  1. Are you a member of Costco? If so, I'm seeing rentals for 3 days for much cheaper than what you quoted. http://www.costcotravel.com/#11_rentalCars
  2. CX150 = HDR-CX150 yes. The harddrive models are called SR not CX, so don't get a HDR-SR... camera for skydiving purposes. For skydiving you want a CX model that has EIS, like the CX100, CX105, CX110, CX115,CX116, CX150. You may have to buy one 2nd hand as all the newer models of CX camera have OIS (=optical image stabilisation, which is not so good for skydiving). Uh, sort of wrong. HDR XR-110/150 = Hard drive based version of CX. DCR-SX series = flash based, standard def, DCR-SR = Hard drive based standard def.
  3. This is very thin, it's the diameter of angel hair pasta.
  4. Does it come in all black and have multiple mounting places for GoPros?
  5. I'm not disagreeing with the need for night jumps, but getting night jumps can be a right proper pain. For being in a state that has jumping year round, the night jump opportunities aren't often. I've been trying to get one over a year now and my timing hasn't lined up with the very few that have come up. Now, I don't see this as much of an issue, except that a D is required for Pro and Tandem ratings.
  6. Over the tail? Upsize for safety!
  7. It's a C license minimum to do an intentional. I know this because I wanted to do one first thing after getting my C. Funnily enough, PD packed me a mal on 191, 2 weeks after I had repacked my reserve while working on my ticket; the jump ended up being a load of firsts: first chop, first reserve ride, first reserve save. I got myself good and drunk upon landing. Oh well, c`est la vie.
  8. Strong makes a three containers on the back rig just for this purpose. Jump Shack makes an intentional cut away rig but with a belly mount for the last the canopy.
  9. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4112575;search_string=cobalt%20h;#4112575 H-mod is what you're looking for.
  10. Michael, can't wait to get the mount. Going on a Factory Diver and that combo, 141/110 seemed to align perfectly
  11. The number you're looking at, 176 pounds, is the max they feel an advanced skydiver should weigh and be able to safely pilot the thing. The number on the far right, 220 pounds, is the maximum weight that should be suspended under it. I'm hazarding to guess that is what the reserve was TSO'ed at and if so, that means (in the US, no clue about UK's rules) it would be illegal to use if you weighed more than that.
  12. Also, be aware that the Optimum reserve that is sold for reserve purposes (as opposed to the Optimums that PD has in their demo fleet) have uncoated Spectra linesets that will not wear as well as Spectra on say, a Sabre 2.
  13. Call or email them and ask. They may have the dimensions already, if not they can get them from you and build it up.
  14. Doc, thanks for mentioning the strut exit. I used that today to jump from a 182. Took a little shuffle stepping to get out on the jump step but launched well and away of the tail.
  15. In full disclosure I did my FFC with Jarno. We did my exit sitting in a grand caravan that had a fast jump run. It got me out stable, very clear of the tail, and head up with an overall good first flight.
  16. Thanks for the Home Depot hint. Picked up a can, took about a half a can to do one pass (front, back and inside) on my suit.
  17. Supposedly Scott Miller swooped a Navigator in competition, not a 7 cell, but...
  18. If Jarno gets superknackered to where he's sick again, he'll be singing soprano. I'm looking at flight options myself.
  19. Only if Jarno promises to not get super knackered and take off his boxers.
  20. True, but you could do it with a funny accent. I want Jarno's accent, it is pretty sexy.
  21. Haven't seen an old Liebert like that in a while. They are spectacular when they wet themselves.
