3. Our friend Matto was kidding about the 120. It really is 200 jumps minimum to even think about WS jumps. Multiple jumps a day is not only possible but standard. Many people do 5 to 10 a day (maybe more). Start jumping now and you can be flying by next summer!
4. Can't find any stories about someone gettting hit under canopy but I think it could definitely happen. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=818728;search_string=lightning;#818728
5. No. 0% chance of success. Even a sub terminal "Mr. Bill" jump right out the door is pretty difficult to pull off. Here is a Mr. Bill if you don't know what it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWErSdR516c
6. A little technical but it sounds like the same problem you are having: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/30970656/yahoo-email-will-not-load.aspx The Problem: I could log in to yahoo, but once logged in, I could not go to my email inbox. I could to the login page: mail.yahoo.com. Then after entering my username and password and pressing sign in, the webpage would go blank and act like it was loading, but after a long while of being a blank page, it would timeout. I also found out that other yahoo websites would not load. I'm not sure what is the failed pages have in common. Attempted Solutions: I tried pinging several of the broken sites and ran a tracert for some. nothing significant was discovered. i turned off all firewall and tried the sites again - no luck. then i rand Ad-Aware and SpyBot S&D to see if some cookies were messing up the works...still nothing changed. Solution: Finally, I found some forums discussing similar problems. i'm not sure what the MTU setting is - for your router, but several of the sites mentioned trying to decrease the MTU size. this website was particularly helpful: http://help.expedient.com/broadband/mtu.shtml#winxp. to find the MTU size of your router, try 192.168.1.1 in the address field of an IE window. you may be required to enter a username and password. i checked the MTU size of router and it was initially set to "auto" and i guess - 1500. when i changed it to manual and 1492, i then tried the yahoo mail account again. IT WORKED! so, i saved the new settings in the router, turned the firewalls back on including the pop-up blocker...the mail account still works.
7. roofie Term for Rohypnol, a sedative that was made in the early 1970s by Roche and was used in hospitals only for deep sedation. It is now a fairly infamous date-rape drug.
8. 3 tandems in a day and "finished AFF in 2 days"? Props! Way to jump right into the sport! Welcome.
9. Definitely "Whuffo"....they even have their own website: http://whuffo.net/ Urban Dictionary also agrees: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=whuffo
10. Click his name then look at all his other posts over the past few months then this one will make perfect sense!
11. On their website they only have white smoke listed.
12. Pick a place that is busy during the week. Most debauchery at DZ's happens on a Saturday night so if you leave on the 20'th you don't get to be around for any Saturday night fun. Check the calendars for the DZ's you listed and see if any are having events during the time you will be around.
13. She looks taller than 4 feet in these pics: http://skydivehistory.com/women/broadwickt.html ...every reference I find has her at 4 ft and 85 lbs. I love this quote:

15. I wouldn't cry about dues dude.....BPA charges about $190 a year or about 3 times as much as USPA. I think USPA is a great deal. We get 12 Parachutists a year, insurance coverage, and we benefit greatly from their work with the FAA and other agencies to allow us to keep jumping. If it kept me in the air I would gladly pay what our cohorts in the U.K. pay. Are there possibly some issues with the way USPA is run? Maybe. But your rants are really not productive and do not forward any type of suggestion on how to make it better.
16. Agreed. Recovery room after ACL surgery. Was told that family was allowed and to make sure there "wasn't an issue" to bring the paperwork. My partner is in the medical field and am sure he would not have had any difficulty getting in but we brought it just in case. The point is I really believe people are denied access far more often than you think. It sucks but it is true.
17. This really does happen a lot. I can't believe people think it is not an issue. It takes just one nurse, doctor, or hospital administrator to say "just following the rules....only "family" is allowed". I have read tons of stories over the years about this. When I had surgery a few years ago I was instructed to bring a power of attorney and some other notarized form to make sure my partner would not have any issues getting into the recovery room. You are right though....it is definitely a violation of medical ethics. Outrageous yes but just another thing unmarried couples sometimes need to deal with.
18. Are you sure about that? Some states require a test to ensure each partner knows the others status but I don't think any state has ever even proposed not allowing someone to get married due to a positive result.
19. You are not going to get 12 jumps a day during the week anywhere in New England. Pepperell is open 7 days a week but you wont do anywhere near 12 jumps a day Mon thru Fri. You can hit up the tunnel in Nashua which is 5 or 10 mins from Pepperell and get some tunnel time during the week. Pepperell is very easy to get to from Boston (45 mins) and is a nice DZ.
20. Celts in quadruple OT! Yeah...definitely been a fun series. The friggin' games are like Sox and Yanks though....very long and draining to watch!
21. "seal ejaculate".....friggin' awesome.
22. It has been a year....we miss you Sharky! RIP.
23. great quote...very true. I have been following this thread and i seems like the OP's anger and venom are greatly due to a lack of an immediate response and "correction" of the perceived issue. I think a tempered response and willingness to work with the system instead of raging against it may have produced better results.
24. ...perhaps you can post as an attachment one of the e-mails you sent so everyone can better understand what you wrote and if it was, for example, threatening in any way.
25. They do beach jumps all the time. If you get someone to pick you up can arrange it almost any weekend. The bar at the landing area will give you a free beer too when you land. The beach jumps at Sebastian have been some of my favorite jumps ever....real scenic area with beautiful sunsets.
