I'm so old I saw ______ in the theater.

Recommended Posts

A Clockwork Orange. I got caught and my dad called the police demanding the theatre be shut down for letting a child into such a depraved movie.
I also saw Apocalypse Now in the theatre with DOLBY© sound. That was pretty exiting.
The first Star Trek (opening night) is still the only movie I have ever been to where they applauded the opening credits.

My parents were in the front seat; I was 5, and was supposed to go to sleep after watching "Dog of Flanders" which was the first of the double feature :D

The best part of the movies when I was a kid. You got two movies and a serial. A 15 minute deal with Hop-a-long Cassidy, Captain Marvel or Flash Gordon. About the time they were butt deep in trouble it ended. Falling off a cliff, being attacked by a giant clam, shot with the Zagon death ray. Next week; all better. You never got to see how.
U only make 2 jumps: the first one for some weird reason and the last one that you lived through. The rest are just filler.

That was back when you dressed up a little and shut up for the movie. :)

I remember that in my days, people would smoke in the theater, even for children movies.. Unthinkable now....

... and my mom would make popcorn so we could take it to the theater in a large Tupperware bowl -- enough for the four of us. :)

Billy Jack - Rented it again years later - what a cheesy movie....

Oh, but it had it's moments, e.g. this hostage scene:

"Now you drop that gun or I'll shoot her! I'm not gonna ask you again."

"You won't have to."

"What?"

"I said shoot her."

"You'd kill her? just like that?"

"You'll kill her. And then I'll kill you. Just like that.
