  1. I was gonna try a taste test to find out once when they were selling them in front of the supermarket ... but they threatened to call the cops ... had to forego that idea ... :( ...
  2. If you want a 2nd opinion on that ... you've got a lecherous old man to volunteer a test feel ...
  3. I'd fess up, but my g/f knows I post on here now, and if she found it, then I'd have to explain when, and who the 2 chicks were .... what's the term I've seen on here?? ... bad juju ...
  4. LOL ... nope ... but maybe Jessica does ...
  5. LOL ... Hey - get off his case ... at least he left his jeans on ... and he didn't post a pic to prove he can get them behind his head!
  6. I think the key was in your 2nd post there .... "his first student" ! Hopefully, he'll learn to deal with the fact that a lot of beginners aren't going to do everything right the first time he jumps with them. I agree with the other posts - find a different JM to work with. I'm pretty much a newbie at it too, but thanks to an ear problem that limits me to one jump every week to 10 days, have spent a lot of time sitting around the dz talking with folks, and from what most JM's I've talked with tell me, the only time they would discourage anyone from continuing is if they (stress the they ... more than one JM having input) felt that the student just didn't have the mental makeup to be able to make quick decisions to save their lives (some people DO just seem to freak out in pressure situations).
  7. Hook ... I'm starting to think you just like to tinker!
  8. if you deployed the main and it blew ... would it not still have slowed you down enough that a quick cut/reserve deployment would have a good chance of not blowing the reserve? Hopefully it doesn't happen with me anytime soon ... lol ... not enough experience to necessarily be able to catch up with him in the first place ... especially with my lack of weight!
  9. I'm still pretty new to all this, but shouldn't a rigger ask for the rig manual if he's not accustomed to it? I keep mine in my gear box for just such an ocassion, and it has been used!

    Voodoo

definitely agree with that ... I bought a VooDoo also ... and talked with them about it first ... they were very helpful
  11. ROFL ... too late for him to try ... I snagged that bugger while ya'll were asleep!!
  12. nah ... they decided those were to dangerous for me ... only let me carry pictures of 'em nowadays ...
  13. gotta be right on that one ... don't see any hard drive action going on ... lol ...
  14. Pockets PLEASE .... well worth the extra $1.50 or so per shirt .... :)
  15. I'm sure no psych expert, but I'd try focusing on your dive plan and emergency procedures (or whatever ... just something to keep your mind occupied) on the way up. Getting ready for the ride up for my first I just KNEW I'd be scared shitless, but thanks to the instructors, I was going over all that stuff and didn't have time to get scared. My guess is that you'll get yourself over it after a while, once your brain starts to believe it's no big deal again. Then you can go back to worrying about getting out!

    DOOR!

    backup braking system? ... lol
  17. 160 Triathlon ... just about 1:1 ... and loving it!!
  18. I've been trying to work on side slides too ... so read all this with interest ... I tried this one tho ... "while keeping your hips and shoulders stationary, turn just your chest/torso section to one side" ... can't do it at all!! ... don't know if I'm just to old and stiff or what, but I tested myself against a wall just to see ... if I turn my torso even just a little ... the hips rotate too ... can keep the shoulders in place tho
  19. Mine is a 160 Triathlon ... welcome to it as long as I get to watch ...
  20. ???? ... only on the way up, and once back down??? ... why not some "REAL" CReW ... would that be a 2 way 2 stack???
  21. Slow fall contest ... now THERE'S one I might could win ... LOL. 6'2" and 145 lbs ... AggieDave ... let me know the next time you're gonna get loose from the books, etc. ... will let you borrow my protrack ... I'm only using it for fallrate right now, not as an alarm.
  22. Thanks for all the input! A spare closing loop was shipped with my container, so I'll use it when it needs replacing THIS time. About removing the pullup ... was shown to loop it under the pin so that when I pull, most of the abrasive force is against the pin rather than the loop ... would that not help with the Spectra (also, maybe remove it slowly so as to not build up heat)?
  23. that makes sense ... thanks! Being 145 lbs. on that 215 ... definitley underloaded ... landed backing up twice on it ... lol.
  24. what?? ... no maroon thumb as a background??
  25. I was reading the checklist area, and saw the recommendation that you change out your closing loop on a monthly basis. Can someone roughly translate that into jump numbers for me? Thanks to my ear problem, I often only get 2 jumps in a month, and I know it doesn't need to be changed that often. Yes ... I DO inspect it every time I pack ... just curious.
