    virus hell

Yea If I don't see that I have got klez sent to me at least 2 times a day I start wondering what happened. My freakin quarantine box is almost as full as my inbox. arghh
  2. Thanks and yes it was the first and most definitely LAST lol Hey Sebazz will he know you from the name sebazz, also have you been up to CPI lately it has changed alot this summer.
  3. Congrats kids are wonderfull best of luck to you and your new baby....
  4. In Connecticut at CPI It was such a funny jump to. I was doing front loops and back loops and was going to do 1 more but at 8k my JM signaled no more and looked concerned. I said ok and held my arch watching him. He came closer, docked then to my total disbelief gave me a big ol'e kiss totally took my by surprise and then broke off. I proceeded to flip (not totally controlled as you can imagine) as I was wiping my mouth at the same time then regained control a second later. Gave him the finger locked on at 4500 and waved off and pulled. lol The ground JM then tells everyone that it was my graduation jump and wanted a round of cheers when someone said what if he didn't pass the jump. So he gets on the radio and says Hay Jay did you pass that jump or not. I answer back I'm not sure about passing but that freaking nut kissed me in freefall. Well I guess the whole DZ starts laughing including his girlfriend and I land with no trouble to allot of hooting and hollering and laughing. It was a very funny jump. I will probably never forget it lol my first Kiss Pass my wife thought it was funnier then I did...
  5. Oh yea, 9 jumps and away I go. Now I have some coaching jumps and then my A license hopefully by the end of June. Oh isn't it a wonderful day. Did my first hop-n-pop too yesterday 5500 that was fun. Twin otter is a beautiful thing. All I know is im finally starting to feel like a skydiver. We were on Fox News on Wednesday night partying if anybody caught the report. It was about the guy "Bobo" that went in last month, he had been planning to beat the state record but didn't get the chance so everyone dedicated it to him when the set it. It was pretty cool. Anyhow Blue sky's to ya all..
  6. Yea I cant wait till this weekend. My next dive is 180's and 360's then I get to do some barrel rolls in Catagory E along with loops and what not. Ye ha this rocks
  7. Hey guys, Just wanted to say to the people out there who a few months back told me I would be addicted, they were SO RIGHT! Back in Feb my new wife of 5mths got me a valentines gift certificate for a free tandem. Well seeing as I had already done the tandem I talked to the drop zone and they allowed me to put the $200 towards a first AFF jump. Well after the first jump I signed up for there gold package (20 jump pkg + test for A license) I have since made my 5th jump which was 1 JM poised exit he followed and just watched while I did a 1 PRCT 1 COA and then 4 90 degree turns while checking alti in between. Then pulled unassisted and flew back with no radio contact besides Jay you look good and are on your own. And did a stand up landing in a little bit of gusty winds with the guys from the dz clapping for me. Man was I happy. I was not completely sure about it until that dive but now I must say I am hooked. I also got my dives on video so when I figure out how to post them somewhere I will.. Blue Skies to all and have a great week!!

    Condolences

I don't feel its my place to give specifics of what happened as I have only heard it from others at the dz. I had the pleasure of doing my AFF lvl C1 dive with him on Saturday and he was a really great guy. He got me to relax and made some nutty faces at me. Its terrible really I have my jumps so far 3 total on video and I have him on video telling me to relax and sticking out his tongue at me. Later on that night I stuck around the DZ with my wife and he gave her a beer and started introducing her to everyone and really made us feel welcome. Then to my horror I hear on Monday that he went in. Damn, on that Saturday night my wife and I were joking about the days events and how crazy and fun these people were, his name came up more then once and I mentioned how I looked forward to being friends with them and now he's gone, I have only been married for 9 mths last August on 8-11 and I have been having a hard time figuring out if the "rush" is worth the possible loss. Yes I know that you can be killed going across the street and all and I'm not making any decisions this week about skydiving but must say that its a wake up call. Especially since I'm only on jump 3. Blue Skies
  9. Does that mean I get beer or do I owe beer for that great idea :-) Actually it was my wife's idea when I told her what they cost the thought of just having it flyaway seemed kinda nuts so she said we better J-proof all of it. (i leave things around every now and then ADD personality i guess) She also says I should get "A loud beeping thing" to remind me to open my chute. Must be the mother in her lol
  10. Thanks for the advice, looks like im going to head up to the dz next weekend and check it out. The wife says she would be interested in trying it but wants to watch a few first. Although when I told her that she might be able to influence the pilot to give everyone some free alti for a quick peek at the girls she smiled and told me to get certified first and she would think about it :-) Thanks for the Congrats Opie but what do you mean "SO OLD" 31 isn't that old! Oh I have a few more questions. If you have to cut away from your main what's the chance of ever finding it again? Do you have if found PLEASE CALL sewn in to the thing somewhere or what? Do fresh AFF grads usually rent gear for a while to get a feel for what they like or is there a more standard way of figuring out what you should use? Also is used gear a good idea? Is there anywhere on the web (maybe here) with pic's and descriptions of how to pack a chute and when do aff students start packing their own? Thanks again for the info Later Jay
  11. Hi, My name is Jay and well, I’m going to be an addict. I might as well just admit it and get it out in the open. Whew! That feels better. Anyhow, I'm a newbie jumper looking for a little advice, so here's my situation. I live up in Connecticut where it seems the weather continually sucks. I recently got married and turned 31 to boot. As far as jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, well I did a tandem jump about 4 years ago and absolutely loved it. Even though it was a long time ago I still remember every bit of it, especially watching the Cessna bank off and flyaway, what a site that was. Anyway, finances at the time didn't make continuing much of a possibility so I put skydiving on hold for a little while, and sadly a little while turned out to be 4 years. So the good news is now things are great. New wife’s pretty supportive and for a guy like me that says alot. She got SCUBA certified on our honeymoon (I was already), she won a Kawasaki 4X4 Quad in a drawing and gave it to me instead of selling it (yes it was after I said I do), she can go beer for beer with anybody I know. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, what does she do?? She gives me a Valentines Day box of chocolates with a gift certificate for a Tandem jump at http://www.skydivect.com -- isn’t that sweet! Well after a few thank you honeys 3:0:3 I talked it over with her and said I wanted to get certified not just do a tandem, her reply, "that's cool"... So we called Skydive CT and I can if I want, use that gift certificate towards the AFF level 1 jump. I still have the logbook from my first jump that says good for AFF. Although it also says I had a stiff exit. Hell yea I was stiff! So here are my questions. 1. Anybody know if Skydive CT's Program is good bad great you tell me? 2. I thought about taking the Level 1 jump here and then going on a vacation and maybe finish the AFF classes at another DZ (where its warm!) 3. Is it even possible to finish the AFF course in 2 weeks say in Florida with good weather. 4. Or should I just stay up here in CT and learn at my hometown DZ seeing as I am going to be diving out of that one the most (for now anyway)? Sorry for all the questions but if I am going to throw myself out of a moving aircraft at 13500 feet under my own canopy, I would sure like to know that the people teaching me know there shit ya know. What do you guys recommend? Thanks alot Jay
