  1. Ow.... Yep doesn't take a whole lot...esp if you've had a prior dislocation. Just a little pressure in the wrong direction and *POP*.... I had a quick dislocation from pulling myself out of the door while I was closer to the net (think pulling in and rotating up)... I walk out now...
  2. It took quite some time for them to debit my card...just have patience
  3. Yes I believe its been done with a bit more finess by other people...
  4. And thats 30 too many!! What happened to the Purple Mike picture embargo?
  5. Kick the door out?? Seriously?? Wow, never seen a sign like that...(not doubting you...just...wow) I'd imagine I would take the extra 2 seconds to raise the door...I'd hate to die a fire-y death just because I jammed the door shut by kicking it...better get it right the first time if thats what your going to do... Remain calm, open the door, get out. Panic at the door would probably doom you all
  6. Quoted to agree!!! I'm scared enough when we get together to do 20 ways But for shits and grins and the purpose of discussion.... I would probably go reverse order of traditional exit order. Small to large groups, b/c I believe the larger the flock, the slower the forward speed. That way a group wouldn't catch up?? But then again, perhaps since the big group wouldn't cover much ground they should get out first....hmmmm?????? Well I do know those 7 solos need to hike up their skirts and fly together. If nothing else a loose flock that has it's eye on one another. Since we're all flying to the same general location, I would rather have closer groups that see each other than long and strung out.
  7. "Pink Stiletto"....LOL....see pic below for the story of that name why do I keep posting this??? I happen to enjoy flying raptors, good balanced fun suit. good olllleeee pinky!!
  8. I'll be there!!!! But seeing as I live on the DZ anyway, it's not saying much Night jumps.....sign up at manifest, meet after sunset load for briefing. Funny.... FnD is when I do my least amount of wing suiting there
  9. Instructions for opening up-wind: 1. On ground-note direction of windsock 2. In air-fly that direction! Kidding.... Luckily at zhills we are blessed with many an out, and a huuuuugggggeeee airport if we screw up! At Xkeys, the situation is a bit different. Navigation is key. As I said, make sure to take note before EVERY jump at the winds. Often, they will shift, and what was once up-wind is no longer so "up".... Much like spotting, this is a skill that must be developed. Self supervised WS jumps are particuarly dangerous for a low experience pilot without any other WS'ers to assist. Much of what you know about spotting must be applied to your flight plan. Taking into account winds aloft, and your actual position over the ground. Directional control is a must, however. If you cannot fly in a straight line, you should seek more instruction.
  10. Tony always had some good looking chicks in his stuff...come one with the wing suit photos! There's a pic or 2 of flora in the suits she made, but I don't want Brent to come beat me up!
  11. In addition to looking badass..... It slows your vertical to 15mph.....14 if your flaring
  12. Nice! Good manufacture-er neutral article! Good first read for the newbies...Sticky?
  13. Yeah, sovietskee, we are talking about 2 different tunnels in this thread I guess. True, there is the Franklin Mills one thats being talked about (the one many people figure was purchased by people who can't build it...waiting to sell it at a profit to someone who can build it) And the Xanadu one...that is in Northern Jersey (the Medowlands to be specific), which is Just outside of NYC. Its right next to Giants Stadium). Roughly 2 hours from Philly. But both tunnels are FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR from ever being started...much less blowing air. If your looking for flying anytime in the next year or 2...look elsewhere
  14. Air to ground communication overall was excellent!! I was very impressed also with the live video feeds as well. Laughed my ass off watching jeff n exit on his back.... I was suprised jeff... thought you would be under them both for the footage on your back! While I still think the landing idea is more than silly, and not exactly landing in a true from, I am happy for the positive coverage for the sport in general, and wingsuiting specifically that it is generating!
  15. Yep....all the footage was mine! Like scott said...I am a man of variety!! Yeah it was a real informal timelapse of the ice carving though...just used my feet as my "tripod" I'm sure yours would look better! Thanks for the compliments! The kilt...well thats just gram for ya haha! You should have seen him track in it....an absolute rocket! Might have given a mach1 a run for its money
  16. Also now on DZ.com video section too.... sorry put the adult content flag on it due to semi-NSFW content.... Dont want you guys getting in trouble DZdotCom version The adult content filter can be turned off in the settings tab. You will find it underneath the main navigation bar while in the video section.
  17. Just threw together a comp vid of the Puerto Rico boogie. Only on skydiving movies for right now, on DZ.com shortly... How I saw it Also to help eveyone out... You will have to actually download the file. It will not natively play in IE/Firefox...maybe safari. You will most likely need the divx codec installed on your comp. As soon as this is uploaded to DZ.com the problem shall be mute
  18. Just an FYI if you look at my face here, it is a result of my horror from kicking scotty in the face. This was the first day of the boogie, and I broke his ringsight. Still made do and took awesome pics.... sorry scotty
  19. On the camo blade.... Did you get the front of it sky blue? A-la fighter jet color scheme? Hard to see from above and below?? The camo rocks... And Aartus...that color scheme is one of the nicest looking blades i've ever seen!
  20. I believe the colorado "flock in a box" guys had it about right.... New Suit Break In But seriously, what everyone has said is about right. The Blade is an easy suit to fly, and easy to deploy. Just keep those feet and knees together on deployment.
  21. Oversized "carry on" luggage is my #1 gripe in traveling right now. With 85+ segments last year, it gets old very fast. I wish the regulation was more strictly enforced like it is in england. Show the ticket agent it will fit or it gets checked. I agree that this will simply backfire in the airlines face. Just another poorly thought out execution of a "good idea". Do they consult frequent travelers before they carry out these policies?? 1. People will simply carry on 2 bags now which will - Bog down security even more - Strain all ready full overhead space - make flights later due to lack of overhead space "battles" 2. If I wanted 2 bags checked, I will simply gate check them (refer back to problem 1's list ) to avoid the $25 penalty 3. Drive business away - with fares so cut-throat now, the $50 round trip penalty will really affect some peoples perception of the airline ** Yes I understand that weight = fuel = bottom line, but think of the negative press involved in being the FIRST to do this. I have long thought that the nickle and dimeing of this industry is very annoying. I would imagine a $5 hike in fares across the board would have been far more profitable than what this will produce. Just like charging $8 for a snack box, when a few dollars built into the ticket price to provide a snack box "for free" and go a long way to making you look like a good airline instead of a greyhound bus of the sky I know what they should do....BLAME GENERAL AVIATION!!!!
  22. I would recomend the microtel or Best Western... both are close. The microtel is near walmart and chilis which are both positives. Or you can stay on the dz. Call manifest and ask for pip or judy for a trailer which are $20 if I'm not mistaken.
