airdvr 200 #732 June 27, 2017 Three resign from CNN after Russia story retraction The Hill - today An internal CNN investigation reportedly found that normal editorial processes weren’t followed in the story’s editing and publication. Only one anonymous source was used in the story, and typical parts of CNN’s workflow, such as fact checkers, were reportedly not utilized before publication. Those filled in on the results of the internal investigation were reportedly told that the facts of the story weren’t necessarily wrong, but that the piece wasn’t strong enough to run as is.Please don't dent the planet. Precisely. In the fake news world the smell test, the test of time, or even a couple facts to back up the story line. Is never held to account by its readers. Be it stupidity, outright bias, ignorance, or a outright lack or absence of natural inquisitiveness. False news or biased views are accepted and endorsed. DanG 1 #737 June 27, 2017 QuoteThe Project Veritas narrative may be BS but what he said is real. It's not 'real' if it was edited to alter his intent. We'll see. Either way, this 'story' is bullshit for several reasons. Allow me to list a few: 1. As much as rush wants it to be false, Russia meddled in our election. That is the problem. Whether or not anyone in the Trump campaign colluded is a side story, and potentially very important, but it is not the main issue. 2. The guy in the video is a producer in the medical division of CNN. He doesn't have anything to do with Russian investigation coverage. 3. The Project Veritas founder himself has said and journalistic ethics are unimportant, and all that matters is the business. Now he's xalling CNN out for seeking ratings? Hypocrisy much? 4. Even if this video is taken at face value, you can't make the logical leap from CNN spending too much time on the Russian investigation to the whole investigation being fake. CNN doesn't run the Senate, House, FBI, CIA, or NSA. - Dan G

billvon 2,476 #739 June 28, 2017 More "nothing" : ============== Trump Campaign Chief’s Firm Got $17 Million From Pro-Russia Party By NICHOLAS CONFESSORE, MIKE McINTIRE and BARRY MEIER JUNE 27, 2017 NYT Paul Manafort, who was forced out as President Trump’s campaign chairman last summer after five months of infighting and criticism about his business dealings with pro-Russian interests, disclosed Tuesday that his consulting firm had received more than $17 million over two years from a Ukrainian political party with links to the Kremlin. The filing serves as a retroactive admission that Mr. Manafort performed work in the United States on behalf of a foreign power — Ukraine’s Party of Regions — without disclosing it at the time, as required by law. The Party of Regions is the political base of former President Viktor F. Yanukovych, who fled to Russia during a popular uprising in 2014. =================

That's classic. Here's the statement by the way: "WASHINGTON (AP) — In stories published April 6, June 2, June 26 and June 29, The Associated Press reported that all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies have agreed that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election to benefit Donald Trump. That assessment was based on information collected by three agencies – the FBI, CIA and National Security Agency – and published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which represents all U.S. intelligence agencies. Not all 17 intelligence agencies were involved in reaching the assessment." So....that's not fake news but a statement that not all 17 were involved in reaching the assessment. Anything more to see here?"I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
tkhayes 154 #743 July 3, 2017 right, but the big 3 agencies were involved in that decision and assessment. So because someone reported that 17 agencies were involved, the determination of the FBI, the CIA, the NSA must therefore also be invalid. got it. But Donald Trump Jr insisted that Natalia Veselnitskaya had provided "no meaningful information" on his father's rival for the presidency. Yep. On Saturday, Trump Jr. said the meeting was about adoptions, not anything about the campaign. Yet for some reason Trump's campaign manager came to the meeting as well. Then on Sunday, the Times reported that Veselnitskaya had promised Trump Jr. damaging info about the Clinton campaign. And his story quickly changed: "Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information." Today's Monday, so I guess we are due for another . . . what do we call it? Re-remembering of the event? Minor revision of the facts? Alternative rememberance? You would think that, as the evidence mounts against the Trump campaign, they could at least make the effort to get their stories straight.
