  1. Cute Sangi, very cute. Yep, that was cute.......and true!
  2. Hey, i'm not saying there isnt any reason not to be upset. Just pointing out the obvious here about the mob. If you read above you will see that although i think the video is hysterical because of the facial expressions I actually sided with Sangi on how many on here want to let this slide. I personally dont care what slides and what doesnt. I just think the incredible double standard is hysterical. You are correct though, if something like this happened to me I would be quite upset. Although it's obvious the person who did it did so on accident, and they were obviously very sorry, it doesnt change the issue that someone that should know better put their hand in a very bad place. I would say the person who pulled the handle has at least a few hundred jumps based on his ability to sitfly only using his legs as he was using his arms to signal. 3. I'm going to have to agree with Sangi on this. Not one person so far, has come down on this guy for pulling this guy's cutaway handle. How do you know that the guy with 3600 hundred jumps "knows what he did wrong"? Why isn't anyone yelling for him to get rid of the camera until he has the where-with-all to focus on mutiple tasks and be safe? There seems to be a double standard by many of you. BTW: I know for a fact that I saw another video from this guy (maybe last year) (maybe youtube) where someone funneled a formation and pulled someone elses PC or reserve as he was funneling through the formation. The canopy just missed the camera. This group of jumpers (or DZ) seems to be grab happy wiith other people's gear.
  4. Sangi, 100 jumps is a little over an hour and a half. Think of it like learning to drive a car. With only that much time, you can get from point a to point b, but you still are probably thinking about shifting, watching for traffic, using your turn signals and a whole host of other things. LOTS of things to think about at the same time. Add another 1.5 hours of drive time and those things have become a little more second nature and you are not having to think about them as much. You notice more things around you because the mechanics of what you are doing are not what you are concentrating on because they are muscle memory. You anticipate problems because you have the experience to see them before they are in your face. That only comes with time. Lets change this to skydiving. But now you are getting this experience in 1 minute blocks weeks apart. Still the same issues of lots of things to focus on and muscle memory needing to be developed. Big difference is if you get overwhelmed in a car, you pull over. Can't do that in a skydive. Adding the camera adds more shit you have to think about and having that built up muscle memory allows one to focus at the task at hand. These responses are provided in the hope of helping a noob become an old fart instead of a statistic. Might seem harsh, but when after many people saying slow it down and the OP still saying "but, but, but, I'll be OK, I'm special", it just shows that showering people with rainbows and unicorns doesn't always work and a swift internet slap up side the head *might* get through. Hmmmm, anyone listening? 50 donations so far. Give it a try. You know you want to spank it Jump an Infinity
  5. There's another thread where typical DZ.comers bash a 100 jump guy with a GoPro who ditched his helmet before cutaway, yet he is all ok and well and nobody else was hurt as well.. This can be an exactly same analogy, because next time this guy can pull his friends RESERVE handle on exit instead of a cutaway, now that would make for a "fun" video wouldn't it? As I pointed out in another thread, it's all about jump numbers here, if you're below 200, you're gonna be bashed no matter what you do, above that and you're in the cool zone.. Sangi, I do get where you are going with this, ad I am not in complete disagreement. However... The difference? The guy with 3600 jumps knows what he did wrong. Doesn't mean that he didn't screw up, or can't screw up. I bet he'll be more careful now after possibly getting a little complacent about harness grips on exit. The GoPro / Helmet cutaway thread is a perfect example though of not knowing what you don't know. It has to do with experience. It has to do with a demonstrated attitude. I'll leave discussion of that event over there though. There are people with over 1000 jumps that I am scared to be in the air with, both freefall and under canopy. there are some very wise and cool-headed 50 jump people that I love to fly with. The reason people get so uptight here is not wanting to see others make the same mistakes they did and happened to get away with. The tone is often harsh, as are the consequences.

You know....i typically chime in and tell Sangi to "Shhhhh" but lately he has been more and more right. I'm not saying it's not funny, but in this case Sangi is right. What is the world/this sport coming to? 7. Are you implying that the shiny stuff are less functional? Are you implying that he is implying? Sangi, what did you say in the other thread about Dolphins? Read more, type less.
  8. Hi Sangi, Some advice if I may: Try to really think before you type. Your reputation is at stake; and that is the truth. JerryBaumchen
  9. Too much velcro that wears out? Not really practical, when you have to replace it constantly (longetivity wise)... Why would you want a mega velcro rig when you can get a normal one and use it in any discipline without any fear.. .................................................................... The trouble with "normal" is that it changes faster than Sangi can keep track of "normal." Hah! Hah! The first few Dolphins were built with snaps holding main riser covers closed. The second batch of Dolphins were built with Velcro. The third batch of Dolphins were built with small tuck tabs. But all those definitions of "normal" fell out of fashion when UPT invented main riser covers with magnets. By the time that Dolphin updates their riser covers - to include magnets - the definition of "normal" will have changed again. Hah! Hah!
