  1. Why would you avoid a Vector container if you need a 260 canopy? I don't see how it relates, but they do make Vectors that fit that size canopy here is a the size chart http://www.unitedparachutetechnologies.com/PDF/CHART_00037___Rig_Sizing_Chart_11_28_58(1).pdf You would be looking at something around a V375 or V382 or something else depending on your body type Also Javelin offers skyhook as well as Aerodyne in answering your other question, but Bill Booth owner of UPT aka Vector did invent the the skyhook system For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  2. Anybody have a link to the video featured a while back ago where there were a few skydivers in a porter (I think) plane stalled right before exit and they got pinned inside the plane? Pilot got out just before the plane crashed no one was killed For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  7. I don't think this justify's a new thread so I'll ask it here, What max Reserve WL would you deem survivable/safe to land unconscious provided open flat terrain? I remember someone posted that 1.4 WL gave them a decent rate of 17mph with brakes stowed. If you haven't posted in the poll please don't post those stats there simply type the numbers here thanks For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  9. To the best of my knowledge I am unaware of any U.S DZ's that restrict certain rigs base on age. In the U.S I believe its more to do with airworthness and what sort of flying you intend on doing with the rig. About your first question regarding an opinion about the older V3's in 97 sorry but I'm clueless since I'm a gear whore and only research the newest toys lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  10. One out of how many? What can a 150 do that a 170 can't? Sparky A 150 would get better penetration into the wind if you're a lightweight like me. huh huh someone said penetrate huh huh For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  11. On a further note could this software allow us skydivers to practically use any HD camera and be able to "clean" up the footage therefore having smooth, steady, clear footage? 12. Of course you'd have to factor in electric prices depending on location and at the same time be in a relatively close proximity to a city so that you'd have customers. It's a delicate balance IHMO For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  13. Hope is not a strategy. True, but it is an observation about the minute differences which can result in either life or death OK. Given that you've noticed one of the minute differences that puts you in a risk catagory, what do you intend to do about it, if anything? Do you see as a big risk? As a genuine question - I'm not going to give you a hard time no matter your answer - did you know about these sorts of catagories when you picked that wing? If so, why did you feel that the Advanced bracket was right for you? Genuinely interested. Not to back him up on his choice of canopy nor do I condone it as I do not know him or have seen him land nor am I all that experienced, but just stating that I do not believe that just because he falls within the "advanced" category does not mean that he must be an advanced canopy pilot to handle it. For example I load my Sabre2 at 1.2 and fall within the "expert" category(and also fall within Brian Germains WL chart) while IF I downsized to a Katana 107 I'd load it at 1.31 and yet still go BACK a category and be within the "Advanced". Again I'm still searching for that explanation I saw on a thread a while back ago......looking for the correct definition but so far its been eluding me! lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  16. It's really quite rather hard to categorize and I remember having a discussion about this interpretation a while back ago. Maybe PCchapman can come and elaborate as well As far as the intermediate, expert and max I just can't quite get my mind around it.....Currently I'm on a sabre2 120 at 1.2 which is under the "Expert" category..... While on the other hand if I were to downsize to a Katana 107 I would therefore be under the "Advanced" category.. In no way would I say that a Katana 107 is more docile than my Sabre2 120 so it just difficult to wrap my mind around it. But I'll try and find out where I remember reading the correct interpretation edit to add: I recently spoke to a PD rep at a boogie and they pretty much stated that to be able to jump a Katana you should have a minimum of 500 jumps and current regardless of wingloading and size. 19. If you feel the difference of speed between chest strap tight and chest strap loose than you might understand the difference... Gotta love the difference, just bought a chest strap extension lengthening mine from 14in to 28in !! Next rig will have around a 32in chest strap lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  20. There is no "recommended average" in terms of weight, but in reality it really depends on your height and flexibility. Also your fall rate really varies on jump to jump depending on the people who you jump with. If you tend to jump 4 way or whatever with the same people and can't quite fall as fast as needed be simply add a few pounds to a weight belt 'feel' what speed/weight works best for you in the sky. Trial and error I suppose. G'luck and hope it works out well! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
