  1. My exact guess as well. Plus if there is any impact I'm lead to believe that carbon fiber would crack under a certain pressure as apposed to ABS plastic which would dent therefore reducing/absorbing more blunt of the blow and dispersing the energy throughout the helmet. edit to add: Still can't deny the carbon fiber G2 look of the helmet though ! 2. In all this debate/discussion regarding tracking/atmonauti/angle flying I never came across anyone specifying stats in reference to distance. In a perfect world a person who is let's say for example 5'10 and 170lbs or 77kg and flying in exact wind speeds and exiting along with pulling at the exact same altitude, which would go further in terms of horizontal distance? Would steeper go farther or would flatter cover more horizontal distance or perhaps a combination of both like during break off in HD flying and repeating the cycle till pull time? My theory would be flatter but I'm just guessing and have no data or math to back it up. 3. Apparently many people on the show "Baggage" by Jerry Springfield have stated that they love to skydive and by many I mean at least 10 that I've seen! Not sure if it was just their one time thing or that they're actually skydivers, but go for it and state that you're a badass! I have a UPT Vector 3 Micron 308 with PD SabreII 120 + PD Optimum 126 Also think that UPT makes the best containers in my opinion Similar rig discussion information here http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4009846;page=unread#unread For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  6. That was pretty much the perfect wingsuit jump. You really would not want to go much lower. Of course it looks like he did land on his rears. Saved himself much pain by landing on the other side of the hill !! For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  8. That's seriously impressive and you seem VERY fit! Go get that license of yours! I can only imagine to have that many dives(only 30 at the moment) and also hope to complete an Ironman later on......and I'm 23! 9. is very different from hey, he got like 24 seconds canopy time, that wasn't close This is closer. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9194881818135049107# Even closer.....Practically can't beat it......unless of course you pull while walking on the ground http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rq2k78vEfUo For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  11. I know of a DZ on the east cost that charges $27 for 13.5k and been wanting to check it out the vibe but its slightly far and rather pricey(might be the most expensive in the U.S) but damn I've gotta get out to the West Coast! My DZ's 5k cost more than full altitude out there 27% more to be exact.... edit to add seems that its your home DZ! oops lol For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  13. Not as good filming as Steve, but THIS one is the record run a full 2m longer! 15. Even if it were true which it isn't, you would be talking about lasting 4,000 compared to lasting 5,000 jumps. I kind of doubt you'd be on that exact same canopy and size for that long if you have that many jumps. 16. Just asking to clarify (since your sarcasm switch makes it unclear): would this be okay for an owner to do (i.e., sliping something over the strap, rather than attaching it some way)? Yes, that would be fine. UPT sells leg covers for people who swoop or just slide in their landings to protect their leg straps from dirt/ grime & wear and tear. $20 for a pair http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=371113851148&set=a.188825226148.128358.64761516148&type=1&theater For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp
  17. Why would you need the leg straps replaced if you purchased a new container? I'm hoping that you purchased a USED container NEW to YOU, if not then there is sth wrong with that manufacturer. 18. If you have the dough you could also possibly check out zeal optics goggles which have a micro display that visually tell you your altitude, decent rate, horizontal speed, and GPS location. Jeb Corliss seems to be using them and is rather fond of it for wingsuiting/proxy flying. https://www.zealoptics.com/transcend/ For info regarding lift ticket prices all around the world check out http://www.jumpticketprices.com/dropzones.asp

  21. Thank you very much! It explained much. Javelin or Vector seem as good alternatives. Stripped I expect to weigh 206-211 lbs. When looking at main canopies I would be classified as a novice with a Pulse 230 but as an intermediate with a Silhouette 260. I look for conservative, but should Pulse be a better option because of my weight? I don't really give canopy size advice/information on DZ.com since you should be receiving the best advice from your current instructors at your DZ, nor do I have the experience to. On the other hand don't necessarily look at the categories the canopy falls into but more about your WL which is your total weight divided by canopy size. I'm sure your instructors will provide the much information needed. Keep in mind you want to add around 25lbs or 11kg for gear weight. Ideally right after receiving your license you want to stay around a WL of 1:1 , but yes the Pulse is a great canopy for a beginner plus slightly easier to pack due to the different bottom skin fabric and packs up approximately 1-2 sizes smaller than a Silhouette depending on which size canopy you order. A Pulse 230 may be a good first canopy, but check with your instructors prior to purchasing the canopy. Cheers, stay safe, & G'luck! 24. Throw me an 84 velo and I'll swoop I have seen a few people hook in and get seriously injured and understand that if you do swoop its NOT IF you will ever pound in a bit but its WHEN(provided you do it long enough). Its a risk that I'll be willing to accept in the future when I get some additional experience. I plan on it soon once I have a bit more experience and which I am currently working towards