  10. what did you expect from Sangi ? scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  11. The Parachutes de France rigs are designed for that. Now my question for Sangi would be : Why an Axis ? Do you do lots of "Style and Accuracy" ? www.aerazur.com/en/parachute-and-protection/harness-container.html then switch to the right on Atom A (for Axis) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  12. sorry. i meant the OP. yeah, not talking crap about Sangi! he seams to be the kind of person that says he wants to do all this but he will probably never even do a tandem, i have met a few like himself. not talking shit, just making an observation oh dude DUde DUDE BRO DUDE. omg DUDE! ummmmm. i forgot.... Dudeist Skydiver #61
  13. Who? Sangi or the OP? Sangi is always around, and he and I have gone back and forth a lot on this board as well as others so he knows I am just messing with him. If you mean the OP then that is fine. He needs to do some research of his own anyway. "If this post needs to be moderated I would prefer it to be completly removed and not edited and butchered into a disney movie" - DorkZone Hero
  14. Sangi I think this is the very first time I have ever agreed with one of your posts "If this post needs to be moderated I would prefer it to be completly removed and not edited and butchered into a disney movie" - DorkZone Hero
  15. You need to look to find your handles? In standard conditions, I can find them easily without looking. Each and every time I had to use one, the other or both handles I did look as I was trained. Sangi, did you ever wonder why in a plane cockpit the handles and levers have different shapes, textures and color ? edited to add : on my rig I have black webbing, and had ordered red cutaway pillow and red reserve pillow. I thought it was cool and that I knew my right from my left. Got talked out of it and slightly modified the cutaway pillow which now has 2 yellow stripes on it, which changes the feeling and the visual. And no, I dont have red, yellow or black suits (yet) scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
  16. I don't think Sangi is being disrespectful of his decision. He would just rather hear the reasoning from the person in question. You may know him well enough to speak for him but I am more curious what his reasons are than what yours would be. If this subject hits a sore spot for you then I hope you get it worked out. Merry Christmas
  17. but he comes from your side of the pond sangi :P IHYD
  18. Sangi, you've made your point. The top pilots are sponsored. They are not free to change their canopies unless they want to give up their sponsorship or seek out a new one. For this reason competition results are not necessarily a useful metric for judging the best canopy design. So which is the better design? The JVX or the Velocity? First of all, you are not going to get an unbiased answer from a sponsored pilot (at least not on the record). Also, brand loyalty is like religion. It is very hard to engage people in logical discussions about it. I have flown (and competed) under both and I am not sponsored. I currently choose to fly the JVX because I still believe that a 9-cell has more performance potential than a 7-cell. But my opinion could change. I have not flown the competition Velocity yet.
  19. Sangi, something that you need to understand is that the canopy being flown has never been the limiting factor in swooping. It sounds like you have the idea in your head that, with the pilot taken out of the equation, that the JVX flown 100% perfectly will outperform a velo/comp velo that is also flown 100% perfectly. No pilot in skydiving history has ever flown their canopy so perfectly that additional speed/distance (disregard wind) is unattainable. This means the maximum performance of any parachute is yet to be seen, and at the moment is unknown. From my own observations of what the top pilots are pulling off, the fact that the JVX pilots and velo pilots are trading off records every year suggests that the ultimate performance of the two are relatively close. I do believe that there is a wing that performs ultimately higher, as there are with airplane wings, but the level of testing, research, and variable control in sport parachuting has not gotten to the point where definitive conclusions can be drawn. Hopefully this helps you better understand the point that its not the wing, its the pilot.
  20. Guys, Quit the brand war. The only one out there is the one in your heads. There's no doubt that the pilot makes the wing perform, and I believe any of the top pilots would do well under the either of the wings. Sangi, I suggest you post more cautiously, you are dangerously close to trolling. Posting intentional inflammatory comments (you have a history of this) will not be tolerated. Consider this your one warning. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. Ian posted this news in a thread titled "Why Velocity is so popular?"... as if to offer it as proof that the Velocity is better than the JVX. Sangi was merely countering that implication. I don't think that makes him look like a fool.
  22. I always thought foreigners won't be able to correctly pronounce my real name - Ignas (I is short and not "AY", and G is short and not GYYY), so I came up with Sangi, which is my real name the other way around.. I was wrong though, at least Brits have never made a mistake reading or and pronouncing it correctly.. "Dream as you'll live forever, live as you'll die today." James Dean
