  1. First rig setup had a V308 with a OP 143 reserve and Pulse 150 as my initial setup. Barely could even offer $10 to pay a packer to pack my pulse 150 into it..... Not comfortable setup, felt very brick like, and not recommended however it did fit. If you do choose to go for OP 143 in V308, which is tight but doable, do get a 120 sized canopy for better all around comfort and not to mention ease of packing. 3. If you aren't rushing so much and have the time to wait a few extra months, you may even want to consider Fluidwings half x-braced canopy that they made a video about a few days ago. 4. Just had mine done and my local rigger charges $90 USD for wash + another $90 USD for I+R along with additional $9 USD main pack job. For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  5. Should also add in the Helix from Fluid Wings to compare! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  6. Don't forget that this is Skydive Dubai and they are loaded. They had 2 plane crashes within a 6month period, both otters crashed. They just bought 2 NEW otters AND a sherpa. Not sure when it's coming in, but from what I've heard ''soon''. Hope this helps. For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  7. Honest question, why doesn't PD make smaller canopies than 71sq ft? I understand their logic about not making "ANY" size made to order, but why nothing smaller than 71? I know plenty of people that would jump smaller canopies than a 71 if PD offered it, but instead have to resort to wearing plenty of lead. Sure the market wouldn't be all that huge, but still a small niche market nonetheless. 8. Good DZ's? Empuriabrava cheap? Moorsele belgium.....cheaper if you are a member Done with good advice? Try to do as much cooking as possible as eating out in Europe is quite expensive especially around Norway/Sweden/Denmark. Tunnel advice? Don't do more than 45min of flying a day+majority of coaches don't teach static aka no RW/HU/HD and usually teach you dynamic. Just because your body won't tire from 45min a day of dynamic doesn't mean your brain won't be completely worn. Jumping? Be positive, socialize and have fun! If you move your trip to June/July there are so many boogies happening.... freely playdate boogie in Finland beginning early July Vector Fest in France 1hr north of Lyon mid-July Hellaherb Beromünster boogie in Switzerland right after vectorfest Angle week in Nassinge Sweden same time as the Swiss boogie Flanders boogie end of July tip beginning of Aug For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  9. Only full time DZ that is open in all of Asia is Thailand and Japan. Thailand has 2 DZ's one just south of BKK international airport (1hr drive) and another DZ 1.5hr drive east of Udon Thani airport Other DZ in Japan is more of a novelty jump location as jump ticket prices are $90 a jump Or if you are really adamant about great jumping then Australia is your best bet then. 10. No jumping whatsoever in Malaysia. Tunnel sucks and only can sit fly there if you have a very baggy suit, but on the up side is stupid cheap. Great for learning back+slow speed dynamic basics. Buy plane tickets up to Bangkok and hit up the DZ there called thaiskyadventures 1hr drive from the airport open 6 days a week. Old porter, but quick and jump ticket prices are 950baht which is $30 USD a jump. Plane ticket from KUL-BKK is usually around $180-$250 depending on your airlines. Airasia is quite cheap. There are a few jumpers that live in KL and fly up to BKK once a month to jump. Also many jumpers that live in Singapore/Hongkong fly over about once a month to jump. If ya move, maybe will see ya around TSA2 DZ. Cheers For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  11. Either Spain's boogies or Dubai winterfest boogie, provided you have at least 500 jumps minimum. For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  12. The cheapest somewhat nearby hotel to the palm DZ is the IBIS al barsha hotel (10-15min cab ride to DZ, cabs are relatively cheap) which if I can recall correctly was around $120 USD a night? Then again that was during New Years for their boogie so I'm sure they hiked up the prices all around? If you are comfortable with staying in other people's homes, I'd recommend looking into airbnb where you pay significantly less and you usually end up meeting quite interesting people while staying at their home/room for a reasonable price. G'luck finding something and have plenty of fun! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  13. Anyone flying into Lyon, France (LYS) airport on July 8th that is headed to the DZ? If so let me know. A friend and I are both headed to the DZ by train from LYS at 11:30am if you'd like to travel with! 15. Damn you! Hate when I can't find video's any longer. But yea, totally pounding in left and right while even sometimes landing right besides dustdevils. It was truly a spectacular show of their commitment that they had in downsizing! They have a demo each year that they do for a holiday called "children's day". Needless to say, a certain branch of the military became essentially grounded from doing those demo's since so many of them have died each year without fault and the survivors continue pounding in right in front of the kids......Its quite the show IMHO I'm off to probably go get shot now......you're welcome for the info! 16. Hope you can cancel/change your plane tickets and take different dates off of work as they JUST changed the dates of the event. Now they are saying June 22 - 30 for the record and July 1 - 6 for the "boogie" or better yet known as belly only flying camp. 17. This is standard practice for a certain country military, no joke! The higher ranking that they are the smaller canopy they have regardless of experience. A certain commander jumps at my dz here, 350 jumps with a Velo 96 @ 2.0 and not to mention other guys jumping Katana 97's with 200 jumps at 1.8 WL (asking me what I begin my 90's at....I said 410 ft WL mine at 1.5, he then said "well that's good that I didn't do my 90 at 150ft then... LOL"). If any body says other wise they have the power and authority to literally shut down the DZ. Oh well .... have fun! 18. Oh yea about those prices, apparently they were a typo on their website and its $799USD just for the boogie and if you plan on doing the record/you qualify then thats more. The weather in Malaysia can be a hit or miss during that time of the year so if you pay the $799 just hope you get good sunny weather most of the time or else you'll be paying all that money to hang out at a DZ and there is no refund that I know of. Still.....they shouldn't call it a boogie if they don't allow freeflying, wingsuiting, etc or canopies smaller than 97's regardless of experience. They should call it a belly camp or FS camp with no canopies smaller than 97's allowed even if you are Arizona Airspeed or Hayabusa. 20. Don't bother registering if you plan on Freeflying or wingsuiting or have a canopy smaller than a 97......Great "boogie" this shall be...... For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  23. Malaysia Langkawi boogie with C130 plane! May 27 - June 9th 56-way Record from May 27th - June 3rd Boogie from June 4th - June 9th Recommend you to register now as there are only 30slots left, boogie is being capped at 170 people I believe. You do not need to pay until later. (If freeflying write in PF group besides your name) *Rumor has it that no groups less than 8people are allowed to exit, so please be comfortable in larger formations. $399 USD for unlimited jumping during the boogie (not record) isn't a bad deal at all right?! Best bet is to fly into KUL airport and then a 1hr domestic flight to Langkawi airport. Hope to see everyone there! http://www.skydive.com.my https://www.facebook.com/MalaysiaSkyfestLangkawiBoogie2013?fref=ts LATEST NEWS | THE TEAM ---------------------------------- We are pleased to announce that we have assembled and confirmed our Team of world class Load Organizers and Aerial Cameramen for the Malaysia International Skydiving Festival Langkawi Boogie 2013. 25. It might have adequate pin tension I don't know as it depends on various factors such as humid or dry weather & new 120 or 1000jumps on your 120, but you might get away with it. Pack it and find out if there is enough pin tension and if you are not sure then ask your rigger. Shortening your closing loop may help the situation. Saying that, I don't recommend it nor do I condone it as per the manufacture not listing it/recommending it paired with that size canopy. Stating the obvious: And if there isn't adequate pin tension and your rigger deems it not suitable then its simply time to buy a smaller container. Or just keep your current rig setup. What's the big deal? For one you might end up with a horseshoe malfunction....... For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
