  1. I predict they will win the World Series this year. I hope okay maybe that is too much to hope for. Go Cubbies If only Harry Caray could have been alive to see this. sniff sniff I miss him.
  2. I woke up this morning and got my self a beer Roadhouse blues best song they put out.
  3. The company that I work for was just recently bought out by a much larger Corp. and they required everyone to sign agreements. I will have to read through it again. I do remember that they had very tough restrictions on computer usage. ie all software has to be approved by Corp. office and can only be installed by the Admin. in charge. I will have to check and see if there is anything regarding remote connection by Admin. Everyone in the company has gotten very used to me connecting and fixing what ever their problem was. It is vary rare that I will connect with out them knowing in advance. I don't have any interest in spying on people.
  4. hmm This company has been using it that way for quite awhile. I have always considered computers to be just a tool and should not be used as if it were a personal computer and that anything that anyone put on it is by default company property.
  5. Dameware huh I will have to check that out. That could be useful. I haven't heard of it.
  6. Just remember that is very possible that the Admin can see exactly what you see on your monitor. I use a product called Proxy by Funk Software to maintain and monitor all of the computers on my network. At any time I can connect remotly to any of the computers on my network and watch what is going and take control if necessary. I have it setup so that there is no indication that I am connected. It works great. There is very little hesitation on the remote computer.
  7. There are other things other then skydiving? Guess you could say I am into computers. But that is my job.
  8. On Silver Springs blvd?
  9. Is it the one by the fire dept. on Maricamp? I used to live in Ocala they have lots of those statues painted all different ways scattered through out town.
  10. they have statues of horses painted up similar to that in Ocala, FL that horse could be one of them. I didn't pay much attention to any of them.
  11. usually the guys with video cameras are pretty busy doing there own thing. Its not like the whole dropzone stops what they are doing to watch him land and he doesn't land in the main landing area.
  12. What I was trying to say is that he was not sinking it in and there is some amount of swoop there. Those pictures are pretty misleading if that is the only information you have to go on.
  13. "I'm so confused. Maybe it's just semantics but you aren't shutting anything down - you're sinking a tiny canopy in. From what I can tell you have little to no forward motion on your landing, you're practically coming straight down. How could you even run it out - there's nothing to run!" I have watched Steels landings under both the 62sft and 55sqft canopies. While the swoop distance under the 55sqft are definitely shorter then under the 62sqft there is a certain amount of swoop there. I may not know much about swooping, but I do know what I see. I also know that for there to be no forward movement relative to a point on earth he would have to be facing the wind and the wind speed would have to equal the forward speed of his canopy or the canopy would be diving strait down. In order to land a ram air parachute properly you need to have some forward speed.

  15. "crw requires very skilled and knowleded intruction" Spelling aside I have found this to be very true. I now have 12 CReW jumps and feel like I have learned a lot, but I also have a lot more to learn. I never realized just how techincal CReW is. It requires a lot of skill and knowledge of how canopy's fly. Now when I look at a picture of a 28 way diamond I have an idea of just how much skill each of the canopy pilots need to have in order to complete the formation. It's a lot harder then it looks!
  16. SD Dallas held their Sept. CReW camp this last weekend. I managed to make it to it. All I can say is WOW I learned a lot. I managed to get in 6 jumps on Sat. I wasn't able to go Sun. due to work. I now have about 11 CReW jumps under me and I have learned a lot. One of the things that I learned was just how little I knew about canopy control and an idea of just how much there is to learn. The expierance of jumping with some highly skilled CReW dogs was well worth the time and effort. The guys there were very generous with their knowledge and skills. If anyone has the chance to make it out to SD Dallas for next months CReW camp, I highly recommend that they do so. I will definitely make it a priority to be there. This last weekend has been a real highlight of my skydiving experience.
