  1. So what kind of tent space do you guys have there?
  2. Money and LOTs of it.
  3. Windows 2000 Advanced Server and Redhat Linux
  4. One of our homegrown tandem instructors quote "bullied" his mother into coming out and doing a tandem on mothers day. About 8000' she started saying she didn't want to go. She started shedding tears shortly He must not have like his mother to put her through that. I certainly don't think very highly of someone that would attempt to force someone to skydive much less someone who would do that to their own mother.
  5. I went through all of that. Personally for me it didn't take that much to transition to BOC. I never really looked at my ripcord handle, relied on feel. Only missed once, but didn't have any trouble finding it in enough time. I flat packed for about 50 jumps after A licence, then switched to pro pack because people got really annoyed with the amount of space it took to flat pack. Maybe some people would have more trouble transitioning.
  6. I believe in god and its pretty obvious he doesn't like me much. Either that or he has bad sense of humor.
  7. When she does have a cutaway I am fairly sure that will be the furthest thing from her mind. Reality would be much different then what she must be imagining. HMM just reread the post before this. Duh
  8. ha ha maybe he will reform the womens wanted posters That will be a very entertaining campaign
  9. some things are wrong and will always be wrong no matter how hard people try to make them right. These are emotional topics and people will always get upset over them.
  10. pulled at about 2000' in the saddle at about 1200' Stupid me did that on my first jump of my trip Chicago
  11. Where do you live? I will send a bottle of Tequila
  12. It's not very comfortable. lol just kidding! but it's a thought. My rig happens to be the most expensive item that I have ever owned.
  13. Exactly right. And some whuffos are really better off not skydiving. ie they are unable to manage the risks involved in high risk sports.
  14. "You just don't wake up one day saying "hey let's go spend 250$ for a 50 sec freefall"." I did. Well somewhat like that. Drove by Chicagoland Skydiving back when it was Pheonix Skydiving and saw their sign and immediately went home and called them.
  15. The statistics have nothing to do with my thoughts on this matter. Skydiving is dangerous. So are a lot of other sports. It is even more dangerous if someone is not really wanting to do it, but is pressured into it by friends.
  16. Don't bother to try. If they are not enthusiastic about making a skydive, then they shouldn't bother trying. It is not for half hearted. You have to really want to skydive. I would never try to force someone to skydive. It needs to be their voluntary decision to skydive. If something went wrong and they got hurt or died I would feel responsible. I don't want that on my conscience. Do you?
  17. Hey Keith, You seem to know a lot about these guys. Did you jump with them and if so what did you think of it? Cause it is definitely on my To Do list. I am not much worried about how they are managing to do their demo jumps, just making sure I set money aside for their jump course. By the way Normandy do you only do two jump course's a year?

    Okay

I am an asshole!! so what.
  19. I understand its there is a difference between the para commander and T10. I would like to try both. But, not without proper training. Till now I didnt think anyone other then the military did any jumps on T10's
  20. I have been wanting to jump vintage gear and will most likely jump a Para Commander soon. I will keep checking your website and make plans to participate in one of your training camps. The August one is too soon for my current budget. I mostly just want to see how well I stand up to that type of training and landing the old parachutes. I believe that I would have been a skydiver no matter what type of equipment was available and would like to prove that to myself. I currently have 232 jumps on modern gear. I haven't PLF'ed any landings, but I do understand how it works and look forward to making use of it in your camps. The most valuable things in life don't come easy, you have to work for them. I certainly don't expect your camp to be easy and would be dissappointed if it were easy.
  21. To be reenactors I would think they would have to be trying to recreate a specific battle or event. From their website it looks like the just do demo jumps with old T10's It is definitely on my list of things to do.
  22. If I had $750 right now I would be right there. Sounds like a really great way to remember those served in WWII. Especially the paratroopers.
