a harness on under his clothes, and is physically attached to the legstraps via his left hand. Very cool and brave, but not exactly what it looks like.

wolfriverjoe 1,340 #8 September 27, 2013 PixieUKReally? We were looking for it and couldn't see any evidence. How does he hang upside down from the container by his feet then? It was a well planned, well choreographed, well executed stunt. As in Hollywood movie stunt. Greg and Joe (Jennings) have done a lot of stuff over the years. This is (IMHO) one of their better ones. Hint: Do you think that segment was all done in one take? Or maybe they did a couple of different jumps with different harnesses so that they could show you what they wanted you to see."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Don't forget the possible money bringing can of Mountain Dew. Oh, they left out the second half of that segment in the video. I love footage from whatever that heli mounted camera is. In fact I almost like it better than the jump footage.
rwieder 0 #10 September 27, 2013 Gregg has a ways to go to top Travis Pastrana's "No Rig" jump. He didn't have a harness on, how could you tell? He didn't have a shirt on. Best- Richard
rwieder 0 #11 September 27, 2013 QuoteAnd Travis got all his ratings yanked and then went on a 'whine campaign' about being banned from the sport. I dont see a 'ballsy guy' I see an attention whore that decided to risk fucking it up for the rest of us to get his fix. We police our own to keep the gov off our back and that's exactly what happened when he got kicked out. Travis didn't do his jump in the US, and he's not banned from the sport in the US either. He did it here: Puerto Rico "Travis Pastrana jumped from a single-engine Cessna from 12,500 feet over Arecibo, Puerto Rico. He was only wearing sunglasses, socks and surf trunks while holding a can of Red Bull. He was not wearing a parachute. He was doing the jump for the "X" Games. So how is it he was f-ing it up for us, in the US?? Best- Richard QuotePS:According to Racer X, yup... We got a note from Travis Pastrana who wanted to make us aware of a situation he’s got himself into with the United States Parachute Association: “Some of the best skydivers in the world are trying to help safely progress the standards and thinking of skydiving. I had my skydive license taken for doing a skydive that was easily and safely executed as a stunt for a movie. I’m not saying the new school of thinking would have allowed me to do this, but they would have helped me to do it more safely and through the right channels. As it sits, I am on the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) black list and banned from a sport that I truly enjoy. Every vote counts, please help skydiving progress.” A quote from Travis himself. He was banned for 180 day back in 08' At least that's the way the research I did reads.
melch 0 #12 September 27, 2013 QuoteSo how is it he was f-ing it up for us, in the US?? Because PR is part of the US Commonwealth which is subject to federal law... And Travis earned all of my 'How's about NO!"
platypii 20 #13 September 28, 2013 http://www.uspa.org/Portals/0/Downloads/Min_BOD_2008_09.pdf [Page 4] Quote The Director of Safety & Training forwarded the following motion. Motion 9: Passed, 15/4/1 (Mr. Bangs) “Move to revoke the USPA membership of Travis Pastrana, USPA #176787.” http://www.uspa.org/Portals/0/Downloads/Min_BOD_2009_04.pdf [Page 19] Quote The Executive Committee discussed the appeal of a membership suspension made by Travis Pastrana. This appeal goes to the full board for discussion and a vote. Mr. Pastrana sent a letter of apology and explained he has no plans for any stunts in the near future. He also reports that he will be sure to follow the correct procedures in the future should a stunt be planned. The following motion resulted: Motion 41: Passed 21/0/0 (Mr. Stokes) “Move to reinstate the USPA Membership to Travis Pastrana.” BASEline - Wingsuit Flight Computer
grimmie 173 #14 September 29, 2013 There have been licensed USPA members that have hurt the sport far more than Travis did. And they never were suspended.IMHO Travis has an A license, no ratings.
dwhenline 0 #15 October 1, 2013 I dont know much about this sport, but travis is wearing a harness under his swim shorts and is hooked into it. You can appreciate the connection when the guy docks on his back and later when the guy unclips from it on the beach. The stunt otherwise looks pretty straight forward dwh

Skydivesg 6 #17 October 2, 2013 You'll note that these are two different jumps as evidenced by two different canopies. This footage was very carefully and cleverly done as to make the viewer feel more fearful of the dangers (although not letting us see the colors of the second canopy would have been better IMHO). Good stunts and film editing are designed to make the viewer believe what is unbelievable. Many of us see what we want to see - others see the truth. Well done Joe and Greg. Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be. .Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

chuteless 1 #21 October 4, 2013 On both of my chuteless jumps, I had the harness under the jumpsuit, and the two risors came through holes by my shoulders. Unfortunately, this allowed the jumpsuit to fill with air, a ballooning effect, and it was more difficult flying smoothly. However, it worked for me, and I am still here, so no complaints.
