  1. I say: "For the same reason that I pay taxes... because I have to... come jump with me and you'll see why" My DZ is probably happy that I use that one...
  2. Hey Chris, I truly believe in the saying "Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…. it’s about learning to dance in the rain." And although right now you may think that it is raining, I can't be happier to see that your going to be pursuing your childhood dream. Too often these days people lose sight of the dream and get forced and cornered into a profession where they are miserable. If you haven't already read The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch, then I think that you should! It is an awe-inspiring book about pursuing your childhood dream. You can find it here - http://www.amazon.com/Last-Lecture-Randy-Pausch/dp/1401323251 Kudos to you for once again "stepping out onto the ledge", this time with your music! And as others have said, the skies will always be there :D ... Until 2012. But that is a whole 'nother story. Take Care
  3. Hello and welcome! As a new skydiver myself, I printed out the SIM and followed along with it during my training. This helped me to make sure that I was asking all of the right questions to my instructors and helped clear some issues up. It can be found here: http://uspa.org/Portals/0/Downloads/Man_SIM_2009-2010.pdf Blue skies!
  4. What is your professional skydiving name? I need to come up with one ...
  5. I believe I saw something @ cross keys about a balloon jump coming up - give them a call.
  6. Hey everyone! First off I want to thank all of you for posting here, because I have been bumming around here for a couple weeks and have learned quite a few things, and more importantly have learned to ask my instructors some great questions that I would have never thought to ask. Secondly, I'm currently at 18 jumps - I approached the DZ knowing that I wanted to get into the AFF program, did my three tandems in one day, and then came back next week and finished my AFF in two days. I already extremely love this sport and I can't wait to learn as much as I can so that I can have a long and safe skydiving career. If anyone jumps at Cross Keys, I'm usually there some weekends and some fridays. Lets jump! (especially if your willing to share your knowledge). Send me a message! Blue skies, Jonathan
