It actually does work. Modern society is pretty much the same thing. Laws are simply social contracts humans are making with each other. Humans for the most part dont break these laws because they fear the soveign that enforces them. The problem is when people dont fear them. hence, your gang discussion. Basically Hobbes is saying the only thing stopping people from doing whatever they want to whomever they want (every man for himself) is to have some sort of social contract. It is a sad situation I agree. However we have to determine the lesser of two evils. I am not saying people dying isn't evil, but your solution would be worse. I used to have a tri 190, pro pack is definitely the way to go, but i rolled the nose as well.
