  1. Yeah. This game is going downhill quickly. It started off so well. Both teams playing beautifully. Cujo's doing his usual "under preasure" thing... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  4. I jump a combinations of canopies that I suspect will not handle two out nicely because my main is much smaller then my reserve. (150/210) Should I ever find myself with two out, given suficient altitude, my plan is to initiate a downplane, then chop the main. If the two canopies are playing togeather nicely, I might consider leaving them both out if there's a big in front of me. I would be very hesitant about doing any turns in this configuration. My question though, is given an downplane with elipticals loaded at 1.5, what kind of pull force might I expect? How much preasure do the opposing canopies put on the cuttaway system? _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  9. As a Canadian living in the States, I am truely impressed by the amount of American and international support there is for Sale/Pelletier. Sadly, I didn't see the performance. My gut reaction once I started hearing the stories was that Canada was wining about loosing, then the stories started to pick up with intensity. Then in made the front page of the Chicago Tribune and NY Times. Hopefully Skating will improve from the controversy. Hell - hopefully all "judged" sports will improve from the controvery. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  11. I think it's been said enough times around here that number of jumps are a poor evaluation of skill. I think this is just another example. My personal feeling, is that there's something fundamentally wrong if an AFF Examinaer passes or fails someone simply on number of jumps. My gut feeling is that this doesn't happen anyway. My gut feeling is that the jump number requirements is simply a method for reducing the number of applicants, not judging their qualifications. I'll admit, I've forged jump numbers. I was going to a very small boogie, had 48 jumps. This boogie had B licence qualifications. I didn't accept that had I managed to get those extra 2 jumps in, I would be safer. So I got out my pen. After the boogie I tore those pages from my logbook. I don't think it makes me a bad person, I don't think it was irresponsible, and I don't need it's something I need to apologise for. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  15. Yes. I don't imagine they would handle a two out situation. I imagine they will probably downplane rather quickly. A new reserve may go on the shopping list when I have money. I haven't decided yet if I prefer the risk of downplane or the comfort of a big reserve. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  16. Mark: Skydiving is not safe. I don't imagine it will ever be safe. You can not be trained so that it is safe. Skydiving is one of the very few sports where you can do everything right, and still die. This should've been made perfectly clear to you in the waivers you sign every year. It is a significant risk, Skydivers accept this. I don't get your point. Either you accept the risk, or you don't. Skydiving is one thing that you can easily give up if you can't handle the risk. Likewise, if you don't think you can handle the risk of bathrooms, don't shower. You might ask this of John McCain. I would think that the deck of a carrier is one of the most dangerous places in the world. I don't think any kind of training would've saved you if you found yourself in a certain part of the USS Cole. Acceptable Risk is two components. The amount of risk, and the extent to which the participant accepts risk. Obviously skydiver accept greater risk then the general population. Those who hook accept more risk then those who don't The question of weather swooping or base jumping will ever be safe is moot, because skydiving will never be safe. If you can't handle this, I have some golf clubs to sell you. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
  17. Javelin J3 - Don't like the main cosing flap. They should really upgrade.. Stiletto 150. No complaints. Mind you I've only done two jumps. Tempo 210. No complaints. One uneventful use. Z1 brain bag. Lining comes out, lense falls off, paint chips off. See my review under the Gear Reviews. Altimaster III - doesn't handle high altittude well. Stops climbing at 16.5 MSL. Do you REALLYneed an altimeter above 16.5 though? ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

  20. Assuming it's at Quincy, It's really not that bad. There's one landing area in front of manifest that you want to avoid, but there's so many alternates. It's a three runway airport! When you add it up there's probably 60 or 70 acres of landing area, if you include the runway berms. Airconditioned trucks to come pick you up, too. This point is moot seing as it's probably not going to be at Quincy this year, but still. Unless things radically change this year it's nothing to be afraid of. If landing was so hard, then the Skydive Chicagoland folkes probably wouldn't be doing aff there... _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999

    Waaaaaah

Nice ride. Hyndai's finally making some good cars. Currently I'm in a 95 Honda Prelude SR, which goes as SI in the US. 2.3 litre VTEC 190 horses. Black leather, black paint, black tint, 17 inch rims. In the spring I'll be getting a 2001 AUDI A6, sliver exterior,(ICK, but it's free, so I"m not complaining), black leather, loaded to the tits. 2.7 litre twin turbo... Here's to getting to the dropzone in style, baby. _Am ICQ: 5578907 MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com Yahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
