Whadd'ya pay for jumps?

Recommended Posts

Sky Knights in East Troy , WI, to 13,500' is 20 bones for guests, 18 for club members.
Cessna to 10,500 is 13 for members- 15 I think for guests but I'm not sure- (I've always been a mamber-) Extra altitude is a buck per 1,000' per person- Or sometimes I guess it could be taken in trade---

At my club is 25$ for members and tourists, 50$ for non member locals.

All jumps are from 12k fts

We are the ONLY ones in Panama to make jumps at 12k ;)

The other place make jumps at 6k to 8k fts and charge almost the same I think.

Here in Norway at Østre Ære DZ a jump costs at todays exchange rate $19.80 in weekends. $17.10 in weekdays.
In may it's cheapest at $15.78
This is jumps from 13000' with an Antonov-28. (Dual prop turbine, 10 minutes to 13000'. Tailgate exit. It rocks!)

There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

I recently got an email from Zim skydiver and it is $4000 per jump - which should be about US$4 on the blackmarket. But altitude used to be 8000ft AGL max.

I guess its a case of whether you have the balls to go to the country nowB|

Hi
I guess it fluctuates quite wildly these days - a couple who jump in Harare moved down to SA last weekend - they said they have to pay whatever the US$ rate is .... which still makes it one of the cheapest places to skydive, unless you are Zimbabwean!!!!!!:(

"The Ranch gets $15."

And arguably serving the same market, Skydive LI gets $18 and CrossKeys gets $17, more for credit cards. Skys the Limit is cozy about its rates but claims to be "competive."

BTW, charging more for credit cards seems to be a growing trend.

I'm still trying to figure out why there are so many variations when fixed costs can't be all that different. The "northern DZs have to compensate for bad weather" has some appeal, but does Buckeye do gangbusters in August? Isn't the Ranch $!5 for members who pay dues, and how many members don't make enough jumps to make it worthwhile?

Yes, at The Ranch we do have a yearly membership fee of $55. But we get, $15 jumps, free beer and pizza on Sat nite and more. For me, it's well worth it. Non members pay $17, so it would take 28 jumps to break even. If you weren't going to make that many, then it wouldn't be worth it. While I can't say exactly how many paid members we have, i would guess that # to be around 500.
