  1. Agreed with one addendum cavete terrae.
  2. I do not necessary disagree with you in total. I feel the party heads want the same things in the end The vote just may determine which party has the most control over the government and the then associated dollars that come with that power this is why I think someone other than a Bush or a Clinton in the White House may at least buy us some time For me, the only important thing is getting rid of bad congressweasels. They're a far more damaging incarnation of fuckery. cavete terrae.
  3. Who cares? Both sides are basically the same except for their views on sexually transmitted parasite removal and whose genitals should touch whose. The individual president shouldn't (EDITED: was "doesn't") matter, anyway, except as the answer to a Jeopardy! question 50 years from now. Congress will continue to be awful. The judicial branch will continue to be awful. 2/3 is enough to ensure bad policies can be made and will be upheld. This will be my first presidential election where I'm back in the US since Bush was in office and will have my vote 'matter' (except it won't). I'll write in someone random for president, possibly myself since I'm eligible now, and will pay more attention to the local and congressional battles where a difference can possibly be made. Except that the political makeup of my area means that I'm still unlikely to make a damned bit of difference. cavete terrae.
  4. Sarcasm aside, the media didn't point out that his voting record was in stark contrast with what he claimed he stood for. Is that their job? Not my call. But with the majority of Americans apparently believing what politicians tell them… ouch. Anyone who is remotely surprised that he turned out to be essentially a continuation of Bush 2.0 with a few exceptions didn't do even a modicum of research. cavete terrae.
  5. Oligarchy for all, and if you support R or D you're only supporting one wing of the same bird. People who think they're substantially different are either naive or one-issue voters. cavete terrae.
  6. I'll take some flak for this but I don't think we should place the lives of children as more important than the lives of adults. It'd be nice to see people stop shooting each other in general. That said, I think we owe it to future generations to stop raising them as fun-free pussies. Political correctness, helicopter parenting, and the nanny state mindset are a bigger problem than barely a gross of dead kids. cavete terrae.
  7. Billy billy billy, you know that's a fake "news" site, right? cavete terrae.
  8. I'm the sort of guy where if I walk in and don't see a seat in the middle (horizontally) close enough to fill my field of view as much as possible but far enough to not hurt my neck, I just walk out and get a refund and come back for a different session. So for me, preassigned is by far better. It lets those of us who plan ahead benefit from doing so. I have better things to do than sit in line for a movie I'm excited to see, and with assigned seating I know in advance if I can get a decent seat or not. Admittedly, there are factors that make it a bit harder such as if you're not familiar with that particular cinema, but it's easy enough to make an educated guess. cavete terrae.
  9. I know I should condemn such things, but if someone had the stones to say "fuck it" and jump into a stadium without authorization I'm honestly quite impressed and highly amused. cavete terrae.
  10. If they don't have their own TLD, they're not a country in my eyes. Fuck England and Scotland. cavete terrae.
  11. These incidents show again and again why police need to lose access to hard ammo as the primary load in their sidearm. Gee, that should make things interesting when an officer finds himself in a gunfight !!! Since they seem to be using the sidearms to kill unarmed people or pump cars full of holes, I see no reason why they should not start with a magazine of rubber or plastic rounds. They are policing a civilian population. They are NOT USMC Force Recon door kickers. Do you have any idea how hard it is to consistently kill dogs and poor people with less-lethal munitions? How can we possibly expect them to get out of bed in the morning and go to work knowing they might have to pistol whip Lassie instead of shoot him when raiding the wrong house? cavete terrae.
  12. BULLSHIT. Barring a severe uptick over the next few months, this year will end with fewer police deaths than we've seen in a long time. And while yes, 83 cops have died on duty this year, a large chunk of those were crashing their cars doing fuck knows what, having heart attacks, or otherwise things that are not the fault of others. cavete terrae.
  13. I have hope for catholicism, other flavors of christianity, judaism, islam and all the other ridiculous group delusions: Hope that they'll die off and humanity can improve once they're not holding us back. Thousands of years of religious democide/genocide and here you are thinking that they'll just disappear by way of mere hope...ha, talk about delusional. That's probably a good thing tho...It seems today that most bigotry is expressed through words rather than by action. The more the fanatical types remain all talk, the better - especially for those who'd prefer to just work together in solving problems, rather than just hoping that people they don't like will just go away. Well, it seems like now that we nonbelievers are less likely to be killed for our lack belief, agnosticism and atheism are growing in the west. I'm hoping that'll continue around the world and that religion can die a natural death as education improves. cavete terrae.

  15. Depends on how much I wanted to humiliate my fellow jumpers by having my father show them how to REALLY party. cavete terrae.
  16. A post from elsewhere. I don't support cheating, but from certain standpoints it makes sense. ______ I do 100% understand the logic behind a quiet affair from a financial standpoint (as noted in another thread). If you (general term) have an affair just for sex, you MIGHT get caught. If you get caught you MIGHT get a divorce. Or… it MIGHT make your marriage tenable. If you get a divorce because you're sexually unsatisfied so you can stick your dick somewhere new, you will almost certainly lose half your shit and be making various forms of payments for a very long time. Not my sort of gamble (I just refuse marriage on general principle), but I "get it." cavete terrae.
  17. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015/08/cops-filmed-behaving-badly-say-pot-shops-camera-illegally-recorded-raid/ God, these fucking guys. Shitlord cops are gonna continue being shitlords until they start being held PERSONALLY accountable for their actions. At the realistic worst, the taxpayers are going to foot the bill for yet another pack of badge-toting gangbangers derping their way through life at the expense of others. In the HIGHLY unlikely event they actually get fired, they can just go fuck up someone's life in a new town. cavete terrae.
  18. It's really not all that dangerous. cavete terrae.
  19. 1 day cricket is great fun to watch. Compared to what? cavete terrae.
  20. Cremate the entire boring sport… When something makes baseball look exciting, something has gone wrong. cavete terrae.
  21. Please don't project your progenetic shortcomings onto the rest of humanity. There's not much to really dispute. It's the classic definition of parasite. cavete terrae.
  22. If she really wants to improve the world, she could make a Gunbarrel a resident of her mouth temporarily. Loopier than a Red Bull Air Race, this one is. Brother, I hope you uttered those words out of and abundance of frustration, coupled with being well into your cups. Regardless, the comment was way out of bounds. I am no supporter of Ms. Gibbs, and have but contempt for those who complain after moving next to an airport or racing circuit... let alone one who apparently lives so far away. Sadly, your transgression exceeds hers, at least in the realm of the things of the soul. How should we deal with our adversaries? I'm not a complete stranger to the perverse sense of satisfaction that comes from prevailing in the arena of armed conflict, and I make no apologies for such satisfaction. Perhaps that is because the opponents were worthy of the result... My very real regrets stem from my own inappropriate responses, be they too much, or too little. Yours are FAR too much. We can rejoice in the current outcome of the conflict with Ms. Gibbs, but your jibe is offensive to all but the most jaded / blinded of souls. I don't intend to insult or beat you up, but I hope you sober up and offer an apology to both Ms. Gibbs, and to the skydiving community. If any skydivers are offended by that, I apologise to them. She, on the other hand, can stay offended. cavete terrae.

  24. Well, there goes my hope of jerking off to the obituary. cavete terrae.
