As for some advice for suz I don't exactly have alot of life experience in this area as i'm still in high school but hey.. something you don't like.. change it! And as for missing your friends at the dz? There's nothing wrong with hanging around the dz and not jumping. The people rock and its gotta improve your mood at least a little

Student canopies with dacron lines are fine to daisy chain but who here has tried it with micro lines? To me it seems to take FOREVER cos there so damn small! I still daisy chain if I land out especially if i'm landing with someone's gear after a chop, etc. as there's less of a chance of gear tangling up and all that. (granted thats only happened once )

A tandem is a pretty good option like everyone has said above but.... Quite a few years ago now i think a paraplegic man wanted to skydive.. not do a tandem. apparently major upper body strength and he rode a motorbike and all that kinda stuff. Well anyway it was arranged that he could do a S/L jump over water with a boat crew etc. Not sure if you are able to find anyone to arrange such a think but just an idea.

I slept like a baby that night and still do after a few jumps in one day! Coming down from an adrenaline rush like that is damn tiring! It just takes more then one jump to have the same effect these days

I'm of the opinion that yeah jumpers COULD have a base rig if they worked on like the 100th floor or something but definetely NOT whuffos. Yeah then they can get out of the building and screw themselves up on landing. And screw that repel device! I'm pretty sure the dudes talking bout a coil of climbing rope and a climbing harness. Although that to used in the wrong hands could screw you up as well.

Hmmmm on a sidenote: (sorry for the hijack) Those are actually the minimum opening heights under the APF op regs. Experienced jumpers 1800ft. Students/A license 2200..... Rather od.. When would most people no longer cut away and switch into two out or canopy transfer mode?.. When is to low for you to cutaway?

Umm i've been told by my CI who's also a rigger that the drougue only collapses after the canopy is out of the bag unlike a sport rig.

They probably work just the same.. hell they could even be more accurate but the idea just doesn't seem right to me. I'm happy with a normal alti. Anyone have a picture of one on there hand in freefall? They look pretty big to!

Ah, but I'm glad he did (and we all know that's the only thing that matters). I've seen most of them, but ignoranus is a new one to me, and I love it. Now I just have to use it 3 times in the next hour to remember it

my guess would be a good 25 pounds i'm thinking a little bit more... considering my racer..phantom 145..and icarus 145 is 10kg.. so thats 22 pounds?

Just an old canvas bag from an army surplus store is the way. I use an old one i foung in the closet. The old probelm with mine is that it has a metal teethed zipper so i am extremely reluctant to ever put my canopy in it unpacked. Some thing to think about..

First canopy i jumped was an x228. First owned canopy is an Icarus 145 much nicer!! Forward speed is a wonderful thing!

I don't think i'll ever get a brand new canopy! I have enough trouble with my canopy and its done around 130 jumps before I got it For psyco packing instructions theIcarus user manual has pretty damn good instructions with colour photo's and all Although buy the way they just leave the canopy sitting there I swear it must have done a thousand jumps!

Was cutaway the one were they tortured the dude by taking him on back to back tandems or was that dropzone? That always cracked me up!!
