  1. most definitely ... lol ... he's the one got me into this sport ... we still do a lot of fishing and such when he's up to it ... and are supposed to make Lost Prairie ... then on up to Alaska for some trout/salmon fishing this year.
  2. the "dad" one that actually stuck and makes sense ... "always be willing to listen ... even someone you might think is dumb knows some things that you don't know" in spite of being an agnostic ... the old "do unto others" really does apply love alone is not enough to make a relationship work ... :( ... I only have to live up to my own standards ... and have discovered that in most cases they are higher than those of a lot of others ... I might temporarily regret not doing something (or someone) ... but I can live with myself the next day!
  3. I agree wholeheartedly with Pammi's post, and some of the other thoughts expressed ... is our right to speak our mind (thanks HH!) .. whether we used it prior to opening our mouths or not. better they do it on here than in the air with me!! PS ... rgoper ... I think you oughta go with the misspelled version ... Groper seems so much more appropriate in here!! ... LOL
  4. Ok AggieDave ... got it shot and loaded ... http://www.net1.net/~beachbum/trackin.jpg
  5. Thanks much! ... to Lisa and everyone else who contributes ... :)
  6. smallest student rig where I went thru aff was a 215 ... which I load at about .7 .... I had to literally hang on the risers with all my weight to get anything noticeable out of them ...
  7. Dave ... I backpack out there some ... another option to consider is Guadalupe Mts. .... we can talk about it up at Waller if/when we both make it on the same day!! ... came down with some sorta flu or something, so didn't go today ... :(

    Finally!

I got into the site ok ... congratulations to you both ... good shots ... I'm guessing those are 35s, not captures from video? ... hmmm ... does that mean 8 pies??
  9. congrats! .... lemon meringue sound tasty??
  10. Ok ... I have a mailing address, a website, and a slight correction ... the tax deduction thing, is worded "donations over $5 are deductible" .... Please include your return address, and they also asked for a telephone number, tho I'm not sure that is required. Website for the event is http://rangeweb.tamu.edu/relayforlife donations can be mailed to our team captain at: Angie Morehead 911 Lazy Lane Bryan, TX 77802 thanks again!
  11. oh ... and luckily ... I don't HAVE to run ... just walk for a specified time slot. and also ... there will be demo jumps to open and end the event.
  12. don't have a pic of the shirt ... good idea tho ... will try to get one of my neighbors digicams and take one to post ... guess I shoulda added my email address ... be easier ... [email protected]
  13. Well ... seem to be a lot of serious posts the past day or so .. decided to add one more. Being pretty new to the board, I'm not sure if this is inappropriate and will get killed or not ... but here goes. The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life event will be April 26-27 in College Station. I am going to be part of a team that has been named Tracking for the Pond in honor of a man who has terminal lung cancer. He is the person who got me into skydiving, and has become a close friend ... I am quite honored to be asked to be on the team. I was very fortunate to get to make a jump with him shortly after I got off student status, since I believe he will not be able to jump any longer. I expect that a lot of the Houston area folks on here know him. As team members we have been asked to raise funds in advance of the event, and have been told that all funds raised in this effort will remain in the community. ACS donations are tax deductible, and proper documentation will be provided. Anyone interested in participating please let me know and I'll email you for further info or answer any questions (if I don't know, I'll find out). Thanks!
  14. LOL ... nope ... musta missed that one ...
  15. dangit Dave! ... haven't you gotten the answer to that yet? ... move on to $600

not only that, but I don't want to have to pay to keep them in prison for the rest of their lives ... prisons are full enough as it is. I do have to admit tho ... juries DO make mistakes sometimes, and sometimes those mistakes don't get corrected in the appeals system. It's not perfect, but it's the best we have ...
  17. you'll have to stop by here on your way then!! ... only about 3 hours from San Antone ... maybe AggieDave will bring you an Ag t-shirt ... everybody oughta have at least one ... lol
  18. seriously ... do NOT let it get you down ... there was an entire article in Parachutist a few months ago about students that some JM's considered write-offs ... getting with a different JM and doing great. I think it was titled something along the lines of "Problem Student, or Problem JM?". Students are expected to make mistakes, and you should not feel bad about doing so. It's much better to make your mistakes while a JM is there to help you thru them and how to avoid repeating them than to do it later when you're jumping on your own. Find yourself a more upbeat JM and you'll be improving in no time! I was very lucky to have that type of JM to start with.
  19. and I AM blond, so I can get away with 'em .... What's a blonde doing driving down the highway at 65 mph with her head out the window and her mouth wide open? Refueling ... :)
  20. Ditto the last 5 posts on this ... nothing to add ... just posted to bring this back to the front page cause I think a lot of people often don't get past it ... and this is worthwhile reading ...
  21. it's friday night and I'm sitting at home with a pc ... lol ... what can I say ...
