  1. haha well it's sooooo tasty! I hope that my opinions are atleast a little objective to you all. You'll note I mentioned the Phantom over the Prodigy (as I believe it is a much much better first suit - as far as sport skydiving goes) before I even touched on the Intro. I was only pointing out 2 similar (full range of arm movement) beginer suits, and I happen to think that the buyback is a pretty damn good deal
  2. I did the same thing you are about to do a few years ago.... My plan was to hit all the Florida DZ's and then head west.... Zhills was my first stop...and I never left
  3. I know that you were specifically asking about the prodigy 2, but I almost have to ask why? The phantom 2 is a fantastic first suit, which we use at Zhills for first flights. I would much rather see someone spend their money on a suit you will use much more successfully! If you still want a prodigy type suit I also would also have to mention the tony suit intro. The price is less AND he'll buy it back from you and put that money towards your next suit from him!! edit to add..sorry missed the BASE part of it... I'll punt that one to James then!!
  4. Funny enough... We have a feral cat problem here at Xkeys... And I personally called the local "we kill" shelter on the 3 kittens we caught today... I'm not kidding!! BANG!!!!!!!
  5. every time i hear "fly baby fly" I personally kill a kitten
  6. I would really recommend that you have 1 or 2 other people jump it first... Just to make sure before you send it away. If they agree with you, then there is no shame in calling up Aerodyne. They have a great reputation for getting things sorted out. Good luck
  7. Your realistic solution But really...if you have to ask about something like this...I highly doubt you've been around skydiving even 93 jumps... Seek professional advice on your dz
  8. Well it is the 18-55IS version Would be interested to see just how it compares to the old 18-55 So they gave you the XSi instead of the 40d?
  9. Holy crap spot!!! Was this a WS jump or something else?? 40d and XSi? Are they giving you a choice? - I'm confused... What about your lens? Covered too? Hope your not too sore!
  10. I do agree as well here about the scotty thread. However, I will do this via PM...
  11. oh sorry.... was reading in your other thread that you are not 18 yet...not sure of your location, but in the US, you must (for the most part) be 18 to skydive
  12. and he has a few years to wait anyway but keep it going till you turn 18!
  13. or one really bitch'n summer
  14. Good point.... As of right now, no magnets are available in Icon's, but it may be something to think about when designing your rig of the future with magnetic riser covers or whatever else people think to put them on! As side note to that, my wingsuits have magnets in multiple places, and I constantly find small pieces of metal attracted to them. Where it comes from? I don't know, but also a side effect to be aware of...do you want metal shards attracted to your rig??
  15. The key is to not fall down (yes i'm half joking here, packing and sitting on the plane does enough to make a rig dirty...but still) Your right...white is difficult. More white than I've ever had before. I'm not above having my rig washed if needed.
  16. precisely! I'm at 1.8 on it. The canopy does load up nicely, and is sporty. I've given up on jumping my "swoopier" cannopies as I can have enough fun with the pilot and peace of mind on the openings. Of course I don't recomend a sub 100 for everyone... Keep in mind I jump Wingsuits almost every day of the year.
  17. voted 3....have I gone lower?...of course. My comfort level is at 3, and I think all of the newer pilots here should take from this thread what the more experienced wingsuiters have said here... Suits - Raptor and XS Canopy - Pilot 96 - Gives me the openings I've been looking for on a small canopy
  18. I wouldn't hold your breath.... quite a few people have died allready doing that The common thread on that is people bought the rights to it, with no means to build it...or something like that.
  19. My absolutely stunning Icon...Best one I've ever seen..cause its MINE
  20. That's actually a good question, but perhaps a high performance canopy pilot who also does another discipline...perhaps wingsuiting? Speed (swoop) Mode vs. Standard Mode edit to add...Not talking about myself, just thinking of who could benefit from multi settings But I think its really just a selling point for them. "No need to send it back to us to change it!!"
  21. Got one...price was a + Like I've said before...there isn't alot a skydiver can say about one AAD over the other except this... If I ever need it, and it saves me...I'll love it... If it ever screws me...I'll hate it. I do not buy into the "this AAD has more years of experience over that one..." argument.. never have, never will. My logic, is that any aad is just one software upgrade or one new model away from having a problem.
  22. I stole every copy on my floor at my hotel this morning... Great job Scotty, Congrats on the exposure of not only yourself and your great work, and wingsuiting and skydiving as well!! From the caption - "this is one of those pictures you can't critique because it's not an ordinary, everyday photograph. This photographer deserves my congratulations." Well done Scotty!!
  23. If I vote the most...will scotty give me his old camera?
