  1. FYI: The RW (yellow) cable coating is Lolon, not Teflon.
  2. UPT isn't the only manufacturer to offer magnetic riser covers, Jump Shack in the Racer and Basik in the Advance Seven do as well. Also, UPT will cut you a semi-stowless bag for any container if you give them dimensions (if they don't already have them).
  3. Who owns the SkyVan: Spaceland/SDC or Deland or other?
  4. One thing you can also do is when you pack, put a crease in the toggle by folding the toggle upwards such that they will be standing up when you deploy. See post #3 in this thread: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4074678;page=unread#unread
  5. Unicorn "meat" is an actual product at thinkgeek now. http://www.thinkgeek.com/e5a7?srp=1
  6. Orlando got new fans a year or so ago. It made a big improvement. The switch to iFly was a good thing for it.
  7. Something also to remember, that pack volumes can vary up to 10% depending on manufacturing variances of not just the skin and ribs of the canopy, but also all the other components that make up the canopy: the reinforcing tapes, the line attachment tapes, and the lines.
  8. Ask CRW dogs and/or manufacturers. They aren't a common thing, obviously. I've seen sets around UPT before and JT used risers supplied by Sunpath (if I recall correctly) for some of the first big (as in published) XRW stuff he did.
  9. They've been around for a long time, they are called trim tab risers.
  10. Peavey did it for several years, and even put it on both the Bromberg and Sarzo basses at one time. Been around for a long while, but this is a good product demo. Have you heard what Neil Zaza is doing with some of this stuff? His brother is a wingsuiter on this forum. OH yea! You had mentioned that while I was out at S'nore. I had completely forgotten. I'll be checking him out. During the 90's I went to NAMM regularly, a pretty interesting time for music technology. I was blown away the first time I saw time stretching with pitch stability.
  11. This is GraphTech's answer to the Roland GK2/3, it's been around for almost 20 years now, in fact it's Roland's signaling and standard (the 13 pin connector) they are using. Godin has been doing a piezo bridge with individual saddle pickups to MIDI conversion for a long time using LR Baggs bridges (now they use RMC). Carvin has a setup the do in some pieces (using the GraphTech system), Parker Fly did (does?). I know I'm missing some other companies that build stock guitars with this capability.

Spiffy. The level of detail was what made me wonder.
  13. And this is the URL for Icarus Canopies, the makers of NEOS, etc.: http://icaruscanopies.aero/

Speaking of V4's, was your logo done on your tail wing with the new application method (like the Need 4 Speed logos), traced cut and sewn on, or was it embroidered?

Doc, I wasn't painting you with that brush.
  16. My head hurts now. Skwrl: Re: startfox, do a barrel roll!

Also, from postings here and from talking with other jumpers, the time to get a suit can be hampered (significantly so with some) by the dealer you use as they will hold onto orders or in some cases lose/forget. Macca (IIRC) responded to someone's post earlier this year who was inquiring about a long lead time, where the order actually went through two different dealers before getting to PF which added a huge amount of time to the whole process.
  18. The RSL's stuck out in my mind during my practical: reading through SB's, Sunpath's directions on non-permanent removal of the RSL has to be done by a master rigger; taking off the lanyard and putting on a piece of pile Velcro over the hook on the reserve riser.
  19. Really, since when? Because Robi made no mention of it a couple weeks ago... PF's lead time last I heard was around 12 weeks, with the V4 having a significantly larger lead. As for Nitro Rigging, I jump at Deland and have seen a couple of his suits on the ground. Haven't been in the air with another person wearing one. What would you like to know (if I can answer)?
  20. Elsinore is a good option if you want to stay close. It's a nice DZ with some great people there.
  21. Very evident at 11 seconds in on that Youtube link, you can see pure blur on the planes prop. granpasc, the camera that was being used for this was very high-end kit that required a laptop and ideally a 3 man team (though, our shooter, Ciamac, was good enough he did it himself).
  22. There was a mention of this in a recent issue of Parachutist. http://parachutistonline.com/safety_training/ask_a_rigger/inspecting-your-gear
  23. Skillz to pay the billz. Lol. My total time spent picture editing of my entire life doubled when I spent the 15 minutes to do that. I'll never be a photog or artist.
