When I close the flap on my main, I give it a "love tap" and you know, I don't really know why I do it. I just always have. LOL

Chris, that's cool. I'm glad you saw "Road Rules" that day. It was filmed at my old drop zone, at Skydive Miami. We did that and had a blast with it. Good luck on your plans with skydiving. I really hope it all works out for you. Blue skies!!

Skyhawk, I agree with everyone else, especially your instructors. Don't waste too much money doing solos and learning bad habits. Jump with the coaches or instructors or other experienced jumpers so you can get their input and they can help you correct your problems. It will be weel worth the extra time and money.

Dave, I'm terribly sorry you didn't get to jump this weekend. You're right, the weather here in North Texas was wonderful. I made two jumps yesterday, and the winds were a little high, but very jumpable for me. Hopefully it will be better next weekend and you'll get to jump. Blue skies!!

Not Spaceland. It was East Texas Skydiving Club in Gladewater, Texas.

Can anyone give me some advice on a Batwing? I jump a Sabre 135 and I can get a Batwing 134 for an extremely good price, but I don't know anything about it. I am a very good canopy pilot and I am very conservative, no low turns, nice straight in approaches, all that stuff. I'm just trying to figure out if getting that other canopy might be a good idea. Any thoughts??

We didn't have any reserve rides, but we had a girl land pretty hard and scare us all. She flared too late and landed butt first, thankfully in a big soft muddy puddle, and made one hell of a splash. I knocked the wind out of her and scared her, but she's ok. If it wouldn't have been so wet and the gound so soft, she'd have some broken bones for sure. Other than that, that's it. A nice day of skydiving and a great safety day at the drop zone.

My boyfriend (at the time) had a good family friend who jumped and was always telling Frank about it. One day, Frank asked me if I'd be interested in going and I told him "Hell no!" He eventually talked my mom into letting me go (I was only 16 at the time) and she somehow convinced me it might be fun. I did one static line and before I landed I knew I was hooked! not bad for saying, "OK, I'll do it once, just to say I did it." Besides that, when we split up he said I'd never jump again without him... but he's the one with 5 jumps!!

Of course I know Rena!! She and I got to hang out quite a bit during the filming. I have a very cool picture of her and Montana, Guy's oldest daughter, at Skydive Sebastian. If you watch, you'll see her at thee beginning of the movie, and a few other places, but I forget which. Anyway, when Vic (Badwin) walks onto the dz, at the table is Rena, Bill Booth and a coupld of kids. Rena is holding the baby, who is Guy's youngest daughter, I forget her name. But yes, I do know her and I think she is one hell of a cool girl!! We lost touch when I moved back home, but I'm sure I'll get to see her again.

After jumping without one for the last 6 1/2 years, I am FINALLY getting my Cypress!!!!!! A lawsuit has finally been settled out of court and I am getting enough money out of it to get my Cypress!!! I'm so excited I could cry!!! I should have it in a few weeks!!! I just had to tell everyone!!! I couldn't hold it in anymore!!! YIPPEE!!!

I really thought it was up to us, as skydivers, and especially someone "experienced" enough to do demos, to watch out for people on the ground. Maybe he had no choice, maybe there was no place for him to land without hooking it, but we don't know. Poor beer girl. This is kind of funny though. It did tickle me!! Everyone will be ok, and both parties will be more carefull in the future.

If you look at the middle of a USPA membership form there is a small box with tiny print next to it that says "Check here if you do not want your name to appear on a mailing list occasionally sold by USPA." I don't know if that magazine that you got is from a list from the USPA or not, but it is possible.

It feels great knowing I had something to do with the fact that these guys are going to jump. They would have never done it if I had brought it up.

I have no idea if Cutaway was released in England or not. I believe it was. You can buy it online on Amazon.com, but I'm not sure if you can get it in PAL format. I'm sure there are other sites in England that would have it in PAL. I never met Mike Michagin, but if you say he was involved, then how can I argue?? A lot of people didn't believe I was involved, until we sat down and watched the movie, and they saw me!! I have gotten 2 whuffos to commit to a tandem (the first one going this weekend if the weather holds out!!) after seeing the movie!
