First let me say I love dogs and like well behaved dogs at the DZ. I think part of the issue at hand when people make the decision to bring their dogs to the DZ (jumpers, spectators, family, Tandems, anyone) is that they are using the wrong point of view. They are determining that their dog is a well behaved dog. Well what does that mean? Everyone has a different opinion of a well behaved dog and also a different opinion of when its appropiate to have them around. For example i love dogs but do not own one. This means my veiws on whats accepted behavior is going to be a little different than that of someone who owns a dog, and a lot different than someone who does not own one and hates them. One of the ancient philosphers (Kant i think) said to make a deicsion you need to make it from the viewpoint of a disinterested spectator. That way it is completely unbiased. For example, smokers dont care if someone lights up next to them. Guess what? Nonsmokers do. And there is different levels of this too. Smokers are nice and go outside to smoke because they are considerate to nonsmokers. However, from a nonsmokers point of view now they have to walk through a cloud of smoke to go in and out of an establishment. This is a great example of two different mindsets when both people think they are in the right. Another great example is screaming kids. I hate it when a kid is bing fussy in a public place. The parents never seem to mind because they know the kid could be a lot worse. I on the other hand get pissed. I didn't sign up for that crap and i dont want to listen to it So i guess even though i fully support "well behaved" dogs at the DZ the problem at hand is any owener that brings their dog to the DZ has already made the decision that their dog is well behaved when in fact viewed from someone else that might not be the case. The tailpacket works great for BASE jumpers, but we don't use tuck tabs. I have to agree that a tuck tag hanging up would make me more than a little nervous. Why move away from the velcro? Yeah it wears but just replace it after a few hundred jumps. I dont see the advantage of the tuck tabs except to make it live up to its name even more. I have a related question: If someone is posting anonymously, then technically we should be able to say anything we want to them without it being a personal attack correct? I mean have can we PA someone that no one knows? I only bring this up because most Annoymous posts seem to only stir up trouble and personally attack people. Since i have numerous body peicings myself this is going to make me sound like a hypocrit but I'm not wild about them on women. Peirced nipples on women are nice to look at but then you can't be as rough with them. I'm not saying you can't be rough, you just have to be more careful. (Remember, twist/pull the entire nipple not just the jewelry.) Chances are if they got them peirced in the first place then they like pain but there is a limit. That and body peicings (especially nipples) do ooze from time to time even if you take extra great care of them. Thats something i really wouldnt want a mouthful of personally. As far as the hood goes I'm indifferent. It's really a novelty, the first few times it's fun but after the novelty wears off it's like it's not even there. I think this is a great idea and really hope they pursue it. Not because i want them to get a bailout, but because if they make a strong enough argument then hopefully the govt will realize the door they opened and stop doing bailouts all together. I would be curious to see the legal loophole his council is using. There is no way they can really expect compensation for the kidney, thats totally illegal. Last year I had a sinus infection from July to December that I couldnt seem to kick. I finally got upset and went to the Dr. in October because I was getting ready to go to Cali for a skydiving/business trip. While chatting with him about how healthy i normally am and how i can't beleive i can't kick it he casually mentions we had been having a lot of pressure changes and that pressure changes can cause the infection to expand and contract causing it to spread or linger. I asked him if changes in altitude could cause this and he said only if i did it a half dozen times in a short time period. So when i told him i made 11 jumps the previous two days he thought i was joking When i explained it to him he said that could certainly be why i can't seem to get rid of it and he put me on stronger antibotics and sent me to cali. 2 months later the infection spread to my parodic glands, i look like i gained 80lbs overnight, and i was quaranteened because a different doctor misdiagnosed me with the mumps. So, did he just get out of surgery, or just lose his job??? g I know this individual as well and unfortunately he recently had surgery AND lost his job. Hahahahahaha, Fox news just showed a video clip they had on file from Dec 9 with Rush saying in great detail how any type of appointment from the Gov should be blocked and ignored because whoever he appoints would no doubt be tainted.
