  1. Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die. Gweedeaux
  2. Laura spoke to him yesterday he is OK and staying with his parents.
  3. I am a Chris there were 6 in my homeroom from 1st grade through graduation. Apparantly it was overly popular post baby boom.

  6. you might drink to much if: You hate it when your lightweight drinking buddies get so drunk you can barely see them. Your tapeworm joined a 12 Step program. You fall down a well and send Lassie to the liquor store. Your liver enters itself in a Tough Man competition.
  7. Goldcoast already has the alternate O.P.P - the original pimp possy- T-shirts available. Call sign is the "shocker"
  8. I was curious, how many active jumpers are there in Jackson Mississippi? If you are part of that group post here I wanted to know who was out there. Thanks
  9. I have two business partners, one jumps the other doesn't. The whuffo partner hates when we even mention skydiving. Unfortunately for him I have had 4 of my employees make tandems. Two went through Aff and one still jumps with me now(I am marrying her). Out of a total of 32 employees 6 have jumped and three still do. I can imagine your joy not to be looked at like a suicidal maniac(at least at first blush) to all of your new co-workers. It took me about a year and 150 jumps before I stopped trying to recruit every human I encountered especcially new employees. It is nice to see an advertisement with Skydiving centerpieced while my company is at a bar or restaurant and catch 5 knowing looks and 27 shaking heads and quizzical looks. Cracks me up.
  10. 3 Hours every weekend for two years(Goldcoast) worth every minute and mile 157,000 on my cadillac after just two years. Ouch, I forgot to add that into the cost of skydiving. oh well.
  11. I agreed to pay for repair( before posting) just curious as to whether i should have a conversation with the packer or not. The repair is 500.00 dollars two blown end cells and torn tail. The opening knocked me out and broke(compression fractures) to t-10 t-11 c-5 c-6 Just had MRI today. Full spine 2400.00 dollars. Aerodyne said it was the result of packing error.(yes Iam lazy and pay packer due to previously broken back, neck, torn ACL,MCL,Medial miniscus and torn rotator cuff) packing hurts...so apparantly does not packing.
  12. What happend to you and how long is the recovery period?
  13. you want me to buy your rig and offer to have me test jump it for the week-end. I hire a packer. I make a jump and blow up the canopy with a line dump. who pays for the repair?
  14. Paul is one heck of a guy and our thoughts and prayers are with him. My girlfriend Laura and I are CRW groupies, huge fans of four play and the rest of the crw dogs. If there is anything we can do give us a call. We are praying for you. Gweedeaux
  15. I could not agree more. It sucks to be the subject of that sort of behavior. I find it best to just ignore it. At the DZ and out in the world. It is small minded people that gossip about others. As a point of fact I am not familiar with any of the participants in the aformentioned incident. I was simply giving a different perspective from which to look at it.
  16. Skydiving is a tough sport with inherent risks and a need for thick skin. I pulled low at jump# 161 ( approx 1200 ft.) Had first malfunction while passing through my cypres altitude reserve fired wrapped around my leg went in under spinning line overed reserve. I still catch mad shit about that one. I am just glad to have survived and still be here to take the ribbing. If they don't care about you they won't be speaking of you. Like the nickname. GweedeauxQuote

  19. A very interesting program showing the effects of exit order. http://www.jumptalk.com/ExitOrder.htm Play with it the results will surprise you.
  20. I couldn't agree more. I travel a lot in the southeast and I would challenge anyone to find a more friendly and hospitable DZ anywhere from the little details to the big provided by DZO Mike Igo (All toiletries are provided from Razors to q-tips and heated and ac'd Bathrooms in addition to clean fresh towels to free coach jumps for beginners) After visiting about 6 DZ's in the southeast and a few in the northeast there is truly nothing else like it. As to the females yup and wow .
  21. Baglock: Def. 1. A high speed malfunction whereby the canopy does not clear the deployment bag resulting in a no canopy out situation. 2. A spouse or significant other who keeps you from jumping. Both extremely dangerous, don't suffer baglock
  22. What a great time. I have been jumping for about a year and this is the first time I felt moved to make a post. Thanks to Kirk VanZandt ,Paul Ferrell Paul Bliss, Tom Balboni ,Jackson ,Lynn, Chuck Blackwell for a great weekend . I made 7 jumps(CRW) including a 7 stack and I was lucky enough to get the chance to close a diamond. I'm hooked. What a great way to learn the finer points of canopy control. Wow, did I have to buy a whole bunch of beer though. At last count I was at 7 cases.
